You blew it up and sharpened it? You could get the same effect by zooming in. :sceptic: It actually looks blurry and pixelated. Nice affort, though.

Nifty. Kinda looks like an old fashion toy store, aside from the excalator.

Course, I don't even have Cafe` Corner yet.

I already like this set enough to know I'll buy it, probably two if the price per piece makes it attractive.

I'm surprised that some people find the facade a little bland, to me it seems to have typical classical restraint, which goes well with its slightly Victorian feel. I guess people were expecting Jugenstil (hope I got the spelling somewhere correct), or Art Deco. I'm also pleased by the number of minifigs, especially since some appear to be the newer print city ones.

I too like the window washer, and will probably mod the SHOP sign and the billboard.

Even if this set doesn't have the wow factor of the sand green GG, I think the colour selection makes it a much better colection of pieces, after all the reason the tan and light grey Creator house was so popular is because these colours have a lot of realistic applications.

Holy brick! That looks just like Svelte's MOC! :oh: Well, except it's not dark tan and brown of course. It looks great. Loving the the brick-built "Shop" sign and billboard!

Rumor from good sources is that it has a working escalator.

Motorised or just moving? I'm not sure I like the idea of motorised parts upsetting the currently awesome price per part.

And I'm wondering... how would that work? I don't have enough knowledge of new Technic pieces that I can't picture how it would work inside a cramped building (moar reason to buy more than 1 copy much?)

I have an idea. You can put 1x4 plates onto these tread links, so if you put such plates with cheese slopes on them onto a tilted treadmill made out of those, you have a working escalator. The only thing they'd have to do to make it work is to add a knob on the side.

You're one month too late.

I'll be optimistic and say there's still a few LEGO stores (in IL) that has some Cafe Corners, though I wouldn't waste time xD

And I still had plans to buy another CC (for parts) and I'll likely abandon that plan even without CC's discontinuity because GE is looking to be a much better parts source anyways.

I hate to tip everyone off since I haven't decided if I might go for one extra CC myself, but I'm in the Maryland area, and I still saw some at a couple of the nearby stores here and in Virginia. So it's not impossible yet.

I think i would change that 'Shop' sign in an instant...

Maybe some neon like thingy could look good here,

using some blue pneumatic tube...

If it is indeed just named 'SHOP' i'll get in first and re-name it 'POSH'

A much better name for an Emporium.

They're using tan baseplates? Or is that just extra plates...

And how' ya gunna get down with just a one-way escalator? Clearly, we need to buy more than 1 copy, the justification is piling :skull:

I always imagined a department store should be much bigger than that...

Thanks for the amazing new pics, TheBrickster!

It's incredible what a difference sharp, well photographed images make! The window detailing with the arches and the lovely chandelier are stunning!
