Posted September 27, 200915 yr When I was reading the LEGO Universe FAQs, I came across this in the "More on the game" section; The gameworld will also include stacks of ways to bring your most innovative creations to life! I know there must be some sort of easy-to-understand creation programming method, but "stacks of ways" to program creations makes me wonder if actual computer-coding is possible in LU? Discuss your opinions on this subject.
September 28, 200915 yr Conveniently, one of the videos that I uploaded contains information. It says that you will be able to program your creations with the same programming language as Mindstorms. I personally have never used mindstorms, but I want to get them, so I don't exactly know how that works. The video that I uploaded is nearly 30 minutes long so it is in 3 parts. It contains quite a bit of information about LEGO Universe and is very interesting. It is basically a presentation by Mark Hansen, LEGO Universe's director. The part about programming is about 4:30 into part 3. Here are the videos: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3

I have Mindstorms, I can tell you that the base programming language is called LabView and is VERY easy. Although, as convenient as this sounds, I hope that LU can have syntax-based programming in the future.

I doubt they will have any type of complex programming because there main focus is the younger age groups.

October 4, 200915 yr Well, that depends of what TLG think its interesting for AFOL's... For me i want at least separated zones( space in one place, pirates on other, castle on third etc...) Im not sure that we will get much free space for scripting. At least not advanced one ...
