Sandy Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 So, when will the prince of persia sets be released? I thought it might be in April but, that is pure speculation. Has anybody heard anything from Lego? It's not speculation. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 I think the castle set is shown off well in this picture: The building looks good, and the courtyard itself is not too cramped. I especially like that the building is raised off the ground with stairs leading up to it, it gives it a majestic feel I think. Of all the PoP sets, this one looks best to me since it really captures a middle-eastern feel and is the best for the set. All of the sets come with nice figures, but this one comes with a beautiful set as well. Quote
CMP Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 A bit smaller than I expected, but the palace looks great from this angle! If you got these from the NY fair, were there any other sets shown? Quote
ziljin Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 The horse is back in the set? Awesome. I definitely need to buy multiples of set. I still have my christmas money saved up, looks like its going to be spent on buying up PoP sets for assassins and Persian warriors and what I believe is a new horse. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 More new, very crisp pics in FBTB's photostream. Check it out, everything looks as expected so far. Quote
brickzone Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Quite disappointed that it is indeed a new colour and not dark orange. I was really hoping to have some more dark orange, and also having another colour is awkward (until sufficient quantity of it). Still I guess it suits the desert setting more. The Battle for Alamut from all angles looks even more impressive than before! Quite an amazing set! Quote

Still I guess it suits the desert setting more. The Battle for Alamut from all angles looks even more impressive than before! Quite an amazing set! Yeah, I kind of agree about the colour. I really like dark orange and would like to get more of it. The new colour doesn't look bad or anything but I think it's kind of unnecessary Tan and dark tan would have worked good too I think. I would rather have seen a colour that is suited for bricks (not LEGO bricks, the kind you build real houses with ), that's something that would be extremely useful. But anyway, the sets looks great and I will probably like the new colour better when I've got some of it myself. Quote
Svelte Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 I wouldn't have minded if the colour was dark orange, but maybe the designers thought it was just too bright/ bold for the set overall. I think we won't really get a feel for how it works until it's in our hot little hands! It looks like the new shade is in use in the Harry Potter Burrows set so it looks like it will become more plentiful as time goes on. Quote
Jack Bricker Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Well I have to say that I am very pleased with the new colors and the overall appearance. They look absolutly fabulous and I just can't wait to get them. Quote
brickzone Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 It has been suggested to me that the "new" colour is in fact Dark Nougat, by reason of what is in the photos seeming to match Vernon Dursley's hair in the earlier Escape from Privet Drive Harry Potter set. At least Dark Nougat is what Peeron list it as - Bricklink erroneously have that hair piece as Earth Orange (if you own it, you'll know it is not). Dark Nougat has according to Peeron not made many other outings, confined to that Dursley hair, a piece or two of Duplo and some Belville horses. This also tallies with Dark Nougat appearing in the recent Lego colour chart of colours in production. Quote
CMP Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Interesting piece of info, brickzone. You may have solved the whole color thing. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 This also tallies with Dark Nougat appearing in the recent Lego colour chart of colours in production. I don't see 'dark' nougat on the color chart. Perhaps it is regular nougat. Quote
Batbrick Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Loving the look of Prince of Persia, especially that massive set that's tempting me. The whole theme has really blown me away, I never expected them to have so many juicy figs and parts, nor such fun construction! Batbrick Away! Quote
Jack Bricker Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Does anybody know the exact day in April that the Prince of Persia Sets will be released? Quote
Etzel Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Does anybody know the exact day in April that the Prince of Persia Sets will be released? I don't think we've ever had exact dates for a theme release. They can come any day in the month or even some days before in certain countries and stores, it varies. As far as I know only exclusive sets gets an exact release day because then LEGO can control it by themselves. Quote
hewkii9 Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Is Dark Nougat the same as Metru Brown, from the 04-05 Bionicle sets? Quote
CMP Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Is Dark Nougat the same as Metru Brown, from the 04-05 Bionicle sets? 95% no. TLC wouldn't revive a color from 5 years ago. Quote
Aanchir Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 95% no. TLC wouldn't revive a color from 5 years ago. Technically, it's not just from 5 years ago-- the brown color from 2004-2005 BIONICLE it was used as a flesh tone in the Arkham Asylum set. However, no, that's not dark nougat. That color is called simply "brown" by LEGO. I have no idea what "Dark Nougat" has been used for, although I would hazard a guess that it's something Duplo (since it's being used this year but we haven't seen any real sign of it in System). Oky Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 (edited) So, when will the prince of persia sets be released? I thought it might be in April but, that is pure speculation. Has anybody heard anything from Lego? It's not speculation. If you need any more proof, the S@H catalog for April has PoP on the cover, as seen on this store calendar. Jack Bricker Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Yeah I know it isn't speculation now but, when I made that post it was. Does anybody have an idea when in April they will release it. I have been saving and waiting hard to get them and I would like to know when my suffering and torment will be over. Quote
Sandy Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Yeah I know it isn't speculation now but, when I made that post it was. Does anybody have an idea when in April they will release it. We've known about the April release since last year, so it hasn't been speculation for a long time. Also, your question was answered just in the last page; there are no set dates for LEGO releases, just approximate months. It depends on the individual stores when exactly they will put the products on their selves, so you just have to keep looking when April comes. Quote

Well, according to the calendar I linked to above, the S@H catalog with the PoP sets comes out on March 28, so I think it's safe to say that the sets will be out by then. Also, you can always ask your local stores if they can tell you when they will have them. Quote

Looking forward to that! A little bit disappointed at the non-use of earth orange... but I'll live. Quote
