Milan Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Ok I was just watching American Choppers, while reading EB during commercials... During last commercial, I turned my head to continue reading and was shocked when noticed that I have new tag! New, because it looked like black space ship, perfectly placed, but somehow funny... Due to watching TV, my eyes did not manage to focus properly to the space ship. I have stared at it a 2 or 3 seconds, and then it start moving!!! I scared like hell and then burst out of laught. It was not a space ship tag, it was big black fly!

5150 Lego Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 I remember a while ago a pest control company had a TV commercial out were it started out as a regular commercial for some ordinary house hold product, then all of a sudden bug started to appear crawling on the screen. Started with a fly or two, then a centipede would crawl on. They had to remove the add cause people were slapping there TVs with swatters. Though i never took a swatter to my TV, i do remember freaking out when i thought i saw an 8" harry centipede crawling on my TV!

When that mean guy starts to get annoyed because Indy blew up the the plane a bug shot into his mouth and he started pully a dirty look but carried on. I thought it was real so I started looking round for a fly but then after 2 seconds I rewinded the film and saw it was on the movie.

If your eyes weren't focusing on it directly, it actually looked like there was something running on your screen. I can't remember now who it was, but I remember seeing it around the time I registered here.

I don't think it matters if it's animated but the files size limitation is so small, you'd have to have a pretty small sized .gif image.

Yeah, I remember that, too. That user might just had too big avatar, limit is 20 kb, your fly is 24kb, but its size can be decreased, without ruin it.

From what I've read in the guidlines, it's all about size. They probably don't like them becasue usually /gif's are big in size and would really drag down the load times. A tiny 5kb .gif, I doubt they'd have a problem with. But again, I'm not sure.
