I have built a MOC of the 10199 Winter Toy Shop on a 32 by 32 baseplate using two of the sets and parts from my collection.

This is the first MOC I have posted to Eurobricks. Please let me know what you think of it.

Thanks,

Bruce

Nice MOC!

Though a few points (constructive criticism!):

> The rear looks rather plain - there's a lack of windows and a rear door.

Nice work. I like the snow covered trees, especially the little one in front of the shop windows.

Very cute!

I like your creation very much.

It looks pretty well designed!

LEGO really needs to make more of those snow covered trees. They were in what? Two Belville sets?

Hey not bad!

In fact I would have preferred it if the actual set came out looking like this.

I love what you've done, it looks beautiful! It has a much more complete look to it over a single Winter Toy Shop. The snow covered trees (both pre-fab and the brick built ones you've made) are a fantastic addition. Very lovely - thanks for sharing!

Nice work!

I like the brick-built snow covered tree based on the 10069 - that quadruple convex cap-piece was never officially released in white according to BL, and it looks great here

The building does look more substantial on a 32x32 baseplate and less like a display piece. This could easily integrate into a modular street as a special Christmas village or standalone.

This is precisely what I was planning to do with my Toy Store. Should I have ordered two of those? :hmpf: Hmmm...

In any case, wonderful mod! I really enjoy how you've managed to keep as close to the original while providing the whole building with a sense of realism! Looks extremely Chrismasy :)

I agree, this would be way better, but instead of having multiple trees at the back, there could be only one big Christmas tree.

Nice work...

this set alone is already a good one, but this one is looks better...

i really like this.

PS: maybe you could show the inside of the shop...(",)

I am a member of BayLTC here in California and I tend to build stuff to put on our train layouts at the shows we do. Since interiors do not show in this context, I don't tend to do much. The roof is not removable. The four toys are in the windows, the floor is tiled, and the fireplace is the same as in the set. However it does not have the counter and cash register or the work bench upstairs.

I am going to have to move the toy shop about three studs forward so the roof does not go outside the edge of the baseplate. (a rule for everything on the layout so they will all fit together) When I do that I will add a window and back door.

Thanks again,

Bruce
