RoryoCox Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 I am thinking about buying an item from a bricklink store CHROMEBRICKS I am able to trust them.
Luke McAwesome Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 (edited) Do you mean "Am I able to trust them?" If so, just look at their feedback. All their orders have been positive. Edited September 24, 2009 by Striker
Bad Dad Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Hi Burman Good to see another Norn Iron lego fan. These guys have a pretty fair reputation ,only 60 feedbacks but 100% good. The chrome gold, silver and copper pieces are awesome. Then I look at the price. Wow. Then there's the" currency conversion" , its a bit steep( for Americans)- XE currently quote 1 euro = $1.46 ( the inverse is $1 =Euro0.68) And don't forget the 19% VAT.It isn't clear to me when VAT gets applied by them . I would assume its added to the total before shipping but I advise you to check before ordering. Shipping looks similar to many other German sellers. Finally my advice. Decide what you would like, then contact the seller directly. Do this before ordering through their bricklink site i.e. don't order then wait for the invoice to show you the real damage. I support bricklink and all the really good sellers throughout the world but some of our european cousins have different ways of doing things. Very different. If you like their stuff and you order it I'm sure you'll get it , it's just how much it will really cost you I would be careful about. Bad Dad I am thinking about buying an item from a bricklink store CHROMEBRICKS I am able to trust them.
Rick Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Exchange rates are pretty unfavorable for U.S. customers of European stores. European sellers also have to set their prices in US$, so - given that they mainly sell in Europe - they are usually higher in US$ compared to U.S. shops. Furthermore, there are taxes / import duties that are no issue for sales within the EU, like they are probably no issue for sales within the U.S. The existence of and opaqueness regarding these additional costs will probably cause many U.S. buyers to stick with U.S. shops and many European buyers to stick with European shops. But the uncertainty most likely does not arise from the exchange rate used by the seller and the shipping costs, but taxes and import duties, which are also outside the control of the seller.
Hinckley Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 We have a topic for trusted bricklink stores. It is not necessary to start an individual thread for each one. Thanks.
