Posted January 9, 200619 yr Discuss these great lines here. Me and my brother were big fans of Roboriders & Throwbots, but now the only one I still have is this one:
January 9, 200619 yr Aren't Roboriders under the Space forum? Anyway, I loved roboriders (not to the extent of Space Police I, Blacktron I, or Spyruis mind you, but I loved 'em ;) Don't remember TOO much about throwbots...other than I had a few
January 9, 200619 yr I bought throw-bots (licensed here as Slizers) sets back in the days when I took pilgrimage to Ullared, the biggest shopping town in the lands of the non-existant icebear that never was there. I bought tons of these, messed them up with space as some sort of giant space monsters, later bought some roboriders for parts like icy spears and green katanas. :D Now, they just remain as ancient MOCs lying around in the shape of fantasy monsters from various D&D settings...
January 9, 200619 yr I own the slizer which had 4 feeth. Just as useless as Bionicle if you ask me...

January 9, 200619 yr I own the slizer which had 4 feeth. Just as useless as Bionicle if you ask me... Manners :| KimT It's just my opinion. I didn't mean to be rude. If anyone felt offended, I apologise :)
January 9, 200619 yr Before Bionicle, I NOTICED Throwbots, even going so far as to look at the packaging... but they were pretty lame-lookin' robots. A year later, they were these "Roboriders", but looked like the same things. When Bionicle came, I RAIDED the discount bins to get these old guys, because they had Bionicle pieces in many colors. Their combiner models shown in the instructions were horrendously illogical. Strictly good parts sources. : )
January 10, 200619 yr Author I own the slizer which had 4 feeth. Just as useless as Bionicle if you ask me... BLASPHEMY!
January 11, 200619 yr Their combiner models shown in the instructions were horrendously illogical. How so? Yeah, I got the Throwbots. They were alright. Nothing too amazing, but they were alright. They are presently in pieces on the bottom of my box of BIONICLE sets. As for the Roboriders... I was not at all impressed by them. ~AaronCrane--
January 11, 200619 yr Their combiner models shown in the instructions were horrendously illogical. How so? They had no attention to uniformity of color, or much else. They were structurally "wonky". In a sick way though, they were more mobile than the Bionicle combiners of the first few years. But we're talking my opinion here. You might see qualities in Throwbot combiners outside my perception.
January 15, 200619 yr Have a few of them myself. Really good for parts, since they have some good colors. Just used one of them in my new Makuta MOC.
January 15, 200619 yr I was extremely excited when I got Throwbots. I must disagree, though... The Turbo/Ice/Fire/Scuba combiner rocked. A little off with colors, but very poseable. Millenia was awesome, too. Loved the whole tires/feet thing. When they left, I was disappointed. Bionicle has filled that empty hole in my heart, but not fully. I would've loved to see more. Roboriders was... eh, pretty cheap. Except for the huge one, they were pretty bland.
January 21, 200619 yr I wish that I was not such a Bionicle mocing fanatic, I have multiple sets of most Throwbots and RoboRiders but they've all been utilized as parts sources for my mocs.....Jinzo knows... bfs
April 30, 20231 yr Just yesterday I received the last disks that I need to complete all the first way. YES! I completed, finally, the collection that I started with my brother 24 years ago ^^'. I have the eight first Slizers Fire-Ice-City-Sub-Judge-Jungle-Rock-Energy (in Europe, you know, were Slizers, not Throwbots) with the 6 disks all of them! Good bye! Edited July 11, 20231 yr by A.
