Masked Builder Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 My Republic army is even bigger. I am a huge fan of the Clone Walker BP. Yeah I saw your army of 15 CWBP!
Walter Kovacs Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Yeah I saw your army of 15 CWBP! Yeah, about that. It's grown by a few since then. Had to make sure I had enough clones to stuff into the new CTT (that I don't own yet ). I think I can safely say that I'm addicted. God help me if I ever see them on sale.

I would have thought you'd want as many units as you can get when taking on some of the massive armies here!

I would have thought you'd want as many units as you can get when taking on some of the massive armies here! 1) I think Masked Builder had already claimed the Republic side, so in order to play I needed to field the CIS side. 2) My Republic forces are in pieces right now, and from the look of things they are going to stay that way for a while (this MOC is killing me). 3) My CIS force is still sizable. 4) I assumed that I'd be able to field my republic forces eventually, depending on who I was facing. I'd even feel somewhat comfortable going against Jammiedodger's CIS army, although he would outnumber my army (his CIS force is huge). 5) I'm playing for fun. I don't get too nutsed up about a forum game like this one. Now a mafia game is something different.

The army you enter with now will be what you use throughout the game (apart from additions to that faction). It may not be very SW-accurate to have the same units fighting each other, but it means the players can keep using their best set-ups. Do you want to change your army before I spend tomorrow setting up your game?

Besides, it'd look odd to have the republic fight itself. And this is just for fun anyway.

It's pretty much inevitable that similar factions will battle each other. I'll get the two remaining games started tomorrow, unless I encounter any army problems that are slow to be checked over.
ADHO15 Posted October 8, 2010 Author Posted October 8, 2010 TO ALL PLAYERS: If you didn't already know, both players are allowed one turn each before a new map is posted.
The Legonater Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 TO ALL PLAYERS: If you didn't already know, both players are allowed one turn each before a new map is posted. So that means we can't have two turns before you post a map, right?
ADHO15 Posted October 10, 2010 Author Posted October 10, 2010 So that means we can't have two turns before you post a map, right? That's right. If you have two turns before the next map is posted, you're more likely to make mistakes. Add that to the fact that there's probably at least one mistake between both people already and you start to get a bigger delay than is necessary.
Walter Kovacs Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 How is unloading battle droids handled? Say I wanted to unload 20 Battle Droids from an MTT, how many can I unload per turn, and how do they get deployed? Not that I'm planning on unloading them in 5 or 6 turns Also, do the larger vehicles, say an AT-TE, have to destroy the droids in front of them to move forward, or can they walk across the droids as if they aren't there? I apologize if you've answered this before. I didn't read through all 12 pages in this thread.

I apologize if you've answered this before. I didn't read through all 12 pages in this thread. Altough I know it's not great, I have to be consistent with the rest of the round and say one per turn. I plan to make several amendments to the rules before round 2 starts to make the game easier and more fun. For now though, you can unload one unit per vehicle per turn and they will be deployed fully functional with designated weapon ready for use next turn. They will appear in the space in front of the vehicle. If this is blocked it is the rear space and then one of the side spaces, etc. Vehicles only have RA so they cannot attack droids on the same space and hence they can't move onto an occupied space. This means that they have to attack the droids before moving into their space. Also, as Oky asked, you cannot destroy your own units/vehicles that may be blocking you! (except with airstrikes) Don't worry about it. It refreshes everyone's memory.
CommanderFox Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Nice tactic, Fox. Why thank you Its your turn Jammie! CF NOTE: Post moved from Clone Conflict Round 1: Game 4 at the request of the game host. ~Dragonator
Walter Kovacs Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Well, that changes things quite a bit. I was going to deploy my droids as a shield and force MB to plink his way through, while I nickle and dimed him to death. I doubt I have enough turns now to accomplish this. Time for plan B.

Walter Kovacs Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 But it would have been fun watching an AT-TE fall to a bunch of Battle Droids

ADHO15 Posted February 13, 2011 Author Posted February 13, 2011 So hows that big update coming? Good, thank you, Legonater. I've been working on new rules to make the game more fast-paced and exciting, I've added new vehicles and units to the game (though I'll no doubt need to add all of the summer things before Round 2 comes!) I also have something special that you may see in the next few days.
