prateek Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I think I might also buy Assassin's Creed 2, I played the first one for a few months and it was very good. I also played for some time Motorstorm, pretty good game. I don't think I'll buy Burnout Paradise because I would prefer to have a Need for Speed, if I manage to find PS3 one in a store. Little Big Planet seems quite interesting, tough it's not for me.I don't think I'll buy other games for a long period, mostly because I have too many expensive hobbies. Burnout Paradise is way better than NFS Undercover just to let you know. Quote

If you were wanting to buy the latest need for speed which is shift then I would advise to wait for gran turismo 5 because I have the prologue and it is a lot better than shift. Quote

DarthSion Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 (edited) Why do people buy EA, they haven't made a single good game in years, they turn command and conquer fanchise into a joke, the sports games are just a cash cow, NFS has been rubbish since underground 2, they even managed to kill medal of honour and then turn it too into a lets kill Muslims game. Quality game and EA is like well developed plot and Michael Bay. The MX Vs ATV is popular and not a bad game. And GT5 isn't out for 2 more months in the USA, although I haven't heard that as a confirmed time. And don't forget people you can download as many demos as you want for free with the PS3, well for now anyway. Edited December 23, 2009 by DarthSion Quote
The Who Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I'm also getting a PS3 for Christmas (Well, I'm only 99% sure ) and I am wondering about a few games. I heard Nascar '09 was pretty good, and very realistic, and I think I have played Flatout (?) and it was fun. I like racing games, but I prefer that they are excessively detailed, or show damage on vehicles. Shooting games are fun, just not entirely fictional. I like those based off of WWII, and things like that. Any particular advice? Lego games are always fun, so I buy them anyway. I already know I got the promotional Guitar Hero: Van Halen in the mail, which came from the purchase of Guitar Hero 5, that I was not supposed to know about. I just can't play it yet. Quote

Yea I agree the new Medal of Honor looks like a pretty terrible game for a MOH game. The game looks good but it doesnt fit into what medal of honour is supposed to be. I disagree about NFS though I feel that carbon was the best NFS game made. Quote
DarthSion Posted December 26, 2009 Author Posted December 26, 2009 Let me put this into your mind, new MoH, now think of MW2. Quote

DarthSion Posted January 8, 2010 Author Posted January 8, 2010 ROTLMFAO, If you are really looking for free ps3 games to play on your pc laptop (and I doubt it) then who ever or where ever you are getting your information from is full 1000000% of BS. For starters you will get to play ps3 games on your laptop in about 20 years, they still can't even do a decent ps2 emulator for the pc, and what they have now certainly wont work on gutless undercut laptops, most pc's can't even run ps2 games. Secondly there isn't anyway to even play "backups" on the ps3, I mean it aint like MS, so until that happens no one will bother backing up games for you to download. Lastly, this is the ps3 a part from the kiddy games like the lego series the majority of them especially exclusive games like ratchet and clank use their full potential, namely disk space, given single sided blu-ray disks are 25gigs, unless you have really fast internet with unlimited downloads you have bugger all chance of downloading the games. Not to mention the fact that with the cost of a blu-ray burner and disks it would be cheaper to buy a second hand ps3 and then buy games when they go cheap. Quote

He had links to a YouTube video in his sig which linked to a site that (with little explanation) said that if you pay a one-time price the same as a full price guide you have free games and movies forever. As you say, it's obviously rubbish, but I wasn't sure if he was a fool or a spammer so I haven't banned him...yet. (If you want the link I can PM it to you, but I won't post in in the forum.) Quote
DarthSion Posted January 8, 2010 Author Posted January 8, 2010 Ah I see, and thanks but no I am good, I already know where and how to get everything I want, and definitely not through some lame pay warez site. Back to the real point of my thread, I saw a recent survey that suggested sony is going the way of MS and going to put us into a money class system, i.e. they are looking into a paid PSN subscription. Also by mid year sony is supposedly going to start releasing full HD 3D games and movies, and all you need is a firmware update, oh and a couple of grand for a new tv to use it. back to sony I also hear they are going to further expand blu-ray with a rumoured 45gig single sided disk which would almost double its size, thus once and for all killing the so called rumoured ps4 which won't have a blu-ray drive. That's what I thought. The site is so lame it has images of the prototype PS3...! On a different subject, as an old Amiga fanboy I bought Pinball Dreams today for my PS3 and PSP. I'm in retro heaven! DarthSion Posted January 8, 2010 Author Posted January 8, 2010 Yeah you can't blame them, there is a sucker born every minute. Good lord someone on this site who knows about the old days lol, I wish we could get Boulder Dash, or Bruce Lee from the C64. Since when did I become the respectful one lol. Quote
Siegfried Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Good lord someone on this site who knows about the old days lol, I wish we could get Boulder Dash, or Bruce Lee from the C64. I can see more and more ports of the classic games. It's easy money! Since when did I become the respectful one lol. Since you refused to argue with me. I figured that it's because your extreme respect for me. Quote
DarthSion Posted January 8, 2010 Author Posted January 8, 2010 Good I wouldn't mind some old games, really wish we could see some old mega drive games. Lol, No its because I have been in enough trouble in the past so I don't argue any more. Quote

The Who Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 For those with a PS3, I have a question: Since the data is saved into the actual console, not a memory card, would anything be deleted if I unplugged the Ps3 system? My friend wants me to take my PS3 over to his house, so I would really like to know. All answers appreciated! Quote

It's just like a computer in terms of data storage, you can take it anywhere. Edited March 13, 2010 by prateek Quote

Siegfried Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 No, not even if you pull the hard drive out, its saved to the hard drive. Very true! I should note though that you can't transfer hard drives between system. Anyone playing FFXIII? Quote

However, I'm torn between FFXIII and God of War III. GoW3 seems more epic, really blows me away. But from what I hear it's a short game with little replay value. Then there's FFXIII, which is longer but seems like an average game. Quote
