I have my Black Seas Barracuda still assembled, but it's the Legend version, not the original, so it doesn't count.

I've never purposefully disassembled my original Millenium Falcon (I remember it shattering when I dropped it once, but I rebuilt it that day), so that would be ten, almost eleven years. It doesn't have all its pieces with it, but it's still pretty much together.

Hmm... the oldest one that's completely intact is The Batwing: Joker's Aerial Assault, which I kept from succumbing to the second law of thermodynamics like the rest of the sets on my shelf because it's just so epic. I got it for Christmas '06, so approaching three years now.

Oldest set that's stayed mostly intact but is missing a few pieces is ths one, because you gotta have an x-wing. That one's coming up on seven years this Christmas.

The rest of my stuff mainly falls apart on my woefully unkempt shelf. Or, like Dumbledore's office (which I would have kept intact to this day if I could have) is destroyed by my little sister and evil cats.

Back in the beginning of my dark ages in about 1985 I but my 928 Space Cruiser (UK = Galaxy Explorer elsewhere), built, in a box with a lot of other classic space sets, some built, some not. That box has moved house several times since but, provided atmosperic disturbances haven't somehow affected it, it's still there. I hope.

Interesting topic. I was looking throught some boxes in the attic last year, and stumbled on an old MOC covered in dust. After calculating back I realized I must have built it in 1977 when I was 10 years old. It's an 8-stud wide Volvo truck with a semi-trailer that has "Volvo" in lettering on the side. Sure brings back a lot of memories...

I MOC more than collect, so I am constantly having to disassemble sets for parts. I do believe the longest I have kept a set built would be from January 08 to know, and that would be the Anakin's Jedi Starfighter released then.

I've several smaller sets like vehicles from the late 80s which I have never disassembled. An example would be the 6693 Refuse Collection Truck from 1987. For the larger sets, most of them are disassembled. I still have the two first 9V trains which I have never disassembled since 1991: the 4558 Metroliner and the 4563 Cargo train.

I never really keep my sets intact for long, but the one exception is Darth vaders Tie Advanced, I just like that model way too much. I have no reason to break it, so I think it will be around for a while. So I guess four months is the lngest time I've had.

I still have the original Black Falcon's Fortress and Lion Knights Guarded Inn from 1986, and Forestmen Camouflaged Outpost from 1987 built and on display. I never took them apart. They've been on display in a glass cabinet for more than 20 years now.

In terms of sets: I bought set 6335 on april the 22th 1996, assembled it the same day and never took it apart. So that'll be 13 years 6 months and 13 days...

I still love the design and it hasn't yellowed.

I so envy you. I wanted that set so bad as a kid. My current oldest still together set is either Gali Nuva (who may have been re-assembled more recently after being taken apart), or the City Airport, which was a 2004 re-issue of the Century Skyway. I screamed when I saw it was re-issued; I had so lusted after that set when I got into LEGO the year after it was discontinued. I built it after I got it for Christmas, and it's still together (save a runway baseplate and a wheel piece for the luggage cart). So it's been together for five years... Not too impressive given the other posts in this thread. But God do I love that set.

I still have Fenir wolf. He's too awesome to destroy him!

Yeah, I'm the same. Mines in my "I'll break this if I have to" bucket, but I keep looking for parts elsewhere...

With three children under the age of 9, I can barely keep my sets together for a week without someone sneaking into my room and taking them off my shelf. "Look dady! I made it better!"

Looks like if I ever plan on having kids, I'll have to figure a way to keep my stuff high and behind lock and key, but still visible. Fortunately, I don't have such plans at the moment, but it's good to consider the possibility.

Have been collecting all town / train sets since 1985. Pirates and Model Team as well. Sets were made up, put in new bag and put in new boxes. So that would make it nearly 25 years.

Among sets - definitely Caribbean Clipper. I got it for Christmas in 1989 and kept it assembled for some time, then dismantled it, then after some time rebuilt it, dismantled again, and so on over the years, but for the most time it was assembled, standing on my closet, rather than being in pieces in a box. Then I finally sacrificed it for MOCs some time around 2000 I think.

Among MOCs - also a ship, HMS Progress, built in 2004 and still present, though it has undergone some modifications over time.

Green grocer - it's been sitting on my desk for about a year. Initially it was all alone, then it was joined by first Market Street, then Cafe Corner, then a modular MOC of a Lego College that I designed via LDD and most recently Fire Brigade. My desk is getting very crowded.....

Great thread!!!

To me, that has to be the 6506 Precinct Cruiser with Inspector Cruchot (or at least that's who I think the policeman is) :) Got it back in 1989 and, apart from disassembling it to dust & clean the parts and then once again to take pics of all the separate pieces for a review here on EB, it has been intact ever since. 20 years and counting! Guess it's pretty obvious how nostalgic I feel about this particular set.

Another set which I have kept together in its original state is the Spyrius Recon Robot. Originally, I had wanted to get the Robo Guardian instead for Christmas, but once I built my Recon Robot, I loved it... Funnily enough, I still haven't bought that other Robo Guardian - but I certainly will :) Unfortunately, the Recon Robot got a bit disassembled during the time it was stashed in a cardboard box, along with tons of other LEGO for 10 years... So I don't know if it really counts, but I'd say I've kept it built for 15 years now.
