Wout Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Well, a cowpack would be nice (and not that guys from Knights kingdom 1 ), 2-4 cows with a farmer and a stall or milkinstallation (where they milk the cows), a place where they make butter and cheese, an Orchard with apples and a farmer, Sheep with dog and farmer, Goats, a vegtable garden Maybe some woodland to use by the farmer, A Haystack, etc. A nice farmhouse would be fun, there are many styles in europe. Only in a small country like the Netherlands there are already 4 different styles for farms. So they maybe can make an universial farmhouse. Brickforge made in 2007/2008 cows, pigs and sheep, Although Afols already asked some years for this. After this Tlc released in 2009 cows and we get now pigs too, So I think we maybe get some sheep. Captain Green Hair Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 I'd love to see more animals, but I'm already grateful for getting cows and new the pigs . TLC pigs? Where? Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 (edited) That's a great and very interesting topic, lifeinplastic! And there are so many great ideas mentioned! a crop field with growing crops or a chicken/rooster coop. I totally agree with you, Legolinet Pilot - a crop field or at least a garden with some fruits would be great! Also a non batman scarecrow would be a nice addition, maybe throw it in a garden set. With new molded black birds that can sit on the ground and not have there tail feathers in the way. That's really a lovely idea to have a farm garden with a scarecrow in it! I'd also like a tool shep with a jeep, a horse area, and a small farm house. A farm house is indeed absolutely needed! Where else should the family of the farmer live?! A tool shed with a jeep and a horse area are great ideas, too! If TLG continues the Farm theme after next spring I bet that we'll see some sort of horse stable since this is - like the 4wrd With Horse Trailer - a set in which mainly girls are very interested. And since we got a horse trailer it would be strange if we didn't get a horse stable. A chicken coop A chicken coop is a great idea, posades! This could even be a small set for around 10-20 Euros: small chicken coop with enclosure, three chicken, one cock, some food, a pushcart, a shovel, a brush and a farm boy. Plough - something more for all the tractors to tow.A windmill bore pump - They had one of these some years ago as part of the outback theme, farming in dry areas like most of Australia is completely dependant on them. I totally agree with you, peterab - some more agriculutral machines are absolutely needed! A plough would be a great idea - and a manure barrel and a hay turning machine are all three really necessary! A potato/tomato/... reaper and a vehicle which sprays water or/and weed-killers on the fields would be great, too! -A milk float (not strictly farm but certainly related to dairy production!) A milk truck would be a great idea, lifeinplastic! Brickbuild milker This would be a great addition to a milk truck, Lordofdragonss! Perhaps a set for around 20 Euros including one cow, a milk machine, a milk truck, a milk bottle, a farmer and a milk truck driver. an Orchard with apples and a farmer, I totally agree with you, Wout - an orchard with an apple tree, perhaps even a cherry tree, some vegetables, a green house and a grandmother would be lovely! I certainty hope it continues [...] Farm should be a sub part of City along with Civilian City sets Farm still has a lot to explore and I believe there's enough idea's to keep this sub-theme of City going for some more years. I totally agree with you, Macoco and Bonaparte! Like it seems the Farm sets are sold very well and not only we are enthused on these sets. And even if every second set included a tractor: Think about how kids are keen on tractors - there can never be enough of them. Imo this theme is even a great possibility to get girls interested in Lego (City), too. TLG really managed and still manages to design Farm sets that are interesting for boys and girls - for boys mainly the vehicles and for girls mainly the animals and minifigures. I bet - and of course hope - that the Farm theme will last for at least 2011 since there are so many ideas for sets which could be done! Surely there won't be a whole wave every year (like this year) - but one or two set a year plus one small set or Impulse set are imo realistic. Since we'll get the great Piglets Enclosure With Tractor set and the Farmer Impulse set in spring I could even well imagine that we'll see another medium-sized set in summer. lifeinplastic Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 What about a riding school? With a "modular" expansion set (horse box stall) Great idea The Cobra!. I've been having a look at brickshelf and found this. What a great MOC! They should definitely do a farm set with the foals. Also, some tan horses and grey ones too! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=3199161 an Orchard with apples and a farmer,Goats, a vegtable garden Yes, another good way to add more trees to our city. Could come with a trailer, like this other MOC I found on brickshelf. Imagine something like that full of apples or cherries! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1618835 Quote
Sajer Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Mmm. As suggested somewhere, a "Battlepack" like set including shepherd and sheeps and possibly a dog would be great. A milk truck would also be cool, our lego CITY people can finally get their daily source of calcium! (Sorry, but I'm still not sure how to quote multiples due to my newness) Quote

David Thomsen Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Just found pictures of the Farm 2010 sets... I like the pigs and the pig pen, but I don't know if my farm really needs another tractor. I like how the red roof on the pig pen matches the roofs (rooves?) of the other farm buildings. I wonder what the stud on the back of the pigs is for though. I can't imaging pig-mounted lasers being a great idea. I had an idea today for a farm vehicle that might work... a crop duster. I don't know why it didn't occur to me before, but there are planes for every other professions... police planes, hospital planes, postal planes.... why not a farm plane? The set I'd like to seem most though is a farm cottage. There are hardly any residential buildings around, and I think a farm cottage would be perfect. Quote
zyrabernard Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Nice ideas guys. I do hope the theme will continue, especially as police/fire are never really new ideas, just rehashed versions of what we've seen before. It would be good to keep farm as an ongoing theme. E.g. only releasing one or two sets per wave of releases. This way it can be kept alive without exhausting all the ideas too quickly and having to wait another 10 years before it is revived. yours, zyra Simulation pret immobilier Quote
CDC Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 What they need is MOLDED, not brick built, chickens, roosters, and ducks. Also sheeps and goats would be nice. A farm house and windmill or grainsilo. Totally agree Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 (edited) Three new ideas either for Impulse sets or for contents of bigger sets: Dog's Hut a dog's hut including a dish and two sausages minifig: boy Dove's House a decorated doves' house on a tall pile including some round tan thin 1x1 bricks minifig: girl Forester including a deer, a gun, a rucksack, a spyglass and a tree minifig: forester Poacher including a fox, a gun, a rucksack, a spyglass and a bush minifig: poacher Klaus-Dieter Edited December 3, 2009 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
