Has anyone noticed that all the Bat veicles have black wings?

What color wings should they have?

I was expecting a fancy pinkish Bellville feel to it :D :P

That was actually how they came up with many of the concepts. They used whatever parts they had on hand and Bellville parts happened to be there. IIRC they were little pink butterfly/fairy wings...

KIDDING!!! *wacko*

You misunderstood the tone I was using i'm just sayin that they all have wing(s).

Actually, I was just kidding with you. Much of the stuff in the bat universe is shown with wings/tail fins. It's kind of a theme for the character.

I just noticed that every site that has Batman products none even talk bout the Arkham. Are you sure theres gonna be such thing.

*gg* LEGOS *gg*

We have it on VERY reliable authority.

A Giant Bat smashed through Sam's window while he was contemplating how criminals are a cowardly and supersticious lot; and told him.

Yes. I'm positive. I've seen it. I've held it in my hands - I've played with the minifigs that come with it. Just because there aren't pics out there doesn't mean it isn't coming out. It's a TRU exclusive.

"Other sites" probably aren't talking about it for one of a couple of reasons. A) it's a toy store site and since it's not available for them to sell, they aren't going to mention that it exists OR B) it comes out later in the year and pics aren't available yet - so why talk about it? They don't have any info because they haven't seen it.

We've talked about it *at length* over at the LOG forums and provided a detailed description of the sets.

Here's the descrption from Legions of Gotham:

ARKHAM ASYLUM!

Yes, that's right, it's an Arkham set. Someone in another thread here at LoG posted a photo of the Harry Potter castle set as a potential inspiration for Arkham. Well you were spot-on. The Arkham set is built in a similar, modular fashion, but in dark, "Batman" style colors. Blacks, Dark Grays, Browns are the color palette of Arkham. Arkham comes with a "wrought iron" front gate and 3 buildings.

The center building is the largest, at 16 studs wide. It has the front door with an internal sliding "jail" door that you can use to block it. Above the door on the outside is a small trapdoor you can open that allows a rope to fall out. On the inside of the central building, the second floor contains 3 cells that are openable by a clever mechanism you operate with a lever on the side of the building. The prototype I saw had stickers on the cells that said "Riddler, Two-Face, and Penguin" ( I think) Hopefully there will be more stickers included with the set so you can put different names on the cells.

The other two buildings are only 8 studs wide and serve as "towers" of Arkham. On the inside, upper floor is the Scarecrow's cell. The outside of the building has a small "gargoyle" that looks remarkably like Scarecrow. If you push in the gargoyle, it knocks off the wall and door to Scarecrow's cell, allowing him to escape. Scarecrow has a barrel and some bales of "straw" in his cell. The lower level of this building has two large, curved, "wrought iron" elements that are held closed with a tile that has a lock printed on it. Looks like a cell for the Joker, perhaps?

The last small building piece contains a "glass" cell with "vine" stickers for... you guessed it. Poison Ivy! There were some LEGO plant elements inside the cell with her. The upper level of this building has a "restraining table" with some "tools" in the room... for interrogation, perhaps?

Also present in this set was Nightwing on his motorcycle, the Riddler, and an Arkham van that contains what looks like a medical restraining bed. You can put one of the villains with batcuffs inside the van for "prisoner transport

OMG! I cant wait to get it. With this info I will buy all the Batman sets and put the villians in the cells. I may be 17 but I play with LEGO like a kid and that is why my username is lego KID.

I'm sure we'll have the sets before August and that this fantastic Arkham Asylum will be available on SAH and specialised toy stores (TRU and others) everywhere in Europe ;)

I send an email to lego to ask when the sets will be available here in Belgium and they mailed me back that they haven't decided on a final release date, but that it would be June or sooner

Thats good to know. Then it is sooner then some had feared, that it would be.

Christian,

Usually, Lego France is really good releasing the sets at their due date (the one written on trhe retailer's catalog). For Batman the due date is may for the 4 sets, and September for the 2 others (The Asylum is not in because its an exclusive I guess).

So I guess for the other European countries it will be the same ;)
