WhiteFang Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Hey everyone, Today, I took some quiet time of my own, and set up a small town street display, featuring our Classic-Town.net bloggers and some of the sigfigs which I have been collecting for awhile, and its still far from completion. It has been a long time since I have ever done some simple layout, due to lack of space and time. It was fun, taking these various shots, lining up the minifigs, taking them out from the containers. It's not really very unique, but I hope all of you will find this enjoyable to view as I have try to integrate using 3 various theme elements to combine together, showcasing the Classic Town police station, City vehicles and Creator house. I don't know if it is able to demostrate the beauty and simple touch of how a bustling streets should look like. You might feel confused, as in why the bloggers are in the limelight. Well, let's said this is a mystery yet to be solved. I will leave it to your imagination. My first town street display The bloggers behind Classic-Town.net Some familar faces What's going on??? Special news coverage done by Staudie, EB News Team Keep on reading Classic-Town.net for more new coverage! Pictures can be found in My Brickshelf (When moderated) PS: Erdbeereis and LuxorV was actually blocked by CopMike. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 (edited) That's a very nice and funny layout, WhiteFang! I really like it! It's nice and funny to see all these well-known sig-figs in this layout. Many thanks for including my sig-fig in the layout, too. The big dumper looks imo unfitting because its much too big size in comparison to all the other contents of your layout. Otherwise it's great to see that old great police station, the little yellow car, the CG quadbike, the brilliant blue car from the awesome 10184 Town Plan and the nice Creator house. Very well done! Btw: If you've got time please check out Legostadt, my Lego City layout, too. Klaus-Dieter Edited September 5, 2009 by Klaus-Dieter Quote

Thanks K.D for your kind comments. I always enjoyed reading your feedback, as you provide honest truthful thoughts. I agreed with the Big Dumper truck. Actually, I just built this, and was playing around for the first time, and I was surprised that it was so big, compared to my other small 4-wide vehicles. I didn't know where is my Classic Town dump truck, so I used this as a subsitute instead. I am glad you enjoyed viewing this fusion table display. It was my first attempt to do such scene, and I wanted to integrate our community members into the scene to make it lively, and of course to showcase our Classic-Town.net bloggers. I forgot to upload this picture, will update it in first post, Quote
mikey Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 You have created a great scence here, but I have one little request... As you have unpacked and built your Classic Police Station, do you think you could take more pictures of this great set? I had this set as a child, and seeing it now has brought back many good memories... Unfortunatley for me I gave away my childhood Lego many years ago. If you had time a review would be great, but I would be happy with just a few more pictures! Quote

This Classic Town police station has many beautiful childhood memories of mine. The orignal set which I owned is in shambles, while this set is an used set that I have bought over in eBay for a reasonable price to restore my childhood collection. I am doing this step by step, hoping to restore my first childhood tabletop display that I used to build with my father. If you had time a review would be great, but I would be happy with just a few more pictures! I will do it, but you must give me time to do the photos, setting up and writing. This set, is definitely on my future reviews list. At this moment, I have kept everything back in my storage containers, so it might take awhile. Quote

Shadows Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Wow, what a nice start to your town, and a familiar cast of rogues and villains nice people! Thanks for sharing this! I wonder what you could possibly have planned for the future. I think we should stay tuned for more updates! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Looks like you are up to something Bonafang, perhaps its a recruitment drive! I knew all this time Sly Owl had a wooden leg! I even managed to spot myself in the mix, you got it down perfect too, thanks. So how long till this will be packed away? Quote
WhiteFang Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 I wonder what you could possibly have planned for the future. I think we should stay tuned for more updates! I have not completely decided yet, due to lack of space and time, but what I have done, is a start to experiment something, with the sigfigs that I have been collecting so far, and attempting to do my first town street display. I believed I have to do it on the floor next time. The table is simply too small. Looks like you are up to something Bonafang, perhaps its a recruitment drive! Perhaps it is. I knew all this time Sly Owl had a wooden leg! I can't be sure on this, but I saw his complete sigfig before, with the wooden pegleg. I even managed to spot myself in the mix, you got it down perfect too, thanks. Glad I have gotten it right. So how long till this will be packed away? Actually, I have kept it, as I can't let it out in the open for too long, but I hope the next time I take it out, I can do it even bigger. It was fun doing all of this. Quote
Dragonator Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Very nice Fangy, you have a sizable collection of SigFigs there, including a couple of handsome looking lads (doesn;t everyone just love black? ). EB News is on the case I see! I love town layouts, I want to build my own eventually, when I can find the space. Quote
KimT Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Wow, it must have taken quite a while to acquire all the parts for those sig-figs. A neat little setup you've got there. Do you intend to expand it with more City/Town/Train sets? Quote
Erdbeereis Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Very nice Fangy! Thanks for including me. You have an awesome collection of sig-figs, I wish I had a few more EBers to mutilate "play with". I hope to see some updates on this in the future. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Excellent WF! I love it. Great job finding all of the our avatars/sig figs. What an ugly bunch of coconuts - and I'm just talking about Hinckley and Shadows. That's a great scene, and I look forward to seeing more of us in acation. Nice job! EDIT: But where's the train? Quote
Davey Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 This is just so cool! Made my day WF. I love it when people incorporate my sig-fig into scenes. It just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. It's a really nice looking classic scene and I'm excited to see what you have in store for our siggy's. Again, great work. -Dave Quote

EB News is on the case I see! I love town layouts, I want to build my own eventually, when I can find the space. Thanks Draggy. I remember in a distant past, you used to have some town related stuff, before you start going medieval, in your earlier EB days. I will look forward to your City setup once more, where you used to host one crazy party at Cafe Corner. Wow, it must have taken quite a while to acquire all the parts for those sig-figs.A neat little setup you've got there. Do you intend to expand it with more City/Town/Train sets? Thanks KimT! Indeed, I am expanding and going to expand somemore, by trying to integrate these 3 themes together, as yesterday was an experiment to play around, but I got some bigger plans for my setup, once I can consolidate my sets together somehow, with greater space. There are more to come, as I have more free time in the future. Thanks for including me. You have an awesome collection of sig-figs, I wish I had a few more EBers to mutilate "play with". Thanks Erdy. Err, I supposed you are thinking of ripping someone? But I don't know whom you want to target at? Excellent WF! I love it. Great job finding all of the our avatars/sig figs. What an ugly bunch of coconuts - and I'm just talking about Hinckley and Shadows. That's a great scene, and I look forward to seeing more of us in acation. Nice job! Thanks Brickster! It was not easy, but I intending to get Hinck sigfig right. I need to get his headpiece right. I think its great to have you guys inside my small little town, where adventure is part of our daily events. I do have some nice actions planned in the future. EDIT: But where's the train? Err, I haven't started to build those trains yet. It looks wierd without a train station for the passengers to dock, but I am sure train will be part of my setup next time. This is just so cool! Made my day WF. I love it when people incorporate my sig-fig into scenes. It just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. It's a really nice looking classic scene and I'm excited to see what you have in store for our siggy's. Again, great work. Woo hoo, glad I made your day right. Apologises, that I put the pouch on the wrong side, but I am glad to have gotten your hairpiece right. It's great to have the complete collection of our current Classic Town bloggers. Quote
Hinckley Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Hey Fangaroo! This is awesome. I really like the Classic-Town layout. You've chosen some nice old and news sets to create the atmosphere and seeing all of our EB friends in the street scene is really cool! Love it, buddy! Quote
Alice Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 You are awesome Fangy! I am definitely honored to be a part of this group. I was going to show you my current display!!! I don't have room for anything large but I keep a display in my living room because it makes me smile. I could put together some more sigfigs but I have a limited selection of parts so I keep mine and Shadow's in a home of some kind in some sort of pose. We recently moved out of the beach house and into the family home, despite it also looking like a summer home because I built the villa. I really need to MOC us a house. I recently bought the stegasaurus too and I loved him so much I had to find a way to fit him into my display. He's minifig scale, right? I mean... Shadows fits in his mouth. He tries with all his might to fight off Steggy with his black shortsword while I stand and watch helplessly! (Needless to say, my picture taking ability remains subpar and I need more light.) Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Nevermind that Shadows is in the mouth of the beast - cute house Alice. You might try using your flash though; it may help your image quality. Quote

It's was enjoyable to see some familar faces in my friendly neighbourhood. Hoping to integrate more of you guys in there, and setting up a larger scene too. You are awesome Fangy! Aww, I want that Family Home and I do think it's a neat and simple display. Very nice to look at, after a busy day of work to get yourself wind down. I think it's a great pose to get Shadows in that fix. Pretty much can imagine how he could react. He tries with all his might to fight off Steggy with his black shortsword while I stand and watch helplessly! Never mind, you can leave him there. I think he is fitting from that angle. If I have my sigfig there, I will stand and watch helplessly. Quote
Svelte Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 I KEEP HEARING ABOUT REVIEWS OF THESE SETS BUT I DON'T SEE ANY, PRINCESS. Get crackin'. Quote
Batbrick Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Late to the party! Honestly Whitefang I'm sorry I missed this, I really, really need to visit the Twon forum more often! Love this classic little setup, I especially appreciate all the little sigfigs, most of which I recognise. I love the use of the white Creator house, I love those and have bought all except the new Tan one, which I find a bit expensive. What year is that police station set from? My cousins used to have the same one, but now it is in pieces. I'm quite surprised at how the recent and older sets you've chosen blend, this must be expanded! I must say I'm quite jealous of your road pieces, I embarrassingly have yet to get any Also, apparently your nickname is Fangaroo now, I must have missed that memo Oh, and purely for bragging purposes, it was actually I who invented Dragonator's sigfig! Muhahaha! Batbrick-Must-Visit-Town-(and Fangaroo)-More! Quote
