Jim Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Wow! Excellent model and excellent rendering! Looks awesome. Thanks for reviving Blakbird Quote
Cyclotron102 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 (edited) Sorry to revive this very old topic, but there is some new news. At long last (and after much pleading from me) M-longer has created an LDD of this wonderful MOC. I then took that LDD, replaced all the missing parts, added all the synthesized parts, and completed an LDraw file. When I finished, I made some renders as you can see here. Personally, I would really like to build this model. The problem is that files converted from LDD have no building steps or submodels, so reproducing them can be very difficult. Usually I do this kind of work myself, but at the moment I find that I have far too many competing projects. So I am looking for a volunteer who is good with MLCAD who would be willing to take the file and add some sensible building steps and submodels. At that point, I'll post the file publicly so anyone can build this model. Any volunteers? Hello, If you send me the file, I will try. I have the time, and I have made some smaller model. Blakbird Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 I also will give it a try. I don't want to distribute the file to more than one person because each person will make different mods and then we'll end up with multiple versions of the file. Let's see how Cyclotron does and then go from there. Quote

Jeff Schield Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Amazing detail in the cab, the stairs and railing. Quote
Blakbird Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 The instructions for the L580 are done and I've just finished testing them. We'll be working to get them hosted and available over the next couple of weeks. Here are some pictures of my constuction. Here is the pile of loose parts. As you can see, there are a lot more studs here than a typical Technic build. In fact, this is more of a Model Team MOC with Technic guts than a Technic model with a System skin. I didn't take any build photos, but here are a couple of the completed model. I love the railing and the accurate operator's cabin. Quote
Lundgren Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 (edited) Wow, wow, wow!!! What a beauty and how can I get a copy of the instructions? Edited January 13, 2014 by Lundgren Quote
Darth Kram Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Any update on when the instructions will be available? I'm quite looking forward to building this! Quote
Blakbird Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Any update on when the instructions will be available? I'm quite looking forward to building this! We will have to wait for M_longer to answer. The instructions are complete, they just need to be submitted to MOC Plans and the parts list to Rebrickable. Quote
me00rjb Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 It looks like the instructions are now available. I wanted to build this as soon as I saw it all those years ago - a stunning model that perfectly combines the functionality of Technic with the Model Team look. I never got around to reverse engineering it, but you've made life easy now. Thanks to all for making this happen! Quote
Blakbird Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Yes, the instructions are now available at MOC Plans. Quote
Johnny P Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 this is truly a magnificent moc. perhaps with the new bigger bucket it would even look better.more badass as the bucket now is a bit tiny. Quote
D3K Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I think this is the best looking Lego loader I have seen! Quote
Dafgek81 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I have to agree with JohnnyP and D3K, that this loader is way up there. The only thing I like less are the windows, but I can realy only tell when I can build it myself and see it for real. But with the new and bigger bucket it should look awesome!!! Quote
M_longer Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 But with the new and bigger bucket it should look awesome!!! Yeeeah, that was my first thought after seeing that Volvo loader :) Many thanks for Blakbird for making those great instructions :) Quote
legolijntje Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Could we get a preview of the instructions? Some sample pages? I don't know why, but I always like to see that Thanks M_longer and Blakbird for the instructions! Great job Quote
ritztoys Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I've looked at the BI, can't wait to start..............my issue is I like to print-off the parts list. For some reason the only available list is the last page @ MOC Plans. Is there any off-site ( Rebrickable or other ) printable list I can go to? Quote
Blakbird Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I've looked at the BI, can't wait to start..............my issue is I like to print-off the parts list. For some reason the only available list is the last page @ MOC Plans. Is there any off-site ( Rebrickable or other ) printable list I can go to? Yes, various. There was a link on MOC Plans to the Brickstore file housed on my Bricksafe account, but the link disappeared. You can find the file here. The model has also been submitted to Rebrickable, but I think has not been reviewed yet. Quote
ritztoys Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Blakbird.................You're a saint  thank-you for the parts list link. I'll relax now, because I'm counting out parts for this great MOC Quote
nychase Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Yes, various. There was a link on MOC Plans to the Brickstore file housed on my Bricksafe account, but the link disappeared. You can find the file here. The model has also been submitted to Rebrickable, but I think has not been reviewed yet. I have updated MOCplans to host the brickstore files for each model. The file is by the other links and it says "Brickstore Inventory". I haven't updated each model yet but it will be core functionality from now on. I will also be able to link other files as needed such as instruction samples and even things like pneumatic/wiring diagrams. Quote
Lundgren Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Now it's on Rebrickable! http://rebrickable.com/mocs/M_longer/liebherr-l580-wheel-loader?utm_source=newmoc&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newmocthresh Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 (edited) This build is extremely nice! Amazing details and so on. I might actually build someone else's model, who knows... Did not yet to be honest... Great to fit with my models! This is in scale 1:17 and mine are in 1:17,5 so who cares. I can see a very nice render coming up pretty soon, a combination of this amazing build as load for my lowboy trailer with flip axle... @ Blakbird: Wouldn't that be nice? @ ritstoys: Great that you are building this one as well. You are about to have an amazing collection to have on display in March... The this year to be released yellow wheels for the Unimog tires would be a very nice update for this set of instructions!!! @ nychase: Nice addition to MOCplans to have the "Brickstore Inventory" option available. I will update my instructions too soon! One last thing, yes a bigger bucket would be nice, this one is some sort of small. Never the less an amazing build obviously!
