brickmack Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Halloween is tomorrow (For USA at least, not sure if it's a different day for other countries), so if you're dressing up, what are you going as? Haven't decided if I will trick-or-treat this year, but I might go as a Clone from Star Wars. Anyone else doing anything? Quote
Big Cam Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 I went to the bar last night, my brother in law and I went as the two dick in a box guys from the popular Saturday Night Live skit, I have pictures that I might post later. Quote
Captain Becker Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 As in USA is Halloween, we have what is called Pyhäinpäivä in finnish language or All Saints' Day i think its sayed in english. We put our best clhotes on and visit our family graves and remember our fallen warheros who falled when they defended our country. So its a holy day in here IMHO. To be honest i dont even understand whats Halloween all about? I just dont see any sense in it. Please Enlighten me whit this. Captain Becker Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I've been building a Dr. Rockso, the Rock n' Roll Clown costume for a couple days. Getting close to crunch time. It better dry a bit faster, otherwise I'll be shivering in my boots To be honest i dont even understand whats Halloween all about? I just dont see any sense in it. Please Enlighten me whit this. Captain Becker Halloween is an annual holiday that pretty much celebrates spooky fun and mischief. I believe we just celebrate it with costumes, pumpkin carving (and chunkin'), trick-or-treat and other activities just for fun. Children still have school and those that have a career or job have work but, come the night; fun! It's origins are linked to the change in seasons, annual harvest, and celebrating the dead. That's about the best I can explain it Quote
prateek Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Haha, Cam that's awesome. I'm not dressing up this year due to laziness, but my friend dressed up as a creeper from Minecraft: Quote
Mikeosaurus Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 To be honest i dont even understand whats Halloween all about? I just dont see any sense in it. Please Enlighten me whit this. Captain Becker I don't really get it myself, and I live here! As far as I can understand it seems to be a celebration of fear and spooky stuff in general. Its a bit difficult to pin an actual "meaning" on Halloween, and I'm not sure if it even has one besides "costume party!" Quote
Mikeosaurus Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 (edited) Thanks Prateek! That's some interesting info. Its intriguing to also see how other nations celebrate this holiday. American Halloween celebrations seem to be far removed from the holiday's origins... Edited October 31, 2011 by Mikeosaurus Quote
Corweena Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 here's mine.....I decided to do something classy, so I grew a mustache and became a gangster. I was carrying around a Thompson machine gun all night as well. And my friend's costume Quote
dr_spock Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 (edited) My wife carved a pumpkin minifig. Happy Halloween. Edited November 1, 2011 by dr_spock Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Ah yes, the annual costume Halloween thread, I've merged this with the existing topic. This year, I went to an online forum party disguised as a 2x4 lime brick. Quote
