Brickthing Posted September 25, 2009 Author Posted September 25, 2009 Hopefully it doesn't, because the rock monster is exactly the same, only with different colours. It would be nice to get the recoloured crystal/rock parts, but not in the form of a simple recolour. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 (edited) "Once agin Clutch powers gets the job done." LOL!------- oops sorry but I really don't think an orange crystal king really means anything with the upcoming sets, I mean it could but who knows. I doubt it. There were many things in that video that were not out now and I doubt they will be in sets. Shouldn't get excited about every single thing (see 'Elves' in fantasy castle ). doctordark Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I didn't think that it was new is was just saying it's orange. Quote
Forresto Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 As it seems this will be the new topic for 2010 PM sets then I will repost what I last said in the other topic on 2010 PM sets right before the topic renewed. A New better image of the larger magma power miner vehicle. The one we got a small blurry image of remember? Brickshelf It's rather strange looking. Quote
Oky Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Not sure if this is news or not, but when I went to the Lego store today, they had a Power Miners watch. It included a Glaciator fig and some dynamite. Quote
ILikePi Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Not sure if this is news or not, but when I went to the Lego store today, they had a Power Miners watch. It included a Glaciator fig and some dynamite. That sounds new. However, I hope that the rock monster isn't made of the cheap plastic that the normal minifigures are made of. Being printed in China is bad enough (the printing comes off easily).Any chance that you could get a picture soon? Quote
CaptainRex110 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 BREAKING NEWS! Found these on Amazon.com! Quote
Svelte Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Thanks for the news, CaptainRex110! Frontpaged! Quote
JimBee Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Ha, nice. The blue is unexpected, but not unwelcome, IMO. It would be interesting to see a Crystal King/ Magma Mech face-off. I'm also liking the look of that new rock monster. Quote
user Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Am I the only one that noticed the non printed metallic silver agents armor? Quote
MrTools Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 wow great find, this is starting to change my view on the new color. i actualy may get some of the smallest sets (none over 30 at the moment). I think the blue on this one is nicely ballanced, and im getting MOC ideas for the new magma theme. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) Am I the only one that noticed the non printed metallic silver agents armor? That is SWEET! Now only if they came in dark bley and/or black. Love the set two. Will pick it up. New pics of Fire Blaster 8188. wow great find, this is starting to change my view on the new color. i actualy may get some of the smallest sets (none over 30 at the moment). I think the blue on this one is nicely ballanced, and im getting MOC ideas for the new magma theme. I may trade the blue not on the water tank to bley. Edited October 9, 2009 by UsernameMDM Quote
hunterx Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Am I the only one that noticed the non printed metallic silver agents armor? no i noticed that too thats really good for mocs Quote
UsernameMDM Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Kinda sad to see that the yellow lava monster is holding a neon yellow-green crystal and not a new yellow crystal. Quote
Oky Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) Wow! That mech looks awesome! And it comes with so many useful parts: silver Agents armor, lime 1x3 tiles, and grey 2x4 tiles! Along with the Fire Blaster, this is an absolute must-buy for me! I might even get two! I just hope that the price of the Fire Blaster is wrong. If it's really 67 pcs as it says, it should be $8 just like the Mine Mech, which has exactly 67 pcs too. Kinda sad to see that the yellow lava monster is holding a neon yellow-green crystal and not a new yellow crystal. That's probably prelim or a mistake. Just look at the official pics of the Boulder Blaster on S@H. It shows red chrystals, but it comes with blue ones. Any chance that you could get a picture soon? Probably not. I don't plan to go there for a while. Sorry. Besides, my phone takes crappy pics. Edited October 9, 2009 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
Batbrick Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Thanks for the new set pic CaptainRex110. The mech sure looks interesting, better than the last Power Miners one, but I do have problems with it. I dislike the technic based right arm and how simple the left arm is, looks like corners were cut to me. However, the silver Agents armour intrigues me greatly but not enough to buy this set. I'll definitely be getting that other water truck though. Batbrick Away! Quote
Bfahome Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Niiiice. Cool drill, and also those Tahu blade piece things being used was unexpected. Also, Combustix and Firax seem to be appropriate names, despite the fact that one sounds like Firox. Quote
Svelte Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Obviously in an advanced state of crystal addiction, rock monsters turns sickly yellow, their eyes go bloodshot red, and dead black sores form on their skin Quote

If it's really 67 pcs as it says, it should be $8 just like the Mine Mech, which has exactly 67 pcs too. Hope you're right! That's probably prelim or a mistake. ILikePi Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) Wow, that looks awesome! Nice find CaptainRex! The blue drill piece looks very cool. I'm starting to like this lava/water Power Miners theme. I won't be getting it (I have a very limited budget), but I'm thinking on getting the Fire Blaster. EDIT: Hmm... it looks like the names of the lava monsters are Combustix (yellow) and Firax (orange). It looks like the LEGO designers couldn't come up with some creative names for the orange one (Firox, Firax), but I wouldn't be able to do better. EDIT (yeah, another one ): Oops, I didn't see that Bfahome already said that. It would be interesting to see a Crystal King/ Magma Mech face-off. Just what I thought right when I saw it! I just hope that the price of the Fire Blaster is wrong. If it's really 67 pcs as it says, it should be $8 just like the Mine Mech, which has exactly 67 pcs too.I think that the Fire Blaster will be $10 USD, since there are so many colors of parts...EDIT: Obviously in an advanced state of crystal addiction, rock monsters turns sickly yellow, their eyes go bloodshot red, and dead black sores form on their skin EDIT (again...): ...lime 1x3 tiles, and grey 2x3 tiles! Hooray! LEGO has finally answered to our requests! EDIT (last one, I promise! ): Actually those look like dark bley 2 x 4 tiles, not 2 x 3. Probably not. I don't plan to go there for a while. Sorry. Besides, my phone takes crappy pics. Aww. Oh well, that's okay. So was the color scheme of the adjustable links lime and orange? Edited October 9, 2009 by ILikePi Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Icky icky. One icky for the design and colors, the other icky for the price per piece. Quote

Lordofdragonss Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 This mech is a lot better than number 2! And I like now they use basic catching mechanism on arm. Quote
Brickthing Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 Not 100% convinced on the model of the Magma Mech, as the blue arms look gimmicky, weirdly articulated and the water pack looks odd that high. However, part-wise this set is a gem, with two great minifigs, light-blue TECHNIC beams and metallic silver treads. Although there are only 2 by the looks of it, those tread links are in a new colour, so I suspect they'll make a pretty penny when avaliable on Bricklink in large enough quantities, as it would be a great piece for pimped or futuristic vehicles. About the new rock-monsters, I hope the secondary grey is a dark bley or very dark bley but not black, otherwise the contrast between that and the trans-colour might be too extreme. Hopefully it's the same grey as the original rock monsters, so that we can make trans-yellow standard rock monsters. Quote
Nohohon Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) So far we have seen all 4 of the announced sets, 8188 Fire Blaster being number "12" 8189 Magma Mech has "14" sticker the little vehicle from 8191 Monster Jail has a "16" sticker My guess is the 8190 Claw Catcher will be "13". So there will at least be 1 more Power Miners set as number "15", perhaps a TRU exclusive? Edited October 9, 2009 by Nohohon Quote
