Ratshot Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Don't you just LOVE the colours on this thing??? The color scheme is awesome It couldn't be any better. Quote
Rick Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 In Europe (NL at least) it now says: Coming soon - January 12... Quote
Brick & Mortimer Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Belgian S@H says January 29... On the other hand, it gives me more time to save money , still don't have room to display it though You don't have to buy it unless you want/need/desire it. :P Ok, I admit it, I desire it Quote
Rick Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 (edited) ... and changed to January 29th edit: millisecond too late... Edited December 11, 2009 by Rick Quote
Etzel Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Belgian S@H says January 29... On the other hand, it gives me more time to save money , And saving money I'll have to now. The Swedish price just came up on S@H and it's more than 40€ over the euro price The pricing difference isn't that big at all when you look at e.g. Medieval Market Village, I wonder why this one is? But I wont rant any more about the price since there is countries that is in a even worse situation that mine (Norway for example). I will still get it because it's such a beauty! Quote
Svelte Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 The dates for these things often dance around. I'd be amazed (and a bit annoyed) if it wasn't available immediately when all the other new sets get listed at S@H too. Last year it was Xmas Day; in previous years more like Jan 1. So we'll see. Clearly they have stock available and warehoused and have done for a while - like most of the new sets. Quote
Grimmy Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Why don't they throw in a compass in these big ship sets? Quote

I guess there's hope Why don't they throw in a compass in these big ship sets? Probably because that will be a pretty expensive part to make Quote
David Thomsen Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 For me it's listed as the 29th of January. I was totally going to order it on the 1st, but I guess I'll have to wait a whole month... which means I won't have to starve myself now, but I was really hoping to have it about a month from now... damn it. AND3RSEN Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 i don't understand why LEGO would release something right after the holiday season...wouldn't it make more sense to release it right before? Quote
Joe H Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 (edited) i don't understand why LEGO would release something right after the holiday season...wouldn't it make more sense to release it right before? Might be due to production timelines, or something along those lines. People will definitely buy the set even if it's after Christmas (I know I will ) - but people will still need to ask for/give something for Christmas, for the most part, so in the end TLG may end up selling more than if they were to just offer it to before Christmas, if my logic makes sense to you. Not to mention, such a set will probably be bought mostly by enthusiasts and pirate-lovers - parents of kids looking for just Lego as a toy in and of itself (as opposed to those looking for them for a Lego-lover) for Christmas probably won't spend $179 on one set, when they can get some other cheaper sets that will make their children just as happy. Again, the people most interested in this set will buy it regardless of when it arrives . Edited December 14, 2009 by Joe H Quote
Finch Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I just want to thank the creator of this Topic quickly for making this thread. I recently found the tiny remains of my once massive Lego collection and I found one of my old Imperial Soldiers and then on youtube found a video about this ship with the link to this thread and after reading this entire thread I can safely say I will be getting back into Lego and purchasing this ship. Aquila D'oro Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 its more of a question of "how many to buy?" this sort of set is pretty much an instant collectable - much like the 8421 gigantic technic crane, which you could get for around $250 (when new)... but now can set you back as much as 400GBP... no wait i'll correct that i just saw one on ebay for 550GBP the plus side is you wont have to keep converting/building SES/BSB sized soldier ships when you get one the real beauty of the 10210 is the colour scheme, so easy to convert to blue coats as well Quote
Alex the Great Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 I love this set! I just don't know if I'm going to buy it, $230 Canadian, or if I should save up for the new castle sets Quote
Noworries Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Just a month, just a month... God, i can't stand this pressure! Will travel right to Munich, visiting the Lego Store on 29.01.2010, hope to get my hands on that. I am shoving a few entrys on my wishlist to february and march for this incarnation of pure happines Quote
Kooberz Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 (edited) I was on here yesterday just browsing, and read the letter that Lego sent, saying there would absolutely be no new Lego Pirates sets in 2010. Then, I wake up today and just happen to browse the Lego Pirates section on Lego.com!!! I can't believe it!!!!!! http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?...cn=554&d=70 I originally jumped to the conclusion that I was the first to break this story. Guess I was wrong. Sry. Check out my Halo Lego animation tho. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqJ0BJtxE6s Edited December 29, 2009 by Kooberz Quote

SlyOwl Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 As it's not yet actually available, I'll close this; discussion belongs here, as said BTW, really nice animation - I'm not a big fan of Halo, but it's really cool! Quote
Grimmy Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 How long do you think this set will be selling for? How much longer do you think the Brickbeard Bounty Ship will be up for? I haven't bought Brickbear's Bounty yet but I plan to in Jan but then that is when this Imperial Flagship one is released. Do you think it will sell out right away? Quote
TheBrickDaddy Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Don't some people already have the flagship? How is that possible? Quote
Svelte Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Don't some people already have the flagship? How is that possible? Obviously it was manufactured and boxed for the Euro market some months ago, so I agree - why is LEGO holding back? They obviously have stock. It's not like they do a small production run and then wait another 3 months to finish it. The only reason I can think of is that for some reason the North American manufacturing plant is running late and they're holding the European launch back so they coincide worldwide. Otherwise it doesn't make any sense. All other big Jan exclusives have been released on 1 Jan (or before). It's very annoying if you live in a country where you pay high shipping because unless you want to pay double ($AUD45, about $US40 just for standard orders!) then you have to wait a month until everything is available at the same time.
