February 16, 201015 yr Pics of new sets from the Toy Fair! I like the Shortsword bomber a lot more than I thought I would. The Wraith and redesigned Ghost are awesome, the Mongoose is cute, and the Pelican has potential. I also dig the arctic UNSC vehicles and I LOVE the ODST Drop-pods, I wonder which set those come in, perhaps the mysterious battlefield set. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that a third series follows these with a Grizzly, Rhino, Cobra, and Covenant Scarab
February 17, 201015 yr The Mongoose looks nice, like all the other vehicles, but I'm not really liking the figures.
February 17, 201015 yr Nice to see some pics of those new sets! I'm definately getting the Pelican but I also hope they make another combat unit that includes some basic Marines. I have too many Spartans...
February 17, 201015 yr The new halo sets looks nice. I say the warthog one is a must have. But i'll save that money still for lego.

Man I love these sets, just as good as lego IMO And I love that samurai spartan and the white elite. and well...all the sets! So many new weapons as well Ican't wait until I get my hands on these!!!! Just one thing though, will those Arctic vehicles be released?
February 22, 201015 yr Atamaii has a video of Mega Bloks Halo Wars at the New York Toy Fair: They actually look very good for Mega Bloks! I'm not going to get any because of my limited budget, but I would love to see reviews of these sets. Also, that diorama is set up very well!
February 22, 201015 yr Something tells me that she never actually played the game, and if she did, didnt pay much attention to detail...... The Master Chief was never in Halo Wars, nor was he mentioned......Just because it's a green SPARTAN doesnt make it John-117. And the Shortsword really wasnt all that Iconin, it was only used for Carpet and Cryo bombing. Now that I got the majority of my rant off my chest, I must say that there are only a few sets that I actually like; The Scorpion, the Wraith, and the Locust. These three actually look like they have some construction involved, much unlik the HEV, which looks like a much downgraded version of something MacFarlane Toys would release. I also don't like how they decided to make arctic versions of damn near everything, because even on the snow missions in the game, they stick to the normal dark grey/green color that's used everywhere else. And the only time where arctic camo is seen is on the Multiplayer map Avalanche, in Halo 3. -'Skintas

It stil looks awesome I wonder if these will be released or are just prototypes
February 22, 201015 yr Does it really matter? It stil looks awesome I wonder if these will be released or are just prototypes Yes, it matters to me. I'm pretty sure they will be release, as I think I remeber the boxes for them. -'Skintas

"Wars" was probably just to better tie-in with the then just-released game, now they've opened the branding up to the whole universe.

And the only time where arctic camo is seen is on the Multiplayer map Avalanche, in Halo 3. I'm not too particular about something being 100% true to the source material, I love the Haloverse, but I only play the game casually (and only multiplayer). Although I could do without all the arctic versions simply because I've never been much of a fan of snow/arctic themes. Well if you'll notice, the boxes shown at Toy Fair have dropped the Halo Wars title and changed to Halo - The Authentic Collector's Series. "Wars" was probably just to better tie-in with the then just-released game, now they've opened the branding up to the whole universe. I think it's cool dropping it to make it more than just Halo Wars. The Haloverse is pretty vast, and there's lots of cool stuff. I think they're on the right track. Loved all the Toy Fair showings (with the exception of the arctic versions that I don't need), and can't wait for them to hit shelves. Something tells me that she never actually played the game, and if she did, didnt pay much attention to detail...... Yeah, the reps really don't care too much for the source material, and it's not really their job to. They get press material to learn, and that's pretty much the extent of that. I experienced this first hand, while I was in the Philippines for over a year a couple years back, I headed a LEGO group and actually partnered with the local distributors of LEGO there and was involved with some of their shows and events. February 23, 201015 yr Gotta say I'm loving that pelican - it was always my desire to fly one during the Halo games - maybe in Reach? Anyways, Arctic camo is win. Enough said.

I doubt that we'll be able to fly 'em in Reach, sadly, as the main troop carrier role seems to have been filled by the UH-144 Falcon Tiltrotor, which has been confirmed to make an appearance in multiplayer. I guess the concept is cool, but I still don't care fow the uncanonness of it. -'Skintas
February 23, 201015 yr Haha, it is. I was too busy being annoyed by the lady calling him The Master Chief. -'Skintas
February 25, 201015 yr I saw a minifig pack in town today that hadn't been there before. Five minifigs - two elites, two green Spartans and a yellow, bulkier Spartan holding a massive gun I didn't recognise. I can't remember what accessories the others had but they were all armed. There weren't any bricks, unlike Lego battlepacks. It retailed at the same price as those, though... Anyhow, the front of the pack was clear plastic so I got a good look at the figs for the first time, I was fairly impressed but not tempted.

The yellow spartan is a flame marine
February 26, 201015 yr Wow, they actually look very cool. In terms of design and accuracy, near enough to what Lego produce for their Star Wars sets. In fact, to hell with it, I'm just going to buy a few. What's the point of slagging off MB if I've never even bought a set? Being a both a Lego and Halo fan, I think MB just about blurs the line enough for me to secretly buy a few. Most certainly that Pelican, it has completely captured the overall-snub-nosed look of the original ship. And the Shortsword looks awesome too. The only thing I don't like are the figures. They really, really suck in my opinion. And the big Spartans are quite obviously MB's version of the Knight's Kingdom II maxi-figs. But ah well. Just bin them and keep the model. Am I still a dedicated Lego fan? Yes, and I always will be. But does that mean I can't experiment with MB, when they have clearly upped their level of design and accuracy? No. So expect some reviews from me in the future ~A.S.
March 4, 201015 yr UPDATE: Last night I willingly bought my first ever Mega Bloks set... It didn't feel too good, in all honesty. But I did it. In my hands is a fully assembled and stickered Warthog and Shade Turret. I'll see if I can get a review up this weekend ~A.S. Edited March 4, 201015 yr by AwesomeStar

March 5, 201015 yr The main issue I had was with a couple of larger plates that had a weakened grip on the studs, and sadly these were key to the build. So I just swapped them around for their Lego counterparts and now it's as solid as a rock ~A.S.

March 5, 201015 yr That's unfortunate. I had no problems with mine. Just the loose hooks in the front. It was no biggie. I'm very much in love with the completed set and will most certainly be buying more. But as a note to any potential buyers, keep a handy supply of plates at hand ~A.S.
March 5, 201015 yr UPDATE: Took pictures today. I'll edit them and put together a short review tomorrow morning ~A.S.
