You're right, Peppermint, there have been a few topics about these already.

And I'm pretty sure that that rotating arm is for powering up the lamp.

Well, screw it. (if admins are going to make a third repeat topic, four if you cout the one merged into the second topic, then whatever)

I am going to Legoland Windsor today  So I will quite likely come across some. I might get one if they aren't stupidly expensive.

Hehe, Peppermint is right, there have been a few topics about these already.

And I'm sure neither one of you has any clue why this thread is so much better than those others so stop telling me about them. Boo! I boo you both! Booo!!!!

I bet their heads aren't properly developed :sadnew: It explains a lot.

This item is probably not for them.

Personally, when you go spelunking, as you put it, I think you may need more protective measures than just a Lego minifig.

I thought they already did that. Doesn't it vibrate?

You are right I also would need one of these

852709-1.jpg

Honestly. I'd imagine the minifig is too big to fit in the cave...

Depends on what cave...

I imagine it depends on how long that particular cave has been open to the public. Natural wear and tear, and so forth.

Wait - why are we talking about spelunking?

True however I don't just go into any old caves like a true adventurer would

I prefer caves that are maintained by the State like National parks

My favorite cave is not an actual cave but a Lava Tube, called the Thurston Lava Tube

Its huge, the ceiling is at least 10ft above your head and very wide.

Most of it has lights but at the end there is a gate and the tube goes on for much longer and you need a good light, the minifig head lamp is perfect.

Think they will come out with a night vision?

I'm not sure...but either way, I try to avoid caves that've been open to the public for too long. Too much danger of vermin and crap like that. Anyway, these are cool and I hope they fit. I will have to model it for you guys when mine arrives in the mail.

Refer to above comment.

Now that will be quite a night! :sweet: I look forward to your review of this nifty item. As for spelunking, I would have thought something like the duplo ghost shroud would me much better suited, very durable, although the holes make you wonder...

Nope not cool enough for me. Now maybe if it was Red, Black or Trans clear.....

The lack of proper support makes me think that it would slide around too much and irritate my head. I suppose some people would prefer their headlamps to be loose like that, thus adding to the excitement, but I can't say it appeals to me.

Still, it's nice to see TLG is branching out.

I've seen them in European headlamp catalogs.
Since when has there been European headlamp catalogs? And don't you live in California?

Some few years ago I remember there was a Jack Stone toothbrush that came with a Jack Stone fig. I'm not sure if it vibrated or not...

I would venture to say it is because you started this thread, right?

I guess that all depends on how much hair you have and how wide your head is. I would be tempted to relocate the minifig on a hat, rather than the band it comes with.

California, Sweden.

I thought Jack Stone was a 4+ product. That's a little creepy.

That's a good point. We've failed to take into account how the potential heat from it would interact with local vegetation. I wonder if pruning and shearing would be a good idea before using this...

I wonder if this is moisture resistant. It can get awfully wet in there.

A tighter headlamp excites me more too. It really enhances spelunking.

What does that space bag have to do with this topic anyway??? Like I would wear both at the same time. That would be odd.

You are talking about the headlamps, right? Might as well go ahead and shave it all off to avoid any potential embarrassment. Then again, having a giant minifigure on your forehead might be just as embarrassing.

I'm still wondering if you are talking about the headlamps, seeing how wherever you go, innuendo seems to follow... Best answer would be to buy three, turn one on, and dunk it in abucket of water.
Like I would wear both at the same time. That would be odd.
I'm sure all of us are completely normal...

If you're in the cave with the headlamp blinding everybody else in there, I'm not sure how odd it looks would really matter.

Uhm, because it's dripping of sarcasm? :hmpf:

I wasn't implying you didn't know about the other threads, just jokingly telling Pepper that she is right that there are more threads. So don't you boo me!

What is that supposed to mean? :hmpf_bad:

More like this thread isn't anything for me. :sadnew: I'm outta here. Peace.

I would be very surprised if you and Hinckley visit the same caves, considering where you both live.

That is something to consider, though I prefer to be the only one exploring the cave at that time. Company in such tight places can be awkward.

Yeah, you'd be the laughing-stock of your fellow spelunkers wearing that silly space bag together with your über-cool Lego head lamp.

It's only about two thousand miles between us, give or take.

Also true...That would depend on if you know them and how tight the cave is, I think.

Wow, good luck with that. The caves I visit seem to be pretty popular. Although it is rare to see more than one visitor at a time, it can actually be fun to share a cave with somebody else as long as you get along with the other visitors. Some spelunkers are just rude.

You must not know how far away Sweden really is. And since you seem to think I'm in California for some reason, you may be surprised to know that it's nearly 3000 miles to South California from there. But I'm in Sweden.

Anyway, to keep to the topic. I mostly want this because it looks like it would be very comfortable, breezy yes, but I think it would look good on my head.

I agree with all that, I have a fairly large head, but I presume it will come in a number of sizes, so I should find one that fits. I'm sure it would be very comfy indeed, and as I said before, breezy can be nice. We have a lot of caves in New Zealand, so I'm sure I could use it for a bit of spelunking too. :sweet: Although, a lot of the caves here are wet caves, so I would need to know if it is water resistant or not first, we wouldn't want any accidents.

I'm almost positive I read you moved from Chicago to CA.

Either I'm crazy, or I majorly misunderstood something somewhere... :look:

Probably you think your head is a lot, lot bigger than it actually is, so when you put your headlamp on, the rubber strap got tangled and cut off some circulation. Lack of oxygen to the affected tissues might cause permanent damage, so you might want to get that looked at

People often don't have a realistic judgment about the size of their own head. It's very common.

The exact same thing happened to me some time ago when I was talking about the same thing. I starting to think Hinckley is contagious... :look:

I better get out of here.

There's something about This Page that makes me feel like that apointment isn't necessary. (Maybe?)

Well, as I was walking through my local TRU, I came across the minifig keychain lamp. I also snapped these crappy camera-phone pictures for you .

4018225146_20c6265349_b.jpg

It comes in two colours (yes, colours):

4018232996_5aa6f38595_b.jpg

You turn the light on by pressing and holding down on the LEGO logo on the fig's torso, and, as you can see, the lights are incredibly bright:

The lights are about 1 1/2-2 times the size of a normal fig, and I'm actually considering getting one, depending on the price....

How much were they?
