Posted October 13, 200915 yr Well, as some of you may know, I wasn't able to make it to BrickCon this year... :'( But as soon as I heard about the "Best apocafied official set" category for the Apocafest, I HAD to do the 5972 Space Truck Getaway. I present you with the end result (full description on Flickr): I sure missed presenting this at the 'Con, hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!!!
October 13, 200915 yr Hello! The ramming device is truly impressive! I'd not feel comfortable if I had to cross paths with this vehicle. A really nice detail reminding of the classic vehicle days in the 80s is the use of the printed car doors which where part of the also black helicopter truck 6357. I am really happy to see these again after more than 20 years. Cheers, ~ Chris
October 13, 200915 yr Wow, this is really, really, really awesome. The way you did the suspension is incredible.
October 14, 200915 yr It's beautiful! I love the construction of the truck, making it post-apocafied just makes it better! The flames at the top are very neat, and the ramming front is great. good job of converting the set into a proper truck, the only thing I feel should be done is for the back to be a bit more post-apocafied, even if it just means adding a few chains to the container. Batbrick Away!
October 14, 200915 yr The looks, but also the techniques (suspension) are really cool. I like those cartoony exhausts with the huge flames. Now just make the containers transformable so that gun stations can emerge from it.
October 14, 200915 yr It looks very powerful. I agree on suspension. It is cool how you done it! The whole truck looks very good!
October 14, 200915 yr That's awesome! I was thinking on how to make the SPIII sets look like regular ground vehicles with wheels and this is it! Amazing how realistic it looks
