January 16, 201015 yr I agree. Also, in the past a lot of times instructions already have been up long before the official release of the sets. Svelte, that's exactly what i meant Edited January 16, 201015 yr by metalandi
January 16, 201015 yr Is where a fashion shop on 1 floor ?. On the photo i se 2 display dummyies in window. A lady have been shopping where she has black hair, redshirt and green legs.
January 17, 201015 yr I can't wait to buy/build this. As for the next modular building: IMHO either a post office - as many have suggested, or a bank. A personal preference would also be some kind of cinema/theatre. Oh well, if Lego doesn't make them then I'll have to build them for myself first!!!
January 17, 201015 yr All we should need is the number starting with 45xxxxx on the back page of the instructions in tiny tiny print if they really are on the cache Are you sure it starts with 45######? If it is there, I will find it! ...Found instruction number 4505165, for a total of 114 booklets.... ... ... Found instruction number 4509648, for a total of 230 booklets.... ... ... Found instruction number 4513463, for a total of 272 booklets.... Just got the Corner Cafe! public class LegoScraper { public static void main(String[] args) { HttpClient client = new HttpClient(); int found = 271; for (int i = 4513463; true; i++) { HttpMethod get = new GetMethod("http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildinginstructions/" + i + ".pdf"); try { client.executeMethod(get); byte[] body = get.getResponseBody(); if (body.length != 10839) { System.out.println("Found instruction number " + i + ", for a total of " + (++found) + " booklets...."); IOUtils.copy(new ByteArrayInputStream(body), new FileOutputStream("instructions/" + i + ".pdf")); } } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } } } Edited January 17, 201015 yr by Follows Closely
January 17, 201015 yr This looks to be about the best Mod.-Build. since Green Grocer. Perhaps even better! I definitely need to get this one to go with my CC and GG. Here comes the big question- should I get this or 10210 Imperial Flagship??? :O
January 18, 201015 yr Is it possible to buy all the little pieces yourself then build the lego? I don't think the dark green windows and awnings are available, other than this set, I'm also not sure about the Prince of Persia arches. It might be possible if you used other colours, and exchanged a few parts, but it's hardly worthwhile. The price per part for modular buildings has been pretty low, so actually buying the sets is about the cheapest way to get it.
January 18, 201015 yr This looks to be about the best Mod.-Build. since Green Grocer. So... basically, you think this is better than the Fire Brigade? Personally, I think its the best building since the last three... Steve
January 18, 201015 yr I just got back from the LEGO store in Woodbridge. They told me the release date was August. That would suck.
January 18, 201015 yr So... basically, you think this is better than the Fire Brigade?Personally, I think its the best building since the last three... Steve Four. You forgot Market Street! It was a Modular and was part of the line, so don't give me that hoo-ha about it being a factory set. This pilot (read: me) is tired of people discounting the fact that Market Street is a modular building because of either a. It was not designed by Berard when in fact he helped Erik Brok immensely while in the development of the model or b. It was part of the Factory line which is the silliest thing I have ever heard. Market Street on!
January 18, 201015 yr I would also agree that this is the best modular..... so far that is Cafe Corner was great Market Street I found mediocre Green Grocer was amazing Fire Brigade is awesome Something about this one though I find very nice.

Market Street on! I've been saying this for aaaagggeeeesss, it's a shame though, as it appears to have been forgotten by LEGO themselves. The pics of all of them together in 10197 Fire Brigade are missing Market Street. Nevermind though, you and me know the truth. Edit: Oh, and Market Street is still my favourite of them all! January 18, 201015 yr As a single set based on looks, Green Grocer still trumps all modular sets (including Market Street). It's flashy, loaded with details, tilework is superb, the green captivates the eye. However, GG fails if you buy 2 or more of it. Cafe Corner, Fire Brigade and especially Grand Emporium look just fantastic if you have 2 or 3 or 4 of them stacked with extra floor or two and next to each other, while the only thing you can do to multiple GGs qithout it being awkward is to get another 2nd floor in. At least, that's my take. And MS is the worst since it was only available for about a year and a few months and I didnt get mah copy
January 18, 201015 yr However, GG fails if you buy 2 or more of it. Boo! I disagree! I still have the following layout set up, almost 2 years later - unheard of amongst my collection and I still think it looks beautiful
January 18, 201015 yr Edit: Oh, and Market Street is still my favourite of them all! Errr... That's why you use a pic of CafeCorner as your avatar!
January 18, 201015 yr I'm sorry to say that Market street has never been my favorite... It just didn't blend that well with the rest of the modular buildings, apart from this hideous blue color. Ever seen a blue building??... Edited January 18, 201015 yr by Jasper Joppe Geers
January 18, 201015 yr I'm sorry to say that Market street has never been my favorite...It just didn't beldn that well with the rest of the modular buildings, apart from this hideous blue color. Ever seen a blue building??... I agree about the color scheme, that was a mistake. It would have been better done in all black or dark/sand red. Like all regular canal houses in Amsterdam. I still like the way it was done though. The only blue buildings in a closely resembling style I have seen are these in Rotterdam: And that was done before they were demolished.
January 18, 201015 yr You can't blame an AFOL for trying to smuggle as much dark blue and medium blue into one set as he could - they were both rare colours in basic bricks at that time. Shame that that was the first year when quality went really noticeably downhill - the dark blue inconsistencies in the first batches were terrible!

Shame that that was the first year when quality went really noticeably downhill - the dark blue inconsistencies in the first batches were terrible! I'm not blaming him for smuggling in the blue. I still have Market Street build up, as kind of a tribute to Erik. Since his website inspired me a lot and actually was one of the triggers to get building again.
January 18, 201015 yr time. Shame that that was the first year when quality went really noticeably downhill - the dark blue inconsistencies in the first batches were terrible! I've been very lucky in that aspect with my copy of the set. Which, by the way, I love to bits, regardless of its colour, lack of furniture, etc etc.
January 18, 201015 yr I for myself never considered Market Street as part of the series. It's a nice building but lacks something, not sure what it is but there is something missing. as for the other buildings I'm very fond of them all... 1 Cafè Corner it showed what Lego could do if they put their minds to it and will always be my favorite. 2 Green Grocer it just has so much hidden detail like the mouse hole and such. 3 Grand Emporium although I haven't build it yet looks like just another hit. 4 Fire Brigade the stile is a little square but its still well designed and has some cool things going for it. and I just hope that we will get more of these for many years to come!
January 18, 201015 yr Errr...That's why you use a pic of CafeCorner as your avatar! It's not a pic of Cafe Corner, it's a pic of a Lego citizen committing suicide off the top of Cafe Corner! I hear work conditions are really poor in that cafe.
January 18, 201015 yr So... basically, you think this is better than the Fire Brigade?Personally, I think its the best building since the last three... Steve Okay well really what I meant to say is that is looks better than all of the previous ones except perhaps GG, so you could say my statement was correct, and yours is meaning that you think the previous three are all better than this. But who cares anyway, we can all agree that this set looks spectacular (I hope)!
January 18, 201015 yr Are you sure it starts with 45######? If it is there, I will find it!Just got the Corner Cafe! Nope, the instructions are not on http://cache.lego.com.
