Batbrick Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 And again: THIS IS JUST MY THOUGHTS. Sorry to tell you this and shatter your psyche, but they really aren't your thoughts; I've been controlling your thoughts for some time now, Muhahaha! :skull: Seriously though I could possible see it happening, but ultimately I don't think it will as it seems TLC bases their games on either long-standing themes or famous franchises that have longstanding success. Batbrick Away! Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I love the looks of these prelim figs. I'm now considering making a Persian army with these guys. Quote
sok117 Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Hey guys Im a new member here at eurobricks and recently in canada it was take your kid to work day for the grade nines, and since my mom knows the general manager of lego canada i got to go to the office building where they do all the marketing and lucky for me they have a showroom that had some if not all the new products for 2010 . I managed to get a sneak peek at lego before it comes out and there were some pieces in the PoP line that really caught my Eye For one there will be a new backpack piece that can hold two lego katanas crossed on someones back , i dont know if it is a prototype but it was made out of the rubbery plastic they used for indiana jones' man purse. they also have these neat dagger fists similar to wolverines claws fro the X-men (I see a lot of Mocs in the future) the figs really look great in person and i think this is going to be a promising theme for the new year, the sets overall looked like they have great playability features as well as some well designed traps -Sok117 Quote

Thanks for the news- everyone always appreciates it when someone who has seen the new sets or minifigures tells us. I believe we have already found pictures of the rubbery katana holder. I'm not sure about the dagger, but it sounds good. I'm definitely looking forward to this line- thanks for the news! Quote

The Who Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 So, there still isn't any more news or new pics for PoP yet? Quote
Svelte Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 So, there still isn't any more news or new pics for PoP yet? No; I'm beginning to think it's cancelled LEGO has been really tight with images this year. Normally we would have had a whole heap of stuff way before then. I think we will have to wait for a catalogue to be sent to customers (there's an Aus/ NZ one due sometime this month) to get full pics. Quote

Hopefully, if we have to rely on a catalogue, they will send them soon. Only seeing one set from a new theme really makes you wonder if the rest of the theme can be judged/predicted by this set. chris_austin Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Prince of Persia Description from Amazon.com: Set includes 7 minifigures: Dastan, Seso, Nizam, Giant Semitar Hassansin , Razor Glove Hassansin and two soldiers Functions: Secret door, small catapults, fire barrel drop, Secret stairs (comes out of the wall so Dastan can run up and surprise the enemy) Studs on walls and columns to encourage parkoir play Hiding place for the secret dagger, Dagger of Time, camel and cross bow included It's nothing major and i'm sorry if it has been mentioned already (first post hasn't been corrected so I assume not!) but sure that this word is supposed to be Parkour, lots of SNOT to encourage Parkour play within the set. Just like the game and movie. I'm not sure why that particular word has been chosen and not some other word/s. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Well I must have been lucky, I've seen a page of a dealers flyer containing all POP sets. 7573 is just simply AWESOME ! The detail in it is very cool, lots of beige used and careful placement of brown 1x4 mod. bricks as part of the walls. Also a flick missile lauching weapon on old wagon wheels. Dam thats all I can remember now. Quote
Oky Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 So, there still isn't any more news or new pics for PoP yet? Well, this is old and nothing special, but I don't think it has been posted yet: 7573 is just simply AWESOME! Can you at least tell us how big it was, what kind of baseplate it was on, or what kind of building it was? Quote

Gee, I think about the size of the Troll Fortress of this year, with the old castle doors in brown I think, also I saw a total of 6 gonbads (thanks, wikiapedia), front wall for defence then another behind it which would be the saltan's palace it's self. Dam I need to see that picture again. I hope that helps a bit more. Quote
Svelte Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 If anyone has the new Aus/ NZ catalogue with pics of the Jan releases, please scan or take decent, clear pics and post here! Thanks! Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 (edited) If anyone has the new Aus/ NZ catalogue with pics of the Jan releases, please scan or take decent, clear pics and post here! Thanks! Just got mine today. All they've got is a 'coming soon' poster, although a section of a set can be seen (Battle of Alamut?). Looks like Dastan may have a double sided head too. Interesting too that the old scimitar is being used again. Edited December 12, 2009 by TinyPiesRUs Quote

I was really hoping for some proper set pics to get me through the next few months. All this Toy Story and Ben 10 stuff is doing my head in! Give me some normal figs, pleeeeeease! Quote
Tinn-man Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 I see how it is, LEGO. You'll bring back the Scimitar back, make camels, and even mould a new turban for Prince of Persia, but not for Indiana Jones. Disney must be giving you a little bit of a better deal than Lucasarts. Well, at least were getting them. I'll just be able to have more pieces for my Indiana Jones mocs. Quote
Oky Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Thanks for that pic! Looks pretty cool. I'm curious to see the entire set. I wouldn't be so sure about a double sided head. He could just have a different head in this particular set, kinda like Indy does in the current sets. You'll bring back the Scimitar back, make camels, and even mould a new turban for Prince of Persia, but not for Indiana Jones. Yeah, what's up with that? They did a similar thing with SW when they released the Echo Base set this year with old style rebels only to release a battle pack with new rebels half a year after that. Quote

'Oky Wan Kenobi' I believe what I saw was 7573 Battle Of Almut, a very large set. Quote
Princess Muttonchops Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Oh boy oh boy oh boy, I can't wait for these sets to come out so I can me some ostriches and camels! (jumps up and down, giggling with excitement). Quote
Fluyt Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 (edited) Oooo, dark orange, I like. Or at least it seems to be dark orange. Not too crazy about some of the new parts though (like the hats, but the dromedary looks pretty good). Edited December 12, 2009 by Fluyt Quote
DJ Force Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Is that a new hairpiece? Looks really good! Been waiting for some proper long male hairpieces....! Quote
