Alywin Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 (edited) Seems whung has less love in City than SW... Thanks to whung, actually it is also found that City has 3 more new promotional items 30001, 30002, 30003, in addition to the previously discovered 30000. I knew from whung at Minifigs.net . Pictures are from whung's brickself, but the original sources should be the same as those for SW, i.e. LEGO.com instructions database Personally I think 30001 is very cute , while 30003 is quite creative and could be easily modified to be a nicer construction theme set . 30000 Doctors Car 30001 Firemans Car 30002 Police Boat 30003 Steam Roller Edited September 2, 2009 by Alywin Quote
Rick Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 30001 is very cute indeed. It's kinda disappointing though that the subthemes are ambulance, fire, police, and construction again. These little sets would lend themselves really well to creating nice 'city life' additions. Unfortunately, these sets are not that useful and realistic considering the rest of the city line. But of course they are intended to sell the bigger City sets... Quote

But LEGO seems has removed the link in the LEGO.com instructions page. BlueBard Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 They're all really nice, with that funny feeling that promotional sets allways have I specially like 30003 Quote
CopMike Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Looks great, I really like the small promos - it´s a perfect little set the build when you only have a couple of minutes and still want to enjoy some Lego ! Quote
The Cobra Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 The fireman's car reminds me of a milkman's car. While, the steamroller rocks! Quote
prateek Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Hmm... They all look pretty good except 30000. I agree that the roller is genius Quote
WhiteFang Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Alywin and whung, thanks for sharing this info with EB Community. I am really looking forward to those promo sets. These small little sets are exactly very nicely done, that can be added into our collection with their scale. I am really excited about this. One thing though, do you guys have any ideas if this is going to be some exclusive thing? It seemed its is running on a 5 digit series. Quote
Fluyt Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 That doctors and firmans cars really remind me of the oldschool city theme, like the 80's and 90's, nice. Quote
The Cobra Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 ..., which are also gone now, but hey the builds aren't that challenging Doctor's car and Fireman's car are back. The two other sets aren't. Quote

One thing though, do you guys have any ideas if this is going to be some exclusive thing? It seemed its is running on a 5 digit series. That I totally have no idea about. Sorry... But anyway promotional sets have been made available quite "exclusively" on particular markets and/ or for special purposes. In Hong Kong, small promotional sets have been given out by LEGO company just as free gift or reward for certain customer events (e.g. 4991 4992), so it would not suprise me if they are for some "exclusive" thing. By the way, you have become Grimfang... Quote
pedro Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Great find! And what nice, well rounded little sets these are, especially the fireman's car and police boat. I love the steamroller too; in fact upon seeing it, it reminded me of my old Star Wars mini-rig MTV-7, which could assume a similar form by pushing down on the cockpit. Star Wars MOD anyone? Quote
Section8 Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Anyone else confused by the use of old-school parts in these promos? The fireman's car has the old fenders for the 4-wide vehicles, the doctor's car uses the old 4-wide car base and the police boat has the fence piece in the back. We haven't seen these parts in forever. I wonder why they are using them again. Quote
Rick Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 We haven't seen these parts in forever. I wonder why they are using them again. ... 'cause they're excellent parts that exist for 30 years already... Quote
The Cobra Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Peeron says that those mudguards have always been around; yet, in the last two years, Lego seems to re-discover old pieces. Quote

Morgan19 Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 (edited) Three of them didn't make much of an impression on me, but that steamroller is adorable! m19 Edited September 2, 2009 by Morgan19 Quote
legobear Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Does anyone know how we can get these promos sets? I have not been able to get any promo sets at all in the last 2-3 years of collecting and I live in California. Anyone have any advice :(, I want these. Quote
The Chronicler Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 So there now making sets of Wacky Racers Quote
JCC1004 Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I'll get them if they are easy to find but they are no that great. Quote

Thanks. I believe so. Hopefully, these lovely sets can be easily sought for. By the way, you have become Grimfang... Err... It's a long story dated back to my first mafia game, Mystery Castle to the recent one, Noir Mafia in the LEGO Wargames and Mafia Games. It's a struggle between me and ImperialShadows. You should read the entire game of Noir Mafia, it's really very enternaining. Anyway, I am still known as WhiteFang. Quote
ILikePi Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Wow, these look great! I hope that these nice little mini sets will be sold worldwide like a regular set! Quote
Piranha Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 They are ok, main reason is, they are Fire, Police, Hospital and Construction Instead they could have been civilian related like a postal deliveryman a hobo, a person riding a bike or something along those lines Sure they are a cute but I am tired of seeing those 4 categories Good thing they are only promos I hope they at least do something better for the impulse city sets Oh and thanks for sharing these Quote
