GriZzliQ Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) 5982 is amazing set!!! I really like this space car) I think this picture will be better, than others) Edited October 9, 2009 by GriZzliQ Quote
Athos Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Hardly a brick in those sets. That's especially disappointing for the purple one. Some purple bricks would have been nice. But all they gave us were a punch of panels and plates... Steve Quote
simonjedi Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 2010 First Wave5981 - Raid VPR Am I the only one who after seeing the "front wings" thought using it for a EP3 Jedi starfighter? Quote
Mission Commander Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Now I must have SPIII! I really hope to see that dinner. I still think blacktron will be back! Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) 69 pieces for $13?!?! Failure! With LEGO's yearly, insanely, price increases they are just wanting me to enter another dark age. However it's nice to see black and purple instead of more black and red. Matn Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Looks like the designers have made better alien vehicles. Not only the figures look great, but also the purple spacecraft looks pretty well made. I'm looking forward to these. Not that I'm going to buy them, but it just looks nice and you never know. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Purple 2010 is a good year for my favourite colour! I think I will be getting more than impluse sets from SPIII if the rest are as good as this. Quote
CP5670 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) 5982 as a set looks lame. The purple and yellow don't go together well at all IMO. I like the piece selection though. The new Squidman is great, and I see a trans-yellow windscreen as well. It would be great if that color is used in the other villain sets as well. Trans-yellow is essential for Blacktron 1 MOCs, but it's the hardest color to get any windscreens in today. I hope that computer slope is actually printed and not just a sticker. Stewie Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 It seems now their fighting on another planet of some sort and the theme is purple (my favorite color) Quote
Commander Assassin Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 69 pieces for $13?!?!Failure! With LEGO's yearly, insanely, price increases they are just wanting me to enter another dark age. However it's nice to see black and purple instead of more black and red. Tell me about it! Did you see the price for the TIE Defender? I t only has around 300 pieces and it's $60! However, I am in love with these sets! The reason why being that I want as many SP III aliens as possible for my WIP Alien Apocalypse MOC. I would have liked to see new head molds, but oh well. At least these have different printings. Although I have to say, who was the smart one who came up with the new gun design? I would have rather had the old microphone blasters! Can't say it looks that bad with the set, just saying I was expecting something more complex. Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I like the look of both sets and if 'Rench' is still in the Blacktron style torso it'll be even better. I think the Smash 'n' Grab has the right combination of parts colour and humor to make a really good set. Quote
prateek Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I like that purple thing, but not the other one. Quote
Batbrick Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Loving the new Space Police III look! The new space Police helmet is fantastic, it'll be very useful for a number of other things. And they have oxygen tanks now too! The new coloured aliens are great, can't wait to get lime green Kranxx and pale Squidman, can never get enough Squidman. That said, I'll be disappointed if there are no new aliens next year. The first actual set doesn't look all that fantastic, though there are some great white parts there. The Squidman set however is fantastic! Love the mix of purple and yellow, and that yellow windscreen has me excited. The construction is a lot better than the previous Blacktron vehicles, I love the use of those side engine piece. And cannot state my love enough for that purple! Plus more notes are always appreciated, and that ATM is nice and spiffy, I love how different it is, well done on the designers for making it have a very alien design. Hopefully there are more sets to come, but I can be satisfied with these! Batbrick Away! Quote
prateek Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Where do you see purple cheese? I only see 1x2 and 1x3 slopes, aside from those big engine pieces. beside the windshield Quote
ILikePi Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Hooray, more purple! The "Raid VPR" looks too simple for me, so I won't be getting it. The "Smash 'n' Grab" looks awesome! So many nice purple parts (six purple cheeses!), and that futuristic ATM is very cool. The 2 x 4 medium blue tiles are great, too! I'm not really liking the recolored aliens - new ones would have been much nicer. But it's great to see that LEGO is returning to Blacktron! Quote
andy0002 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 the vehicles and sp4 fig is cool. the blackhole gang + blacktron mashup thing is total crap, although i look forward to their story line, it could decide my buyings. Quote
zero1312 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Anyone noticed the Blacktron 2 "B" on the torso? Any chance we might see a new Blacktron rising? Quote
Carbohydrates Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 (edited) 1x3 tile This is being sorely understated! Freakin' 1x3 tiles! It's about time! I see at least 4 of them in Smash and Grab. Edited October 10, 2009 by Carbohydrates Quote
YG-49 Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 It seems now their fighting on another planet of some sort and the theme is purple (my favorite color) Nah, they're just inside the City Dome. Quote
doctordark Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Both are really cool but I think I like Raid VPR a little more. Quote
phillip10 Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Wow! So we have the new freeze ray frenzy and goldheist priced sets! i love the color schemes! Im gonna get these and some atlantis for next year Quote
Lord Admiral Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Wow! So we have the new freeze ray frenzy and goldheist priced sets! i love the color schemes! Im gonna get these and some atlantis for next year Never liked the baddies, but I might just pick up the VPR, custom pieces be damned. It looks cool, unlike the I-can't-decide-if-I-want-to-be-retro '09 sets. Don't get me wrong; I like two of the '09 SP3 sets. But being stuck somewhere between 1989 and 2009 can't be a good thing. Still don't care for the villain SP3 sets though, and I suspect I never will. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Looks like the alien Han Solo. The Grab'n Smash looks like just another Container Heist. Spikes on the front, teeny cockpit, villain is stealing something. The engines on the end seem a little big too. It also looks like the SPIII belt buckle STILL doesn't connect to the Blacktron torso what do you mean? and the vpr is just like squidmans escape; green villian, no bad guy ship, cool small sp ship. did you see the prelim kranxx? I'm rushed but to sum up my feelings I love the new theme, I'll elaborate later, buy Quote
YG-49 Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 what do you mean? About what? Squidtron's torso reminds me of Han Solo. The Bad guy SPIII legs, with the skull belt buckle, doesn't go over the torso. Quote
