Forresto Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Incredibly sorry if this has already been brought to your attention, but has anybody else noticed on Space Police Log 4 when they first show the police base and you pause it at 0:30 you'll notice a large blue sign on the left that says "MOST WANTED" and it shows someone underneath. Any idea of who this is? Unfortunately it is slizer so nobody new, but good catch anyways! Quote
TheShnomon Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Ha, sorry about that man. I think that was just me being hopeful, but it's obvious it's him when watched in HD. The torso looked a tad different to me. Quote
Svelte Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 As per Oky's request from the 2009 discussion thread, I've unpinned that topic and pinned this one instead. The Walrus has been busy so when he notices he may rearrange all this according to his own fierce hatred of pinned threads idiosyncratic whims. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 (edited) Ogel's rocket comes out of wormhole near Blacktron planetOgel organizes Blacktron into major power in quadrant to raise revenge on freedom... Thus Blacktron2... I like the B-tron=rebels, but I still think there alittle more organized, then the b-hole gang. oh and whoever asked, yes b-tron is the baddest of the bad, second, the B-hole gang(cause they're sooo original),and then spyrius(TA-175) then ufo, then jellies, than anyother space bad guys, then blacktron 2. take that blacktron 2 srry Edited September 30, 2009 by dannylonglegs Quote
Oky Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Hehe, thanks Svelte. Personally my pet theory about Blacktron is:SNIP Ogel organizes Blacktron into major power in quadrant to raise revenge on freedom... Yeah, because Ogel is behind pretty much anything. There was this hilarious thread once that had various theories on how Ogel is the cause of many themes, including Fantasy era Castle, Agents, and Space Skulls, but I can't be bothered to find it right now. xenologer Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Im looking at the split nose on Raid VPR and thinking VPR=Viper=Vic Viper?? Quote
Svelte Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Yeah, because Ogel is behind pretty much anything. There was this hilarious thread once that had various theories on how Ogel is the cause of many themes, including Fantasy era Castle, Agents, and Space Skulls, but I can't be bothered to find it right now. That theory is reiterated in the minifig book produced with 'The Lego Book', where they mention that Vladek's direct descendant is Ogel. Quote

YG-49 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) First post updated with a new information and photos) 5981 - Raid VPR 5982 - Smash 'n' Grab Wait.. Are those box arts INSIDE the City orb? Now I'm confused.... The police need enclosed helmets while inside the dome, while they're fine without closed ones outside? Somehow I knew Squidtron would be a purple Squiddy. Does he have yellow eyes? They look light up.... His torso is weird too.... Looks like the alien Han Solo. WAIT..... My god.. The SP even need air tanks with their new enclosed helmets. The ATM looks interesting... I guess that's what they'll look like in the future. It also seems the cards that the criminals hold up in the WANTED! box are different. The Grab'n Smash looks like just another Container Heist. Spikes on the front, teeny cockpit, villain is stealing something. The engines on the end seem a little big too. Onto the Raid VPR... It's nice to see the aliens have weapons now. It also looks like the SPIII belt buckle STILL doesn't connect to the Blacktron torso. Again, with the vehicle, a windscreen WAY too big for the vehicle. My opinion. EDIT: The policeys have Power Miner heads?! Edited October 9, 2009 by YG-49 Quote
Svelte Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Purple cheese  I hate that they just recolour the aliens, though. An orange and purple Squiddy just doesn't seem right Quote
danomckenna Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I know it's only based on two sets so far, but... Air tanks on the Space Police- CHECK. Enclosed helmets on the Space Police- CHECK. Trans coloured visors- CHECK. Trans colour on the baddie ships- CHECK. Lego has just rectified every issue I had with the 2009 line while retaining all the fun and classic homages that I enjoyed. This year looks even BETTER! Quote
Brickthing Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Purple cheese  I hate that they just recolour the aliens, though. An orange and purple Squiddy just doesn't seem right Agreed on the cheese I think the recoloured aliens are quite neat, because they show that the aliens aren't all identical, and it adds more characters to the families, such as the adorable Squidman family. That said though, I hope that there are completely new alien head/body molds as well, otherwise the aliens will start to seem recycled. Raid VPR is a great set, and a cheap way to get 2 cool minifigs and a whole host of useful parts, including trans-pieces, hand-held flick-fires, and a pair of new white TECHNIC panels, all of which I absolutely want to get! Smash 'n' Grab is cool too, and I'll probably get it for the wide range of pieces, such as the purple flarings , other purple parts, and the new Purple Squidman. As for the set, the truck looks like a purple rehash of previous vehicles, with some unfortunate asymmetry on the back. Stealing an entire ATM is a great theme for the set, although there appears to be a developing correlation between Squidmen and bank notes... The best part about Smash 'n' Grab though is the ATM sign, which appears to be a sticker on top of a light blue 2x4 tile! Along with the 1x3 tile next year, maybe there will be even more varieties of tiles released? My only issues with the sets though - both police use the scared Power Miners faces. While they're great faces, I prefer the original horror face, because it's more comical, which matches the hilarity of the aliens and the set scenarios. Also, although it's cool that this year's sets are based inside city domes, which means it's likely that all the baddie ships will be "Space-Punked" city vehicles, if Space Police is already leaving proper space as a setting, where will it go for 2011/later 2010? Rick Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Blacktron I fans will be happy with the trans-yellow windscreen piece. Funky colors on that second set. I won't buy, but I definitely like the design of these SP sets even more than the 2009 line. Quote
Big Cam Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Seems kind of cheap to just recolor the alien heads. I suppose at least we do get them in different colors. Quote

Ricecracker Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Purple cheese  Where do you see purple cheese? I only see 1x2 and 1x3 slopes, aside from those big engine pieces. Quote
Dark Wanderer Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Ahhh, trans-yellow windscreens... i do hope, however, that with the apparent return of Blacktron we get perhaps a few Human baddies. It'd get away from this aliens-are-evil balance and hearken back to the original Blacktrons. Otherwise I'll have to get a bunch of one set and swap out heads. Quote
Deinonychus Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Wow...Squidtron is stealing an ATM with a tow-truck. That's so awesome And I suppose LEGO worked out how to make purple bricks work without compromising the plastic. I guess when Mega Bloks proved they could do it, LEGO had to step up their game. Now I've gotta run...I heard a rumor that there were B.A.T.S. around here Quote
Natman8000 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I think they stole Smash and grab from my mind, because that is seriously my dream set. All the goodies in that set make it looks really worthwhile. Quote

Tohst Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I do like how if you leave off the stickers and some of the pointy bits we are getting a whole space civilian range. Space motorcycle Space car Space truck and now Space tow truck. Even a space garage (although that set has yet to grow on me) Can we get a Space Italian Restaurant for the Gang to plan heists at? -Tohst Quote
YG-49 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Can we get a Space Italian Restaurant for the Gang to plan heists at?-Tohst Yeah.... In the style of the one that appeared in Log 04.. Quote
phillip10 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Those sets are awesome sauce! I need to get them! The sad thing is is lego is just recoloring the old aliens faces but thats still okay Quote
