EDIT: I wondered why there wasn't news of this already. I'm sure when I searched before posting that I unticked the box for 'search this forum only?'. Sorry for giving you more work to do MODS!

Possibly. I'm buying the frog so i can construct a wreath as was done in an advent calender (I think the 2004 edition), using just 2x2 L shapes (piece 2420)

Count me as another who will miss out on these and wishes he wouldn't...

If someone manages to end up with more than a few of these as spares (preferably a full set) at a very reasonable price, please feel free to send me a PM and we'll talk. :sweet:

I remember seeing the little sets at the checkout as a small child. It was a guaranteed way to make a sale to me. When I came out of my dark ages, the concept was mostly gone, reduced to a few Arctic Expedition and Racers sets, but I bought them anyway. There's something enticing about a cheap set, especially with a minifig.

It's really a shame, these sets would sell in the stores here, I'm sure of it. Now the only time we see them is in Target just prior to holidays. We had impulse Pirates and City at Valentines and a pair of Power Miners for Halloween. There's no real logic to the sets chosen but they always sell here.

can anyone tell me what page the offer is on because I have bought the scottish daily mirror and can't find anything about it

i think this is stupid. only allowing one place in the world to get something is just dumb. i like the sets, the price, but really i think its stupid that so many people wont be able to get these. somebody should buy like 400 and sell them to americans like me! i really want that tan straw hat for making the best custom Monkey D. Luffy (from a japanese comic called One Piece about pirates)!!

Oh, how I want these myself. OTOH, here in the US we do generally get LEGO cheaper than anywhere else, and we have our own exclusives.

I just wish everything was available everywhere. And for longer periods of availability! And for free!

Aargh, I just found out about this today; and I've been making a note to check the Mirror every Sunday since I missed the start of the Star Wars one. I checked it yesterday, why didn't I see it???

Anyhow, I got two of today's and the lady in Smyths (the Irish toy chain) kindly let me take a Fireman's Car instead of one of the tractors. Hopefully I can do the same tomorrow and get yesterday's Doctor's Car as well. I'll probably get a good few of the Steamroller, because that minifig is my favourite City Legoman of them all. For the Star Wars one, I got up to a dozen of some of the models (The STAP Fighters are still lined up on my DVD shelf) but I probably won't go quite as nutty for this promotion. Cool, though.

Lucky UK :cry_happy::cry_sad:

I really hope we get something like this in NZ

CommanderFox

That's pretty unlikely . . . Last ones we had were the Shell impulse sets about 10/12 years ago. My Dad took me out once a week and brought me each set. :cry_happy:

Not sure if the Scottish Mirror are doing this but the Daily Record are. You can claim them in TRU and RS McColls

I discovred that the daily mail in scotland is the daily record so I have started collecting the record and will be posting away for them next week

This promotion has cupouns as the SW promotion had some time ago?

How does that work?

Exactly the same, snip the token out and hand it in to the relevant store chain in your region on the day (although my local shop will take older tokens too). Alternatively, collect seven different tokens and send them off to the address, along with a cheque (€13.99 from Ireland) to get the full set of twelve in the post.

Fantastic! :classic:

Thanks Dunjohn!

Just to clarify, this isn't the same frog as The National Autistic Society promo

NAS promo is 7606 (frog)

Mirror promo is 7804 (lizard)

although as a random coincidence they seem to contain the same number of (different) pieces.

For those unhappy about the availability, I'm buying multiple sets by post (instore collection is fraught with difficulty in my experience) so I'd suggest people check BL in a few weeks; I won't be the only one. Just remember they're really not "free" for anyone!
