December 6, 200915 yr We have our own problems though. Since I refuse to ride without at least my leather jacket, boots and gloves (sometimes I swap the leather pants for jeans), and by law I must wear a helmet, it can be quite un-comfortable, and getting a bit dangerous once it gets realy hot. I stop riding for fun over 35 celsius, and avoid riding at all over 40. It's not so bad while your moving, but stopped at the lights inbetween traffic you can feel the sweat pouring off yourself. In those conditions I find it much harder to concentrate, and so I'm pretty sure the risks of riding are higher. I'm happy and sad to hear that you don't ride when it gets too hot. Its good that you are responsible, because a few people I have talked to say, wellits too hot for all that gear, and I try to ask them, "Do you think your only at risk for an accident on a mild day??". Just because its hot out doesn't mean you can't get in an accident. As for you not wanting to ride when its hot, you know you can get some nice jackets that breathe very well and offer as much protection as leather. Plus being hot under a helmet is a small price to pay to save your head. I aplaud your restrainan and commitment to being safe.

December 7, 200915 yr Author If it gets hot i ride in my jeans and t-shirt, though that doesn't happen much here.
December 7, 200915 yr Well I recently took a liking to motorcycles when my older brother got one, since then whenever I see I really nice sports bike I allways oooh and Arrh. I like sport bikes better then cruisers, even though I haven't riden either. I just like the shape of a sport bike better. So I hopefully will get a bike liscence in afew years. Can't wait till then! CommanderFox And I like motards and sport bikes better than cruisers and sport tourers Although dirt bikes still are the major players in two-wheeled world for me. I know it is a very hard trick (Or it looks way too intimidating to try at least) but have any of you tried to backflip your bike? For all those daredevils out there. Big Cam, use a dirt bike helmet without goggles. They are very well ventilated and cool when riding at a high speed. Just wear sunglasses to keep the wind out of your eyes, I guess. December 8, 200915 yr have any of you tried to backflip your bike? Big Cam, use a dirt bike helmet without goggles. They are very well ventilated and cool when riding at a high speed. Just wear sunglasses to keep the wind out of your eyes, I guess. LOL, Wut? No, I ride a sportbike I wasn't complaining about the heat??, I was saying how everyone should wear a helmet. At sportbike speeds a Motocross helmet will not sufice, the brim that hangs over your eyes would be very uncomfortable at speed, if you moved your head at all, your head would whip around due to the wind. I always wear a full face helmet and never complain, lifting the visor provides any cooling I need.

You should always wear helmet; I'm agreeing with you. It doesn't hurt but it trys to stop you getting hurt (well majorly hurt) in an accident.
December 9, 200915 yr My bike weighs 700 pounds! In kilograms, that equates to really flippin' heavy! No CCD7, I have not tried to flip my bike, let alone pop a wheelie. Sorry, I really wanted to get a picture of her up in this thread, but the snow started falling today, so she ain't goin' anywhere.

It doesn't hurt but it trys to stop you getting hurt (well majorly hurt) in an accident. I am well aware but it just seems silly to wear a motocross helmet on a streetbike. Plus with Goggles it's alot less areodynamic. My bike weighs 700 pounds! In kilograms, that equates to really flippin' heavy! No CCD7, I have not tried to flip my bike, let alone pop a wheelie. December 11, 200915 yr I just picked up tickets for the International Motorcycle show in Minneaplois MN, USA. I can't wait. It's my bike fix in the middle of winter.
December 19, 200915 yr I bought a CRF250R '09 the other day. I'm so excited about it - it arrives on Monday or Tuesday! I'll get photos once I finish riding it but before I ride it again!

January 1, 201015 yr I would prefer both It roars in neutral, the only gear its been in since my uncle (who loves bikes [or used to, but still takes a shine to them] and rode it around our yard) because we haven't got a good place to ride it. Still waiting for our new ute to arrive as it will be our transport for it. Still got to get those gotcha straps though. And a ramp, but a ladder should suffice for now. Happy riding everyone!

Reading aboout riding I was a bit wondered. Then saw that you're from down under. And it's summer at your end of the world. Good luck riding it. Is this an ute? I have never heard of it. But if it is it looks rather handy. thanks to wikipedia.

January 1, 201015 yr CloneCommanderDelta7 can ride, but I cant, it is too cold, but no one says we must be separated from our bikes... Now that was hilarious! No wonder why they say that bikes are like chicks. The weather here is just perfect for riding. 25 Co, the sun is shining and it's New Year's day! We are the european land down under I guess.

January 1, 201015 yr Now that's just wrong, you'd get gas in your bed. He looks like he had some booze before. Wouldn't he be having gas even without the bike?
January 2, 201015 yr Now that's just wrong, you'd get gas in your bed. I was more worried about the chaffing

Wow 25 degrees.....lucky B*%&%$! It is freezing out here and I really miss riding...I was lucky to ride last Monday, but it was 2 degrees out.
January 2, 201015 yr Wow 25 degrees.....lucky B*%&%$!It is freezing out here and I really miss riding...I was lucky to ride last Monday, but it was 2 degrees out. Oh yes, I'm a lucky @#$&*%astard! According to the official meteorological institute, yesterday was the warmest-hottest new year's day ever recorded in Greece since 1897 (the first year of record keeping) and happened here where I live, in Crete (a.k.a land down under-the southest part of Europe together with Cyprus.) The temperature that was officially recorded was 30.1 Co During December, the lowest temperature never fell under 12 degrees. So, we took the bikes today (I was riding a friend's V-Strom 650 today- great bike!) and headed to the mountainous places here just to feel some freeze- and eat lamb chops of course! Btw, to speak the truth, I WANT SNOW!!! P.S 2 degrees CGH? Does this number really exists when it comes to temperature?
January 2, 201015 yr Author 2 degrees CGH? Does this number really exists when it comes to temperature? Uhm yes, in Celcius it does. Also tells you guys that I'm a hard core rider. (Boy was I happy that the road was clean that day)
