EspEth12 Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Alright what is the deal here? The two big power miners aren't available in the USA! I certainly hope that they are just really late with the release, and it's not that they won't be coming out at all! Otherwise TLC will be hearing from me! :skull: I feel the same about the sets not being released yet. Quote
TheBrickDaddy Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 But does anyone have any info? Anything at all? Quote
UsernameMDM Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I really hope they are available in the USA. I really want a couple of those Eruptorrs! Quote
dabulls03 Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 But does anyone have any info? Anything at all? I haven't seen the two larger Power Miners sets anywhere either, but the smaller two seem to be at all the retailers. Personally, I think that we will get the two larger Power Miner sets in the US, we'll just get them latter. I don't think that the two larger sets are supposed to be availible anywhere; just look on the LEGO website page for Power Miners, only the two small sets are listed. Quote
Aanchir Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Just picked up the Crystal King and Fire Blaster yesterday. Both are impressive; Crystal King is a lot better than I had expected from either official pics or photo reviews. Hope the same can be said of all of this year's sets. It'd be awesome if there were a giant, Crystal King-sized Lava Monster this year, but regrettably I've got a feeling we'd know about summer Power Miners sets if there were any. It's a real pity, because I'm not sure when we can next expect to see LEGO use the awesome rock/crystal detail panels and head design from the Crystal King. Fire Blaster is cool as well, but really not much different than I expected. I've got mixed emotions about the new Lava Monsters. While they look awesome on their own, their eyes are so different from those of regular Rock Monsters that it's hard to appreciate the two when standing side by side. One thing's for sure: I like the "cracked" appearance of the black body printing-- where the original Rock Monsters had solid chunks of rock on all the raised areas, the Lava Monsters have cracks in these areas, really giving the appearance of cooled lava. Who else can't wait for a full-length animation of the Lava Monsters? The 2009 Power Miners commercials were incredibly fun, so I'm hoping for the same of 2010 advertisements. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) I agree- The eyes on the new small monster looks like they have boring time down there... I don't care about miners and their machines... They are just an addition to the Monsters Anyone seen the newest Eeaster "crystal" egg: It's that a pic from game or trailer? Who knows... (Please be new Rock Riders like game) Edited January 25, 2010 by Lordofdragonss Quote
Bfahome Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 It's that a pic from game or trailer? Who knows... (Please be new Rock Riders like game) Hopefully something related to Universe. Quote
Delta 38 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 It's that a pic from game or trailer? Who knows... (Please be new Rock Riders like game) Looks like a prototype image of the Magma Mech to me. It seems like some parts are discoloured. That's my guess, anyway. Quote
Andeh Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Looks like a prototype image of the Magma Mech to me. It seems like some parts are discoloured. That's my guess, anyway. I think it's for the Power Miner movie for the lava series. I think the reason it is discoloured is that the light and darkness in the cave made it look that way. Quote
Omicron Squad Leader Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 If you guys want, i'll take some pics of the Claw catcher and Lavatraz! Or you can watch my reviews of them on youtube! Just search 'jimnbobproductions' to find me! Quote
Delta 38 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 (edited) I think it's for the Power Miner movie for the lava series. I think the reason it is discoloured is that the light and darkness in the cave made it look that way. Well, what I believe is water appears white, and the lights on the front are white, too. I don't think this is the reason. On the other hand, I've thought over my decision again... I think it's a prototype render of something we'll see in the future. People have suggested games, but I don't think so. If it's a prototype, then it definitely explains the discoloured pieces. EDIT: yay! 100th post, and now I'm officially a citizen. Just a bit of self-promotion. =P Edited February 8, 2010 by Delta 38 Quote
Delta 38 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 This is it. Erm, what? That aside, has anyone noticed that even on Lego's Shop at Home site, the red lava monster is replaced (again!) by the red rock monster? It's pretty old news, but it's still there, and the site's not been updated yet. Quote
metalandi Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) Here's some new pictures from the claw catcher: Edited February 15, 2010 by metalandi Quote
TheBrickDaddy Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 (edited) Thanks for the pics. But honest to freaking god, if the two large Power Miners aren't released in the US soon, I'll need a new way to vent my anger besides slashing my neighbor's car tires pulling the fire alarm at the office sending Tiger Woods angry letters crying myself to sleep. Oky Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 (edited) Since no one seems to have bothered posting them, here are the two new keychains: Too bad the miner doesn't come with armor. That would have been a nice way of acquiring some. I guess BL is still the best way of getting one. At least it comes with the visor. But then again, that one is probably glued... Aanchir Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I just saw these at a Lego Store -- the visor is glued on. So you can't even open or close it? That's pretty lame. Of course, back in my childhood when I used to have a bunch of LEGO keychains they'd always be breaking or parts would be stolen, so I guess gluing the visor isn't a bad idea. Quote
Delta 38 Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Hey, if anyone's interested, I've found the source of that image a few pages back! A new Power Miners game! It appears to be a pac-man styled game. Quote
Aanchir Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Just finished watching The Adventures of Clutch Powers, which is absolutely epic. But the main memory that surfaces for me is probably OMG BABY ROCK MONSTER It's made of rocks but somehow I still want to hug it... I couldn't help but make it my new avatar. Quote

Delta 38 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Hmm, I heard a rumour (hasn't got a source, so likely to be false) that Power Miners could be revived late this year or next year. I wonder if this is true? If it is, then it'll probably be updated, e.g. Agents and Agents 2.0 (is there a difference?). Quote

The only reason why LEGO even released any this year is because last year the theme sold surprisingly well. Quote
