ILikePi Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 How are you guys seeing this on the lego.com site?Go the exclusives section of the site or click here. For some reason searching for the set or looking in the Creator theme doesn't yield any results... Quote
Rick Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Interior The railing around the escalators is great and I'm glad to see there's an (limited) interior to the middle and top floor as well. And look at all those dark green windows. An absolutely epic set! Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Remember the talk of clues from the last modular to the next one, the third floor is a toy department ! Do the math, like Winter Toy Shop ! On closer inspection of the picture of the second floor (homewares) there is room to add more merchandise among other things. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Fugazi Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Wow, there's more decoration on the 2nd level than what I was expecting! And look at that whole wall of dark green windows, it's positively decadent! (in a good way! ) Quote
Bachus Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 What a lovely building. Perhaps I'll buy two... Quote
cottonwood Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Wow, the middle floor looks great! Also, a quote from LEGO Shop: Seven minifigs! So apparently the ground floor is a clothing department, the second floor is a housewares department, and the top floor is the toy department (complete with toy house and push scooter)! Are they counting the faceless ones in the windows then? Quote
Fugazi Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Are they counting the faceless ones in the windows then? Maybe they're just normal printed heads turned backwards? That would be very considerate of them! Quote
richb Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 OT: But I see with the Grand Emporium showing up in the store under the category Exclusives, Green Grocer has been shifted to Hard to Find. They still have GG in stock though. If anyone has held off buying one, it's probably a good idea to get that order in ASAP. Seeing the run-up on secondary market prices for Cafe Corner and Market Street, I don't think I want to even know what Green Grocer winds up selling for on eBay in a month. $400? $500? Right now I'm thinking a buy-and-hold strategy on Green Grocer is a better investment than the US stock market. Quote
GRogall Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Is it me or has Lego changed the date? When I read it this morning it said it will be released in the US on the 20th of this month, now it says March 3rd. Quote

I'm with you on that Richb, not a bad idea to grab a few, hang on for a while, then whore them out on eBay when the time is right. Quote

No offense, but i cannot say i applaud this attitude... I don't blame you guys for thinking this way, but this exactly encourages the idea of making money on Lego, over the backs of those who just like to play with it. Thanks to people like you we are generally paying more and more for our bricks then they are worth it. And i hate it. I hate the idea the Lego will be tommorow's new money spinner... Sorry for saying this, and for being off topic here.. Quote
Svelte Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 bluemoose over at brickset says the set is already out at Milton Keynes Yay! Exiciting! The price is being reported at GBP99.99, so while it is an amazing set, it's hard not to feel ripped off since LEGO upped the prices for the two most recent Exclusives on S@H in Jan but doesn't appear to have changed the price in many other regions. So now we in Aus pay the equivalent of GBP166 or EUR190 Plus the expensive and slow shipping. Quote

The first two modular buildings had discounted introductory pricing for a few days, so perhaps that UK price will rise in time. I would really like to see a Lego store in Sydney or Melbourne, so at least we could avoid the expensive shipping. Quote

I'd love to see that as well. Lego Shop in Sydney. Dont forget when you order form S@H Australia they charge your Credit Card in DNK so you'll be charged cross border and muti-currency fees. Not to mention the already inflated prices. Quote

"Hard to Find" means that it is available at select stores in addition to the LEGO store. It has no bearing on availability. In the United States, Green Grocer is sold at Toys "R" Us in addition to directly from LEGO. Quote

When they first listed the Fire Brigade on S@H it was listed at $349 NZD, the Green Grocer with more pieces listed at $219 NZD and cafe Corner at $149 NZD and they expected us to buy it and pay $80 NZD postage on top. I don't think so. Meanwhile USA and United Kingdom were priced at $220 NZD after exchange rate. I think Lego was trying to rip somebody off. It is one reason why I will not buy the new Rebel Blockade Runner either. Also when the Cafe Corner and Green Grocer were originally released they were priced at $249 NZD which is far more reasonable. I just can not see how Lego justified a $100 NZD increase for a set with less pieces than the Green Grocer. They have recently dropped the price of the Fire Brigade to $299 NZD for this is still to much and the postage is a rip off compared to $18 USD for the Americans. I think it's because the stock for S@H Aust and NZ comes from Denmark or Germany so I think they need to rip us off by doing that. Quote
