wooootles Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Glad it's tan instead of the yellow I initially believed... It may even be as good a parts pack, too... Compared to all the drama and qq ensued by the TRU exclusive, I'm pretty positive this one will be a unanimous hit among us forumers. Quote
Kit Fisto Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Thank you for great description! And what about interrior? Quote
David Thomsen Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Thank you for great description! And what about interrior? Legoliner only seems to have one picture, and it's of the exterior. I kind of wish I didn't already know about this set. The wait is intolerable. At least official pictures can't be that far away. Quote
Mirandir Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Interesting information 'Legoliner Pilot' - I can understand not posting images if you have promised a friend you won't post them. Only so few minifigs for such a big set and only one floor has heaps of detail to it, I guess we just have to wait - maybe next months toy fair Lego might show it to the world - we can only hope. Actually I count to as many as at least 7 minifigs in the set. I didn't notice those fashion dummies before. And there is two of thoose in the window on one side. In the window on the other side there's just a big reflection so there could teoretically be as many as 9 minifigs in the set. And at least one of the fashion dummies are wearing a dress. It's a bit faint as it's seen through a window but it looks like the white dress from castle/pirates. But that may change as it's just a prelim picture that I've seen. Also I think the two upper floors doesn't need heaps of details. I think that would just make the building look cluttered. And besides that saves bricks for the interior. And comparing the piece count with CC I'm pretty convinced that 10211 Grand Emporium comes with an interior. And I just realized that I think the building comes with no less than 22 of that new "Prince of Persia arch" in white... Quote
Rick Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Over on LowLUG, 'Telemachus' has posted a thumbnail picture (I know, it's annoyingly small) of 10211 from a Dutch webshop's site. Quote

Also, why does the child appear to be wearing the pirates red and white striped shirt? Agreed about the upper floors. Yes, I only have a 283x283 pixel-large image of the box. It isn't preliminary, either, because it's not stamped, right? Quote

Follows Closely Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 (edited) THANKS To be honest, that is a bit of a let down. But I will hold onto hope when the hi-res pictures come out. Edited January 13, 2010 by Follows Closely Quote
Er!k Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Blown up much? No, the thumbnail had a propert of 90x90. I changed that in the URL to 1000x1000 and this came out Quote
bright22 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Well guys, I managed to get the bigger picture, so here it is Goodness me... I should start to save money now! Quote
astra Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I'm so getting a space problem when this is added to my collection... I just ordered the Fire Brigade but I think that this one will be in my collection this year also :) Looks like a really nice and original addition! Can't wait to see what Lego is developing for the next addition! Quote
Follows Closely Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Well guys, I managed to get the bigger picture, so here it is Many thanks for the image. I will now have to change the color scheme of my next MOC, as I was going with a tan. That would make too many tan buildings in my town. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Well guys, I managed to get the bigger picture, so here it is Sweet! Thanks for sharing. Quote
MetroiD Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Thanks for the image, Rick & Er!k, that was very kind of you. This is precisely why I don't like prelim pics... The set looks like a bit of a let down to me, although I'll probably be proven wrong later on. In any case, it looks like it contains a bunch of wonderful and really useful bricks, which is great news! Just one more stupid question: even though this is not a prelim pic (i.e. doesn't have a stamp on it), shouldn't it still be a link rather than be officialy posted on the board? Not that it matters really Quote
badboytje88 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 (edited) Wow this looks great! I see we'll be getting a glass cleaner which is just pure win. A ice cream vendor girl with the same torso as the limo/helicopter set girl, a little kid with a pirate torso, and a woman holding something odd with the irana hair and the lovely torso from last years trailer set. Great minifigs! Oh and I love those things above the window! This set looks like it has an interior! Edited January 13, 2010 by badboytje88 Quote
Jippon Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 (edited) It looks great!! It reminds me of a moc shown on this website or the brothers brick... can't remember who made it, but it was awesome. EDIT: Found it: Clicky Edited January 13, 2010 by Jippon Quote

Just one more stupid question: even though this is not a prelim pic (i.e. doesn't have a stamp on it), shouldn't it still be a link rather than be officialy posted on the board? Not that it matters really I really like it. More or less what I expected. I'm really hoping it will have a detailed interior as well. The shop windows at the ground floor are really nicely done and I love the realism (nothing overly fancy) of the whole building (Green Grocer was just right still, but they shouldn't have stretched the architectural detailing much further). The only thing I dislike is the colors of the flags (the blue looks a little out of place). Svelte: how did you know, you really didn't see any pictures at the time you built your MOC? I guess now that TheBrickster has frontpaged it, it's ok to post pictures of it. Quote
blueandwhite Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 The colours look better than I was expecting (the rumoured yellow and black weren't exactly awe-inspiring to me), however the model looks to be a bit lackluster at this point. I'm really hoping that they've upped the anti on the interior because the exterior details just aren't that exciting. I'm still glad that the building turned out to be tan and grey as opposed to being yellow though. Quote
Palms Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Sweet!!!! From what I can see this is my favorite building so far. Quote
Matn Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Ah, it looks very much like the architecture of the Fire Station. With this picture in mind, I don't see this looking better (or even equal to) than the Cafe Corner or Green Grocer, which were fantastic. Quote
jamtf Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Thanks for sharing the photo. Great to see that we can expect another modular building. Let's hope that the actual set will be better than the one in the preliminary picture. Nonetheless I think everyone will add the set to their collection anyway. It is a coincidence that the MOC made by Svelte is so similar to the actual 10211 Grand Emporium set. Both have the same characteristics such as the 2 plants in front of the door, the design of the entrance, the lamp post and the mailbox on the right hand side of the building. Judging the real set, Lego apparently had some blue vest / striped shirt pirate torso leftovers that they decided to enclose with this set. Quote
drdavewatford Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Sorry if I missed it, but do we know when this will be available ? Dr. D. Quote
MetroiD Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Sorry if I missed it, but do we know when this will be available ? March, just like the previous Modulars. Svelte: how did you know, you really didn't see any pictures at the time you built your MOC? Weeell Svelte??? Quote
DashIngG Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I really like Svelte's version better (as far as I can tell from this image) but there are some nice details to this, like the awnings. Hope they're printed, but there are no modulars with sticker so I probably shouldn't have to worry. Quote
