BlueBard Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Hi everybody! I had some little MOC City elements for my never-ending display around and as I had a bit of time this afternoon I decided to took some pics. Hope you like it! First we have two typical bins of my city, Madrid. Now a 8398 turkish MOD: a Döner Kebab stand. (The credit for the meat idea goes to Spazski, a builder from the hispalug.com community. And they would say nobody likes Lego in Spain!) Here's now a little Pizza delivery bike for Al's. And last but no least a re-design of my little van, now adapted to go with my MOC Flower Shop (coming soon, promised! ) Comments are allways welcome. Quote
samthelegoman1 Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Sweet! I love the bike design. I might use it on one of mine Quote
Legostein Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Hello! These are all great. It's these things which give life to a city and makes photos lively. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
prateek Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 All these additions are great! Those bins are simple yet cool, and the carrot as a shawarma thingy is great! Quote
Milan Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Bins are the coolest! I like the bike, too. Nice work! Quote
marvinblue Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 These are pretty cool!! I like the kabab stand the best. I agree with Legostein, they will certainly add life to your backgrounds. Well done! Quote
streifen Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 the kebab stand will do for me. makes me hungry... Quote
Rick Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 That pizza guy is so simple, yet accurate. The colors of those simple plates just make it work instantly. Same for the bins (simple, yet instantly recognizable). The kebab is a little small, although I guess there has to be a time when they end up this small . I've seen a big castle troll's brown club being used as a kebab quite effectively some time ago. Quote
Raven Brickroft Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 I love little MOCs like these. I'm impressed about the shawarma. That little brown carrot's got a lot of use. From poop to food, Maybe I should get more of them. I've seen a big castle troll's brown club being used as a kebab quite effectively some time ago. Was the MOC in minifig scale? I think it would definitely look weird. Quote
Rick Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Was the MOC in minifig scale? I think it would definitely look weird. Yes, and on second thought, whereas this is undersized, that may have been oversized. I think it was on EB, but I can't seem to find it. Quote
badboytje88 Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Oh my! I love kebab, and this creation is just perfect. If I were you I'd change the legs of the kebab seller. I'd use a 1x2 white brick, and put some kiddy ligs under it. That would look perfect! Quote
Big Cam Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Although the simplest, I am most impressed with the trash bins. My city uses bins like that, and those look almost identical. The food stand is equally impressive, I'd love to see these in action in a city scene. Great work! Quote
BlueBard Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 Thanks everybody for the nice comments! That little brown carrot's got a lot of use. From poop to food, Maybe I should get more of them. The kebab is a little small, although I guess there has to be a time when they end up this small A bigger one wouldn't fit properly in a pathway If I were you I'd change the legs of the kebab seller. I'd use a 1x2 white brick, and put some kiddy ligs under it. That would look perfect! Actually that was my first idea but kiddy legs are so extremely difficult to find. I hope I'll get some with the Christmas sets of this year. If so, I'll change it for the final display. Quote
Captain Genaro Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Very nice. I love the colors on the van and the pizza delivery bike is awsome. Quote
Still Raindrop Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Very nice--those bins remind me of the bins I made a while ago I like the difference between my American bins and your Spanish ones. Quote
BlueBard Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 Thanks! I like the difference between my American bins and your Spanish ones. Yes, it's funny how so common urban element with practically the same design everywhere could have so many colour schemes These for example are just common in mi city, in the rest of the country there's a large variety, excepting the yellow one which is pretty regular as it's only for recyclable items. The Cobra Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 They all look great, just rememebr that when you rotate the Italian flag horizontally, you should have green on top and red on bottom Quote
BlueBard Posted October 18, 2009 Author Posted October 18, 2009 They all look great Thanks just rememebr that when you rotate the Italian flag horizontally, you should have green on top and red on bottom I know, but unfotunately I didn't have a green 2x2 tile so I decided to invert it. Quote
bright22 Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Thanks I know, but unfotunately I didn't have a green 2x2 tile so I decided to invert it. Amazing design! Great job... we are back to mid-80s (Simple, less bricks to create some wonderful MOC) Quote
BlueBard Posted October 21, 2009 Author Posted October 21, 2009 Amazing design! Great job... we are back to mid-80s (Simple, less bricks to create some wonderful MOC) Thanks! And remember "oldest tricks are allways the best" Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 These are some awesome City elements, BlueBard! I really them! These look absolutely realistic and very detailed! The only thing I do not like is the trousers of the kebap seller. Otherwise they are perfect! The most I like the kebpap stand and the flower car. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter Quote
BlueBard Posted October 21, 2009 Author Posted October 21, 2009 Very, very well done! Wow, thank you very much, Klaus-Dieter! The only thing I do not like is the trousers of the kebap seller. I know, I don't like them either For the final display I'll try to put him kid legs instead if the 2009AC is finally available here Quote
