-JD- Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 I was at downtown Disney last night, and got 3. Even Had Fig's in them (SW figs! ) What sort? Clones? Jedi? Quote
Asterios Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 keep an eye on the stores displays, when the displays are replaced with new ones then grab bags are coming out very soon if not already since the grab bags are mostly made up of the store displays. Quote
legokitty Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 My store in Columbus said that they fill the bags with store displays and returned items. In January they filled the grab bags with a few Mindstorms units that were returned:) Quote
Legoman Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 What sort? Clones? Jedi? I got A SBD, BD, plus a few other non-complete, non SW figs Quote
k_peek_2000 Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Last night I got 3 grab bags at the Anaheim lego store (with Legoman) and I got 2 star wars figs, a Chancellor Palpatine, from 8039 Vernator and a Royal Guard with 2 helmets. Not to Shabby :) Quote
Oky Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Where do you find grab bags in the Anaheim store? I always check, but I can never find them. Do you ask for them? If so, what do you say? "Where do you have your grab bags" seems like an awkward thing to ask to me for some reason. By the way, I wouldn't mind meeting some of you guys there sometime, so if you want to meet me, let me know when you go there. Quote

I made the most of the opportunity, seeing as I had an incredably limited time in the US. Got a bit in the US actully.... I'll probably share some crazy pics later. It would have been great to meet more of you - I didn't realize so many people lived there! Mabye another time.... in a few years My grab bags were actully quite dissapointing. I got a total of 14. All from Anaheim. I got some PAB at glendale, but they have no Grab bags. For all you Anaheimers. They Don't have grab bags out. You have to ask. And ask Rachel. Shes the nice one. She'll make them up for you on the spot. Most others say they have none... When I finish sorting I'll update you all... Quote
ThatGuy66 Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 At the Lego store where I work (I won't say which one) we only rarely put out grab bags. The parts mostly come from the PaB wall. When there aren't enough parts in a bin on the wall to make it look nicely filled and we don't have any more of that part in the back, it goes into a big bin we have in the back. When that is full, we empty it into grab bags (as people have noted, we usually do two large cups full per bag) and put them out. Every time I've seen them put out they have all sold that day or the next. While we do put damaged sets in there, it is only if none of the employees want them. It is VERY rare that a licensed set, ESPECIALLY star wars, will make it into the bin. Furthermore, most returns, at least at my store, are not damaged and go right back on the shelf. Quote

I guess it varies, As I got recognisably parts to two sets in my Grab Bags. Both a Venator and an AAT... Including some of the figs for both those sets... Quote
LordVuppy Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Awesome! I'll be sure to get some on the day that lego has scratch coupons. Quote
Condor Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 (edited) This was my haul last year. I picked up the last two bags at my local store There are 17 black torsos I think from Space Skulls, 250 red 1x1 bricks and about 125 brown 2x4 plates along with the other random stuff. Edited November 17, 2010 by Condor Quote
BrickArtist Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Hahaha, I remember that space skull set. nobody wanted it so it went dirt cheap . These grab bags look great! I'm gonna look out for these next time im in a pick-a-brick outlet. One thing i have noticed about the outlets is the pick-a-brick station at the back of the store give some amazing deals! last time i was in there i got one of those eight dollar tubs, and if your methodical putting the bricks in(small pieces at the bottom, little pieces in the space between big pieces, and flexy pieces on the top so you can jam the top on :laugh then you can get a real bang for your buck. Also avoid the big tubs, much better deal for two little ones. Quote
meyerc13 Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Those bags are incredible. I've heard of them, but never actually seen any. Would anyone know if they exist at the Minnesota Mall of America LEGO store? For 7.99 apiece, that's quite a deal. I get to the Mall of America LEGO store about 4-5 times per year. I've only seen grab bags on one of my trips, about a year ago as I recall. At that time the bags seemed to have a lot of pieces from the Winter Toy Shop set. Quote
Pingles Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 $7.99 a bag at the Valley Fair, CA store. About 30 bags there. Probably five people inspecting them. :) I grabbed two at random just for kicks. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 These are the bags full of random bricks, right? They have those at other times, too. I believe they contain the bricks from past displays of sets. Quote
Legoman Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Different stores do Grab bags differently, Some use leftovers from the PAB wall, some use Returned sets, others use ex-display models. One thing's for sure, They're the best way to get mixed parts for a very good price. There's a topic all about it here Quote
just2good Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Yea, there's a few of those on sale in the Sawgrass Florida store. The pieces looked pretty consistent in each bag. Quote
Jay Sathe Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 They always have them at the Valley Fair store, but you sometimes have to ask an employee. Quote

Pingles Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Was amazed by the volume of Lego in the two bags. Pepsi can used for scale :) Stunning. Wish I had grabbed more bags. Quote
Vindicare Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Looks like you got some pieces from 5887, Dino Defense HQ there. And a PQ(?) quad, nice. If I were a MOCer, I'd be all over these. They're great deals. Quote
Lego_Hero Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 (edited) I got two complete Ben 10 figures in one bag last time. I passed up a bag once that seemed to be all random decorated tiles. I wish I'd picked that one up. Edited January 3, 2012 by Lego_Hero Quote

Dakar A Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Something similar happened to me at the Cincinati Lego store last week. I was doing a PAB large cup and they had a large cardboard box filled with the pars from 6 or so WV Post Offices, so needles to say, I began filling up on light bricks, windows (In brown ) and dark green peices. It was an AMAZING deal, and it seems that if timed just right, this would be a great oppritunity for all. P.S. I went on christmas eve, iin the early morning. Dakar Quote
