Captain Blackmoor Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 The first thing I noticed was the graphic effects of lightning you've put in there. Awesome. The fireplace looks okay but I'm not sure about the dark green cheese slopes above it. Furthermore the entry looks great! Good luck at the contest! Quote
Lorentzen Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 Sorry to bother everyone again I've made some edits a few times, and this should be my final version, unless I get some really great advice or come up with a very cool new idea. So the following pictures show the final version of this MOC. Thanks for all the advice it has helped me very very much. I hope you enjoy my entry for this competition. I've changed the fireplace a bit, removing the weird green cheese slopes at the top, and in front of the fireplace I've placed some dark grey tiles/a grill, instead of wooden planks that could catch fire I've added a small stool (the one I used in the very first edition of this MOC) Lastly I've given up on the whole photoshopping idea and just lightened a few trans yellow cheese slopes in the fireplace. MetroiD Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Good to hear this is the final version, you seem to have had enough of modding it by the sound of things... I do hope _you_'re happy with the final result, because that's the only thing that matters at the of the day. As a viewer/ voter, I have to say once again that this is one of my favourites - with or without Photoshop :D Quote
Lorentzen Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 If I know myself I'll probably change a few things anyway I know that I'll take much better pictures before the end of the competition for example Quote
Grimmy Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 That was really kewl. I like the story too. You packed a lot into a smal nice little place. lol I hope for their sake that they don't have any floor rot or else they could end up having a floor cave in when they have a few too many visitors over. Grimmy Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Thanks Lorentzen, I'm pretty amazed at all the creations here. :) Quote
Lorentzen Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 Now that the voting has begun, I really want to say many many thanks to all those who helped me re-design all those changes and small details into my MOC. As I've said before "Creative Critic" is the best idea for a contest I've ever come across - it does so many good things for a contest like this. There are so many excellent entries this year, and especially in the SMALL category - and many of those entries owe thanks to all the people giving critique. I've learnt a lot about MOCing - this entry was my first attempt at a MOC and the cretive critiquing has definitely given me the balls to try out again next year, and also the passion to build MOC just for the heck of it. I've already built a few things for my daughter to enjoy Good luck to everybody in the contest Quote
