Artizan Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 As a mechanized army of Trade Federation battle droids descends on planet Naboo, the reclusive Gungan and Naboo people decide to take arms against the enemy invaders and defend their peaceful homeland. Now you can join the battle against the Federation by assembling this 68-piece Naboo Battle Pack LEGO set. Part of the LEGO Star Wars: Episode I series, the set is easy to assemble and comes with an illustrated, step-by-step instruction booklet. Along with three Gungan and one Naboo guard minifigures, the set includes one ostrichlike Kaadu, and cart for carrying weapons and a Naboo Gian speeder. You can place the Gungan figures on any flat surface, or snap them easily into place on top of the Kaadu mount. I always believed Episode 1 Lego line is underdone and needed more inspirational sets such as battlepacks, I know Gungans aren't the most popular folks out there but they had a grand army and so needed a battlepack of this kind. To create a more diversive battlepack, I decided to add a Naboo security guard and make it a Naboo battlepack instead of a Gungan one. Hope you like it! Piece #: 68 (Picture is a link to the gallery) Enjoy Quote
DarthPineapple Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Wow, really cool! Where is that torso from the middle gungan in pic 2 from? Quote
Artizan Posted September 12, 2009 Author Posted September 12, 2009 thanks a lot. that torso is the indian shaman's torso from western series. Quote
VBBN Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Nice! Very creative for a 70 piece limit. If I had any gungans that's what my battlepack would be. But even if I did this would be great competition. Quote
Fumoffu Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Very nice BP. It'll be a great BP for those who joined Lego SW late and missed out on the original Gungan minifigures. Quote
I Scream Clone Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Great creation Artizan, though I don't think it would sell as well as Stormtroopers or Clones it is a well rounded and designed set considering the part limitation. Good Luck. Quote
RileyC Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Very nice I would love to have a naboo battle pack in the future. I like the speeder, the blue looks really good but im not sure about the guns sticking out the side it just doesn't look right. I like your choice of minifigs with just one minifig being a bit different just like in mist battle packs. Its also really good that you included a kaadu in their as-well. good luck! Quote
CommanderFox Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 This is a really nice Entry! The Gungans are well done and the Naboo Guard is Really nice! the speeder and the other things a Really cool aswell! Good luck! CommanderFox Quote
ADHO15 Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Very nice work, Artizan! I'd have made a similar entry to this if I had the parts and the money. The speeder looks really sleek and Naboo-like. The kaadu is a nice addition too. Great figs as well. Good luck. Quote
Commander Flash Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I love it. Its a good way to collect gungans, and it includes good pieces that don't count over 70 pieces. The speeder is great Quote
Rufus Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Great idea, great set! I have no Gungans: I'd buy this for sure. the 1999 box art. [JarJar] Weesa got a grand army! [/JarJar] Only criticism: the Naboo soldier looks a bit of an add-on, but I guess he adds variety. Quote
pedro Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Nice work Artizan! I agree Episode I could do with some extra love (desite being less popular) and this battle pack would be superb for starters. I especially like your speeder; creating a battle pack version of the Gian speeder was a great idea, it looks cool and really accurate despite slight scale difference. I like the Gungan Atlatl too - nice use for a flick-fire Best o' luck in the contest! Quote
Artizan Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 thanks a lot for the nice comments, guys. Only criticism: the Naboo soldier looks a bit of an add-on, but I guess he adds variety. yeah that and he makes it a Naboo battle pack instead of a Gungan battlepack. Quote
Forresto Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 This is really nice, probably best executed BP considering the piece limit. I also really like that you have the phantom menace's box art instead of Clone Wars, it's a nice change in pace. It makes me want Lego to come out with more Phantom Menace sets. Quote
the horrorist Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 This is one of my favorites. Nice selection of figs in nice colours. Finally something to set-up against my 2 MTT's. Quote
Rook Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 I love it. I had actually thought about doing Naboo but decided against because of this rule. No large parts - it's a Battle Pack and should resemble existing BP's in size and contents. Quote
KimT Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Rules Of Entry: 4 Minifigs - brickbuilt minifigs counts a minifig (no more, no less). 50-70 Parts (minifigs not included). Custom minifigs and accessories allowed (Brickforge, Brickarms and so forth). No clone brand parts (megablocks, blocko and so forth). No baseplates (or large parts like BURP). S@H-like Description (check the descriptions on shop.lego.com for inspiration). Own motivation for creating set (why these figs and accessories?). Max 5 pictures from different angles - One of which should be a box diplay/image. Please include a link to off-site folder with more pics or higher resolution pictures (optional). Max picture resolution is 800x600. No large parts - it's a Battle Pack and should resemble existing BP's in size and contents. Only one entry per member. 'Real' entries only - no digital entries. Entry has to be a new MOC. Nice Naboo BP. It would surely reignite the possibility of making a new wave of EpI sets. Quote
Artizan Posted September 28, 2009 Author Posted September 28, 2009 thanks for the comments guys. also thanks KimT, so no problem with the entry, great! Quote
