Happy happy, joy joy!

This looks totally fabu, I cant wait. I really need to figure out a display for these. In the process of buying a house, and I may actually have space to put them out! I have the three modular buildings so far (I dont count Market Street in this "series"), but only one assembled. Hopefully I can come up with a display worthy of the coolness of these buildings.

Wow, the resemblance to Svelte's one is incredible. I would have preferred the dinosaur-leaves to the flowers in the front. The one thing I find particularly strange is the giant advertisement board on top. It blends in with the top border, but in the small pictures you can clearly see there's a board on the roof.

Heck, I'll probably get this anyways, but it's a little bit of a let down for now. I'm with TheOtters on this one.

Looks good so far. Special green parts are nice (new domes and new colors). I hope this is still prelim as I can’t get over blandness of the upper level. A lot of the building is very repetitive in parts but that’s how the company gets the economies of scale to keep the price down. I imagine TLC put more money into size rather than details (requires having many “Lot” types like Green Grocer and can be costly).

As always I’ll be buying these for the parts! (best piece to price ratio is in Creator sets like these!)

10211 design is nice. great color scheme too.

looks like the crown wall has new arch brick part in tan and white color.

i like to see the interior with escalator and chandelier.

I really like Svelte's version better (as far as I can tell from this image) but there are some nice details to this, like the awnings.

Hope they're printed, but there are no modulars with sticker so I probably shouldn't have to worry.

Considering the other modulars, the awnings are probably fully brick-built.

The one thing I find particularly strange is the giant advertisement board on top. It blends in with the top border, but in the small pictures you can clearly see there's a board on the roof.

Thanks for highlighting. I didn't even notice that as being a billboard. I thought it was some 'stamp'/marking on the picture.

Based on the nature of the building, I think it will have a great interior. A store needs inventory. A department store means there are likely lots of neat displays inside of... whatever. The exterior of the building is a bit bland but not unsurprisingly. The high piece count lends credibility to the idea that there is a well-furnished interior.

They are releasing these too fast! I've set my budget for one a year, and I still need Fire Brigade! I can wait for this one a while.

it looks great, but it lacks grandure, though. in any case, it's gonna be difficult to do better than the previous sets. Hope the interior looks brilliant, i guess we'll see that rather soon.

it is already another house at the corner... so i guess they're going for a city block, now?

I think it looks very nice! I really like the colour scheme. Dark green, grey and tan produce a wonderful colour combination! Also, having a very good amount of minifigs is definitely a big plus, considering the fact that 4 minifigs was the limit in previous modulars.

I didn't even notice that as being a billboard. I thought it was some 'stamp'/marking on the picture.

That was my initial thought too! I said: "What the *f word* is that creepy minifig face and that package/present on the box? A new logo?"

A very nice addition I must say.

I think it looks fantastic, of what I can see, that is. As snefroe put it, it does lack grandeur, but it sure hit the nail on the head when it comes to resembling traditional departement stores - it can't be mistaken for anything else - the giant "shop"-sign above the entrance merely highlights the obvious. It's not as mind-blowing as, let's say, the two first buildings, but those were after all pioneering sets - we'd probably be as amazed by this if it came first, instead of Café Corner.

As for getting it, I set aside the money the moment I caught the scent of it.

The first thing that caught my eye on this was that billboard, it's very intriguing. It's almost certainly brickbuilt, which is good. I can't tell whether the image next to the "face" on it is supposed to be an airplane or a wrapped gift/present. Also hard to tell whether it is popping off of the back (3D) or if the design is flush with the rest of the billboard.

Firstly, sorry Legoliner Pilot for the accusations I boldly made, but the whole way you boasted about having pictures you wouldn't show anyone didn't suggest anything else.

And now for my views of the Emporium; I think it looks great!

The architecture of the building looks both American and European IMHO. But it doesn't have a steep roof, like what one would expect on a European building of this age and appearance. Also that postbox looks like an Danish one. There are many cool-looking additions such as the window cleaner and ice cream stand, and lots of new and exciting parts.

I think the main reason many people are having some reservations about the set is the fact that the whole building looks, overall, square and squat. The fact that the upper stories look rather alike doesn't help. And I hope that billboard isn't a sticker...

Again - like the awnings - my guess would be it's brick-built, because sticker-free - just like the use of classic smiley faces - seems to be one of the design basics of the modulars.

I think the deciding factor for many people will be how good the interior is. The outside may not be quite as impressive as the exterior of Green Grocer, but if the interior is a step ahead of all previous modular buildings, that could really seal the deal.

Regardless, I think it looks great, though I won't be getting it.

Although the picture is a little grainy, It still says a lot and thanks to whoever posted it! Another great building for my collection the little add-ons like the window washer are just great!

can't wait to get this set in march... hope Lego will post some better pics soon. Picture made my day! :pir-cry_happy:

What a coincidence, I had built this recently:

I say my worker looks way safer than TLG's :)

Btw, if there is billboard on the top, I had tried that as well. What luck!

Hmm, I keep staring at the picture... do you think that the corner building will have a 'cutout' (like Cafe Corner) at the back or will fill the 32 x 32 base plate fully? The birds-eye view on the front of the box seems to suggest there is no 'cutout', which means more interior space. :classic:

Before the pictures were released I thought they would have included an elevator, but that would have required some construction on top of the building.

Ooh, pretty! :oh:

It looks like a lot of thought has been put into this set. The design as a whole is very elegant and realistic. There are magnificent details there as well, with more to be seen once we get a higher-resolution pictures.

The minifigs are a bit odd, though, and nothing we haven't seen elsewhere before, but figs haven't been the strongest side of these modular houses to begin with.

But your window washer doesn't have a window to wash!

Oh Sandy, you think too much :D He was uhm... uhm painting the wall! Yep that's it, he's doing a paint job :) No window cleaning!

Thank you very much for that pic, Er!k! :classic:

This set looks really beautiful!

What I like:

-very realistic architecture :oh:

-very good choose of colors

-lovely accessory (esp. the small vehicle, the ice cream stand and the window cleaner)

What I dislike:

-the "shop" sign above the entrance (Everybody can see that this is a shop - so why not leave it out or take a more significant name (that you know what kind of shop it is) or a name of a real or not real existing shop?!) :hmpf:

-it's really a pity that this is a CC-styled building and not a City set without backwalls :cry_sad:

If it was a City Exclusive (meaning a house without backwalls) I'd immediately buy it. But since I don't collect CC styled sets I won't buy it.

Hopefully we'll get some sort of mall or big shop (like this one) as an exclusive City set in the future!

This set looks great, I really like color scheme (green parts!!!). I hope for interesting interior, though revolving door already looks nice.

One thing which probably was not mentioned before: it is a corner building, isn't it? Then it looks like TLG is closing a block of modular buildings, right? From Cafe Corner to Grand Emporium? I truly hope that modular buildings line will continue with one year frequency we had to date.

Anyway, I am definitely getting this one this year.

I don't know how much these CC-styled buildings are sold since I do not buy them.

But since TLG has been releasing already four CC-styled buildings they must be a success.

And so it would be counterproductive if they stop this line after 10211.

Cafe Corner is already sold out on S@H (at least it was on the German homepage when I visited it the last time). So there is room for another corner building. Plus there may be as many buildings between two corner buildings as you and TLG want to. And if the street gets too big you can always open up a new one.

What an incredible set! All I can say is 'must have'. I see the nay-sayers, and I truly believe this will be one set that you have to see a more clear picture of or see in person to truly understand the spectacular design. I'm not so sure this isn't on par with Cafe Corner or Green Grocer, those two are old news. This absolutely fascinates me in a way I haven't felt since CC came out. The billboard on top, the window washer, the details of Svelte's MOC that I loved (well most of them  ), the action going on outside. All of this just screams to me. The only thing I can say is that I wonder what is inside, especially on the top two floors. I'm also curious about the back. I would be very happy if it enclosed an entire square base, to give more room inside. I still really like the Fire Station, but I haven't bought it yet because I wasn't sure how far Lego was going to go with this series. Now it looks full steam ahead, so I'm going to have to get that as well. All very exciting!

Eh whats this? oh a pic you say. Anyway this looks good for getting a bunch of tan. The deciding factor for me is wether or not I want to pay however much it's going to cost. Anybody know?
