Edit: Someone already fixed this

This is what the 2nd introduction paragraph says:

"After a longer hiatus that started in 1998, Pirates was introduced in 4+ series in 2004 and first launched in Duplo series in 2006. Pirates was eventually relaunched in 2009 for a year. It was then announced that Pirates will discontinue August 2010, and be revised again in about 2011."

Revised in 2011? Do these people have completly wrong info or is it top news from the Ambassador about 2011? :pir-cry_sad:

I really wouldn't trust Wikipedia for LEGO news, or any other news for that matter. :pir-tongue:

Most likely a hopeful fan. We've had rumors of new sets for other themes on Wiki that are usually not right.

Although I sincerely hope your source is correct, I would guess that it is false. Classic-Pirates.com would be the first to know if they were back. :pir-wink:

I think if you looked hard enough, you could find anything on the internet saying anything you wanted. This seems like an example of that.

Still, I wish I knew who wrote that, and why they wrote it.

It's possible they were basing it on Steve Witt's statement -

Just so you know, Pirates isn't gone its on hiatus like every other line that isn't one of our primary themes: CASTLE, SPACE, and CITY

Pirates isn't going away, its just not going to be a constant theme. Its going to phase in and out just like every other theme that isn't one of those three. Everyone is freaking out just a bit too much on this one and I just wanted to reassure you guys that pirates isn't disappearing. Just taking a break

I agree, Wiki can say more then you should believe :jollyroger: . That means, off the plank mate :pir-classic: .

I cannot believe anything untill our Ambassador says its true (and yes, I DO HOPE its true!)

That's what I was thinking. There's also been speculation that 2011 is when new pirate sets would appear too. The statement in the OP is really just a rehashing of what we've already heard.

That information is now gone from the article (and no, I didn't edit it out). The others are right to question the reliability of a wiki: I edited the main article to say, "Pirates is an OGEL theme that has to do with Internet hacking, specifically pancakes," and kept it there for ten minutes.

okay, that statement is so false for so many reasons! first off, august is not half way through the year. (9th month). If they were going to take it off the markey then, why even consider it "off" if it would be back in 2011(3months later)?? would lego even announce a 3 month cancellation?! This person on wiki is screwed in the head :pir-tongue:

I hope that this information is correct because i'll be so happy :pir_laugh2:, alas for this is only speculation and it has not been confirmed :oh3:

Remember it says "revised" which does not mean released. This revision may take several years of product devolpement so I think it's a little unfair to say this info is totally wrong just yet.
