nintha Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 So I decided to buid a moc for a castle and it came out to look more like a small fortess. Front. Sides. Back. First floor. Second floor. The knight living in the fortress. On the second floor I'm thinking of putting the living quarters up there and on the first floor I am thinking of putting an armory down there. So above the door way I put a little spot for a archer to hide and shoot out of. I am planning of putting a top to it and a look out tower in the curved corner. I thought the different colors wold look good and I didn't have all the same colored bricks too. The knight is colored in silver sharpie paint pen. I want to know what you think about it. Quote
Mocha Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 for some reason this moc reminds me of naght der untoten from codwaw Quote
ziljin Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 The color scheme reminds me of a urban camo tank. Quote
nintha Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 I updated it and added a living quarters, a small armory, some people(minifigs), and a roof. 1st floor 2nd floor roof overview minifigs. sigfig. The minfigs include my sigfig wizard, a peasent and his wife and a knight. Quote
nintha Posted September 10, 2009 Author Posted September 10, 2009 I am thinking of destroying this creation but before I do I would like your opinion If I should destroy it. If I destroy it I will probly make another moc but not a castle one I pretty much stink at makeing castle mocs. So I would like your opinion about it. Quote
Inconspicuous Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 It's up to you whether you destroy it, but the exterior looks a little bland to me. However, there are some nice uses of pieces, like the Ambush in Cairo body parts, and the Yoda Head in the wizard's workplace made me crack up. My recommendation would be to only destroy it if you need parts for another MOC or project. Definite improvement from the first picture though. Quote
nintha Posted September 10, 2009 Author Posted September 10, 2009 Thanks and if I don't destroy it and keep it what do you sugest I should do on the outside to make it less bland? I also used most of my bley and dark gray bricks in building it. Quote
Inconspicuous Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Well, IMHO it looks too.... messy. The random blotches of dark gray look out of place, and the random "log" bricks as I call them don't help. At the bare minimum, making the dark gray pieces on the same level would make it look better (take a look a Green Grocer or Cafe Corner for example of this). Otherwise, adding more windows, jail cell walls, or moss growing on the walls would really help. Some plants or trees outside wouldn't hurt either. If you're trying to go for the run-down feeling, my Mines of Moria MOC could give you some ideas too (link in my signature). Quote
nintha Posted September 10, 2009 Author Posted September 10, 2009 Thanks I'll see what I can do. Quote
BlueBard Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Nice! I don't know if it was your intention but it really reminds me all the oniric castles with strange knights and people from the french and english medieval literature Quote
nintha Posted September 10, 2009 Author Posted September 10, 2009 Thanks BlueBard, I really dont have a intention I just wanted to try and make something like a castle or from the time period of castles. I collected all my plant parts and will add pictures later. Quote
