The curse of Admiral M's LDD WIP MOC's of Doom srikes again!

And this time, it's with 3 new fort WIP's. I need to decide which format I should use for my port's central defence. It will be mounted on a 64x64 baseplate, and be flanked by 2 neighborhoods. For the purpose of not cluttering this thread with so many pictures as I usually do, I just pit teaser pics in the post. You can see the full gallery here. So , without further ado, I present;

Fortress #1: Castle Fort

(for more Pictures, see screenshots 178-183)

Pros:

It's square, and has a good hight for it's purpose, since my port's buildings will be mounted 2.33 studs above the baseplate.

Provides many areas for cannons and soldiers to be placed.

Ramp provides access to water.

Cons:

Wouldn't entirely fit on a 64x64 base, so there would be extra room.

Fortress #2: Sloped Fort:

Pros:

Fits completely on a 64x64 baseplate.

Room to mount many cannon.

It's a realistic star(ish) fort.

Cons:

Slopes are wicked expensive nowadays.

Fortress #3: Tower and Courtyard:

Pros:

Lots of room for interior in main tower.

Lots of room in the courtyard for training, ect.

Cons:

Courtyard walls are thin, only one stud, and can only support 1 minifig (though that can be changed)

Walls are not at an adequet hight to connect to the main town.

The whole structure is 60x60, do isn't quite big enough.

So, in your opinion, which is the nicest fort? Feel free to give comments and critisism, or post pictures of your own forts!

I think they are all very cool designs. The second is my favorite (although I am not familiar with a 64x64 base plate?). You can also use the 1x2 sloped wall technique I used in my fort to cut down on the use of 75 degree sloped. You probably can't do it digitally but with real bricks it is easy.

What I really mean is a 64x64 base, made up of four 32x32 baseplates.

If I do use that model, I'm defenitely doing that! Thanks for the tip. You're right, it's impossible to do in LDD.

I like the castle fort the best, but the sloped one is definitely the hardest to defeat.

The sloped fortress is the hardest to defeat, but I really like the third one as well. I was thinking on building a fort like that myself.

I think the sloped fort is the best. I think that one is the most specific for this time period, though it could use something to make it look a bit more complex and interesting. But the other ones are nice too.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! For my latest WIP, port St. Brick, I shall be using fort 2, with an added lookout tower in the back-left corner. I shall keep the other 2 designs, and maybe use them in other MOCs.

ive got a version of the 3rd one sitting on my desk, though since its only part of a fort(i might make other parts at a diffrent time) it only has little room for a small store with a tower.

the walk way is 7 wide so that patrols can pass cannons easyly.

i need the dock/fort set to finish it off with the large flag and more pieces for the tower.

the sloped one is expencive to do with slopes but hinges and plates would work.
