The Who Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Yes of course you are.I'm dying to see a Mandalorian Battle Pack I may just give it a try... Probably a stupid question, but could I include both Jango and Boba in it? Or would it need to include only one of the two? Now, to start designing my Staff entry....Hoping to see a bunch of good staff entries. Quote
JTaylor Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Hi, I'm new here and I would like to participate in this contest, I have a few questions though: I read in the rules "50-70" pieces, is that like a general estimate? will i get disqualified if i have more? Or is it just suppose to be small? Also, where do I post my entry when I am complete? and finally, what dose "MOC" stand for? My Own Creation?? Thanks! Quote
sologuy369 Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Also, where do I post my entry when I am complete?and finally, what dose "MOC" stand for? My Own Creation?? Thanks! 1. In the "Watto's Junkyard" thread. 2.I think... . I think it comes from mocing as in copying something(such as builing a park, your "copying" a real park . ) Quote

It has to be 50-70 pieces excluding figures. It isn't a estimate it is a rule. You can make a new topic in wattos junk yard. Here are the rules that KimT posted... Link To KimT's Rules On Eurobricks I noticed that you viewed my geonosian battle pack. You can also view a few others for examples also. Good Luck Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Yes, please reread the rules, as they are very to the point and clear. And MOC stands for My Own Creation. Quote
JTaylor Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Ok thanks guys, Yes i viewed your geonisian battlepack, I loved it! I also read the rules several times but I was just wanting to make very sure. Thanks again! Quote
Darth Lion Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Are selfmade stickers allowed (not huge ones, but small symbols, like the rebel symbol in the official battlepack)? Quote

andy0002 Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 They don't have to be from BPs, but in terms of part selection, they should fit in with the style of a BP. E.G. no BURPs or other very large bricks, no huge and <insert that tiresome argument> "crater" baseplates, etc. etc. Make a small vehicle in the style of a BP and you'll be fine. so.... if i were to use MANY pieces in my BP such as the two brown pieces on the back of the droid BP, a window cockpit thing, and i also want to use 2 boosters from the A-wing model. is that okay? i think those all fit in that category, but im not sure how MUCH of the "burp" pieces i can use, or if my a-wing boosters fit in as "similar to pieces from the previous battle packs" ive already designed my prototype, now im going to compare it to pictures on the internet, make it better, and slim down the piece count. speaking of piece count, seeing as all the current BPs up to date have ALWAYS(i think) have had more than 70 pieces.. cant you boot it up a bit? i think maximum 85 would be better. Quote
KimT Posted September 5, 2009 Author Posted September 5, 2009 How about taking a look at the BP's released by TLG and then consider wether or not you've exceeded the size of those? That should work as a good reference for size of parts and what not to do. Quote

Lord David Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 I'm sure the maximum of 70 without figs was meant to be a challenge. It can easily be done. Quote
Jonas O. Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 The Battlepack have 50-70 parts or you can use also less? Quote
Lord David Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 50-70 parts minus minifigs in that count. That's what is says, follow it. Quote
KimT Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 No less than 50 parts and no more than 70 parts. Minifigs excluded. Quote
Gerrard Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 This should be fun. I am definantly going to enter! Quote

simonjedi Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Do weapons and the clone accessories count as going towards the 50 -70 piece count? lightsabers for example will take up at least 2 peices (hilt and blade) if the clone accessories do count then how do you judge them? do they count as one part (i.e the bag in the gunship/BP) or is each accessory separate? Quote
KimT Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 50-70 parts and 4 minifigs. How clear do you need it to be? Add a lightsabre and you're adding two parts towards the max amount of parts. Add a backpack and you're one part towards the max amount of parts. I'd rather not discuss wether a clone helmet is a part or not. Use your best judgement here people. Quote

Artizan Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 i dont see why limited the minifig number to 4, both battledroid battlepack and assassin droid battlepack included 5 minifigs. Quote
The Who Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 i dont see why limited the minifig number to 4, both battledroid battlepack and assassin droid battlepack included 5 minifigs. Those are droids, and don't exactly hold the same value as a regular minifig.Plus a rule is a rule, and questioning Mr. T won't change it. Quote
Lord David Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 It's meant to be a challenge people! Stick to it! 4 may be low, but that's the average. Sure battle packs with battle droids may have more "minifigs" but you can still go by with a 4 battle droid battle pack. Quote
ILikePi Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Are we allowed to include a 6 x 12 plate in our entry? My entry is more of a structure that can be an addition to a larger thing (like the Death Star) instead of a vehicle. Oh and by the way, the Rebel Scout Speeder battle pack set includes two 6 x 8 plates. Quote
CommanderFox Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Cool comp KimT!! nice idea! Im going to give it ago but do I have to do box art or whatever you meant? Thanks and good luck to everyone! CommanderFox Quote
