L-space Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 (edited) HAPPY HOGSWATCH featuring Death as the Hogfather, one of his little helpers; a Troll and Rincewind clinging on. inspired by the cover of "Hogfather" by sir terry Pratchett, the Corgi paperback edition. Unfortunately I don't have the pigs yet. If someone is willing to trade? I promiss they won't end up as a sausage. from wikipedia: The Hogfather The Discworld's version of Father Christmas or Santa Claus. He wears a red, fur-lined cloak, and rides a sleigh pulled by four wild boars (or, in modern portrayals, cute pink piggies), Gouger, Rooter, Tusker and Snouter. In earlier times he gave households pork products, and naughty children a bag of bloody bones. Earlier than that, he was a winter god of the death-and-renewal kind. The modern version is a jolly toymaker, with vestiges of the earlier myths (such as his Castle of Bones, a vast palace of ice which has nothing notably bony about it, except for the suggestion of a protruding femur or scapula here and there) still clinging to him. Hogswatchnight The first of Ick is Hogswatchday, the Disc's New Year, and the winter solstice from the perspective of Ankh-Morpork. In the Astronomical Year the second midwinter (the year's midway point) is called Crueltide, but to people using the Agricultural Year this is the same festival. The 32nd of December, or the day before the New Year, is known as Hogswatchnight; The name is a pun on "hogwash", Hogmanay and Watch Night, and possibly on the ancient holiday of Samhain. Traditionally associated with pig-killing, to ensure there is enough food for the rest of the winter. Many Hogswatch traditions are parodies of those associated with Christmas, including a decorated oak tree in a pot, strings of paper sausages, and, of course, a visit by the Hogfather. Witches do not leave the house on Hogswatchnight more because of tradition than any practical reasons. The witch Nanny Ogg gets around this by simply inviting everyone to her house for the holiday instead. Edited November 26, 2009 by L-space Quote
HJR-Holland Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Here's my creation : Darth Vader takes a break from petrying the universe, and brings presents to those who have been nice this year! In the eyes of Vader, of course, this means visiting about ten addresses. In true Christmas spirit, Vader teams up with Elf Yoda, and together with a herd of Tauntauns (and the Force to guide them) they set off for a Christmas adventure! Quote
Ricecracker Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Who could be delivering presents off of their new work truck? Quote

I implore you to visit my flikr page to look at the rest of it, if not just to check out my space fig collection it's a where's waldo of sorts, with sig figs and starwars charactors and alittle something for kdog (the three main charactors standing close under the mistletoe(guess who the 3rd is) ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited November 27, 2009 by dannylonglegs Quote
The Cobra Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Here's my lame entry: As awful as it is, it carries a deep meaning. Everyone got something for Christmas, and is happy with it. Someone got deadly self-defense weapons, someone got a chest with gold and diamonds, or just something good to eat and drink. Everyone except for the guy with the idiotic face. All he got was an oar, as a warning for another year of his silly job. (Deeper meaning: if there's someone I don't like all year long, I'm not going to like him/her on Xmas day either). Quote
-JD- Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Unfortunately, Santa didn't have enough pressents for all the clone troopers. Hopefully I'll win something, as it is my birthday today. Quote
