KDog Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 You're welcome to do the 90's reviews! As regards to the 2010 set reviews, you can't review a set unless you've bought it...(save for the admins like CopMike on here, which seem to be able to get the impossible...) CopMike must have naked pictures of Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen. Quote
Scorpion Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Each faction was marketed as a separate theme, and the sets typically only included one faction (the Space Police sets of both previous eras included Blacktron figs as prisoners but no Blacktron vehicles). So they were essentially "single-faction themes", even if there was more than one Space theme on sale each year. As it should be! If I want just the friggin Space Police cruiser, why should I be forced to buy a crappy OPFOR model thrown in as an afterthorught too? Quote
vexorian Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 (edited) As it should be! If I want just the friggin Space Police cruiser, why should I be forced to buy a crappy OPFOR model thrown in as an afterthorught too? Because the extra pieces don't hurt anyone. Say you really had something against buying two sets in one, ok then just keep ships of each faction in different sets. It is still better to have two factions per theme as it means each year is more 'complete' than the other. Thanks to the single faction themes I hardly had any space police sets before SP3, but I had plenty of civilians (ice planet) and bandits( spyrius) I would have prefered if the three factions ' releases were spread in three years instead of what actually happened, that way I would have had more space police :) Honestly, SP3 is the best space theme we've had in a looooooooooooong while... Skulls_Eye_Schooner_Sailor Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Uhm, have you ever heard of 10197 Fire Brigade? Just kidding, I get your point. Even though previous bases were much taller than this, they relied heavily on raised baseplates, giant windows, BURPs, etc. It's good to see a decently sized base that is mostly made out of bricks. As for the Eiffel Tower, yes, it's one of the tallest sets ever. It's definitely up there with Lady Liberty. (pun intended) Does anyone know which one is taller? Double fail! Because Siegfried is too lazy to update the index. If by "rover" you mean 5979 Max Security Transport, there already is an excellent review for that. You just gotta search for it. If you have some of those old unreviewed sets, feel free to review them! About SP3 ending, yes, it's probably dying. Not only because it wasn't featured in the recent catalog much, but mostly because of the short life span of action themes these days. Oh yeah, and emoticons for the win! Yes, but that's a modular building. Not exactly the same thing. But yeah, it is a great base, and pretty decent in size! Oh, I see! Well, I'll just do more searches then. Review the 90s sets? Hmm, maybe I will. I don't have all the sets I had when I was a kid, but I did re-buy some of them, and own some of them I never did. So, it might be something I'll end up doing one of these days! Oh okay... so I guess no one here has bought the tow truck or the Rapid Raid VPR thingy yet. I might get the second one, so... I could probably review it if I do. Makes sense, though. Got to own it to review it. That would be a shame if Space Police is going to end quite soon. Still, we got a decent array of sets from it, and many of them were very good. We can only hope that if it does end, they'll continue with these new Space sets and equally good or even better theme replaces it! Quote

While that would be great, I don't think we'll see a diverse variety of minifigs as we have in this theme. There are more opportunities for more minifigs in this theme, but I think it has lived out its lifespan. I hope I'm wrong, but if another theme takes its place, the minifigs won't be as good. ...On a different subject, I can't believe I still haven't seen the Raid VPR or Smash and Grab sets in stores yet... Scorpion Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 You're not alone, guys. Only this week I had the first sighting of the raid vpr here in Portugal! Quote
Stefan Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Does anyone know when the new sets will be avialable in Austria? Quote
sok117 Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Anyone here read the police logs on lego.com, I think there leading up to the discovery of "the Brick Father", can't wait to see how the story unfolds. Quote
Siegfried Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 I'm still looking for the new sets too. I really want Smash ‘n Grab. Because Siegfried is too lazy to update the index. That's a bit harsh. I am the only admin who's also regulating a forum by himself. In any case it's updated now. If I've missed anything please bother me. Quote

sologuy369 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 (edited) I've zoomed into the pictures of the minifigures so we can see more what they are. [snip]! Enjoy! -Mr. Solo Edited June 2, 2010 by sologuy369 Quote

If I've missed anything please bother me. I don't think he meant it seriously. Indeed, I was kidding. Sorry if I came across differently. I'd be happy to help you out as a mod, Siegfried, if you are looking for an apprentice. An emoticon would have helped. The implied tone is rather sour. Excuse me? I did use a "tongue" emoticon. I thought that was clear enough. Oh okay... so I guess no one here has bought the tow truck or the Rapid Raid VPR thingy yet. I might get the second one, so... I could probably review it if I do. Actually, there are reviews of those too, as you can tell by Siegfried's excellently updated review index, but feel free to review it anyway. The more the merrier. I've zoomed into the pictures of the minifigures so we can see more what they are. >SNIP< That's nice of you, but uhm, those tiny thumbnails don't really help much in that regard. There are much better pics of the minifigs all over the internet, especially in FBTB's Toy Fair coverage. Edited April 14, 2010 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote

Dannylonglegs Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 (edited) Possibly. On that dark note, does the Sci-fi forum even have a mod all to it's own? ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited April 15, 2010 by Dannylonglegs Quote
krystalKING Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I'm shocked that no one has seen what I see in the photo's. Here's what I see, space police central: second room [the small one] is some sort of break room, it has a coffee maker!Kinda like the one from rock wrecker. In the set there are 3 pairs of handcuff's.insectoid xim has a yellow orange color on his ship, commando with pirate thing[i forget the name] is possibly the chief. Lunar limo: I see a big cargo bay,A big seating area,a firing shooter, lot's of purple plate's,Brickfather is possible black hole gang leader.Undercover cruiser: you guy's pretty much said it all. The Crazy One Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 (edited) Excuse me? I did use a "tongue" emoticon. I thought that was clear enough. Aanchir Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Wait, what about the Insectoids? "Insectoid Xim" is the red skull-mask guy's name that appears on the prelim box art for Space Police Central. I didn't notice the coffee maker in SPCentral (or perhaps I didn't pay attention to the full interior-- I was more intrigued by the Aquazone/M-Tron style crate which is labeled to contain a "sniffer frog"). And I'm fairly sure Insectoid Xim's craft (assuming that is his final name, which may not be true) is just regular orange. I wish it was yellow-orange (or, more specifically, Flame Yellowish Orange, a color used frequently in BIONICLE), as that could hint at more of that color in System for the future. In my opinion it would be ideal for construction equipment and possibly school buses. Quote
user Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 No, I do not wish to be a moderator I'd be happy to help you out as a mod, Siegfried, if you are looking for an apprentice. Oky's conflicting statements are conflicting. Quote

I need the base before may 10th. good day Quote
