vectorcustoms Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Hello I am new here. I have seen some great work here! I am able to produce high quality high detail, tiny vector graphics in various output formats, ideal for minifigures. However my problem / question is printing related Does lego screen print its figures? Can anyone get close to lego printed standard? I am not talking stickers or decals, direct printing onto plastic. Inkjet Sublimation might work but wont print white? I only know of ALPS printers that can print white, then sublimation heat transfer? but they are only made in japan now. any suggestions? thx Quote
babyjawa Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 (edited) Does lego screen print its figures? Can anyone get close to lego printed standard? Yes Lego screen prints, and I have seen quite a few people use the same process and have very Lego like results. One being this ebay seller. I only know of ALPS printers that can print white, then sublimation heat transfer? but they are only made in japan now. ALPS printers can print white, but they can't print directly onto minifigures. You would have to use decals, or some other means of application. Which isn't what you seem to want to do. A lot of people I know have gotten them second hand through ebay or craigslist. They are the most plausible options that are known to me. Edited October 18, 2009 by babyjawa Quote
IronArtist Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Very interesting. I always assumed that it could be done through silk screening. I must contact this customizer and see if he'll print some of my decals for me. Quote
babyjawa Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 A few days ago a customizer named Roaglaan found this website. They do a form of printing, but not the same as Lego's. Quote
