Sylann Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Hello This is my first MOC on this forum, all remarks are welcome Quote
Rook Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Looks good. Your modifications are nicely done. Quote
Ratshot Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 (edited) You modified this very well, I think this would make a great set! Welcome to EB, maybe you could introduce yourself here. Edited November 10, 2009 by Ratshot Quote
Big Cam Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Great mod, the ship looks really good in that dark blue. Too bad LEGO didn't release all of their smaller ships in the multiple colors. Quote
commdr_neyo Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I'ts a really good mod of the original version, great job Quote
WhiteFang Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I like this V-Wing modification, as you have used a neat color scheme to represent Captain Rex's spacecraft. Quote
Skipper 24 Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Great MOC Sylann . The colour scheme looks really nice with Rex and fits him perfectly. Also I like how you've made space to fit the whole astromech where as in the official set only the head would fit (I think?). Quote

Darth Legolas Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Nice job! I really like the blue on the ship and the modifications! Keep on building! Quote
Legostein Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 (edited) Hello, and welcome to this fine community here! I like that V-Wing starfighter. I also liked the original one, and these two are very similar. The colour scheme is great, as dark blue is a more rare colour and always good for a spot-on, and those rounded slopes are also a nice touch on the wings. But maybe you could tell us a bit more about your creation. What did you not like about the original V-Wing, what did you improve and how did you realize it? These are some general questions I try to stick with when I present something. Why, what and how did I build something. This gives - in my humble opinion - the reader a better insight in your creation. The "why" seems clear here, as you were not satisfied with the original one and saw some excellent ways to improve it. Cheers, ~ Christopher Edited November 10, 2009 by Legostein Quote
ILikePi Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I love it! It looks much better than the dark red in the official LEGO set. The thinner nose and changed wings look much better. Great work! Quote
RileyC Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 (edited) Congrats on your first MOC its really good. I like the blue better than the red, I feel it goes better with the dark grey. Great work! EDIT: 800th post! yay! Edited November 11, 2009 by Roncanator Quote
Sylann Posted November 12, 2009 Author Posted November 12, 2009 Hi all and thanks a lot for all your remarks. To answer Legostein, I tried to explain the reason of this starship. Sorry for my English, hope all will be understandable. As you can see in the offical set, there is no real landing gear and for me it's an error, same thing for the Astromech, I wanted to add a complete one, not only a head. These two addtion was possible by increasing the lenght of the Starship (only two 'slot') So I integrated the back landing gears in the slope and changed the front of the ship by replacing some parts. Regarding the cockpit, it was very easy to add a hinge. I also added a real computer instead of the original tile and add two slot for Rex's guns. For the wings, I changed them because of a lack of parts, but after some little modificaction, I decided to change the based concept of the wings. Hi all and thanks a lot for all your remarks. pedro Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Nice MOD Sylann. Really like the extra details and the new colour scheme, really suits Rex to a tee. Have you seen The Inventor's V-wing MOD? You'll find it here. It's arguably one of the best I've seen based around the set. He managed to recreate the swivel nature of the wings and the slant of the body shape very effectively. You should check it out! It may inspire you to further develop your own MOD Quote
CommanderFox Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Very nice MOD Sylann. The V-wing for me personally is one of my favorite ships, and you have done a Fine MOD of it. I like it how you have fitted the whole R2 unit in and not just it's head. The colour is very nice aswell. It would be cool if you could do another Mod of it in the style that The Inventor did, that would be very nice to see! Well done! CommanderFox Quote
Oky Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 (edited) Pretty neat mod. But I think the wings look a bit fat, and it looks like a separatist ship. Therefore, I think it would have been better if you would have used normal blue instead of dark blue. But then again, I don't think those pieces you used exist in normal blue. It's great, though, that a whole R2 unit can fit in there. Edited November 13, 2009 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
Sylann Posted November 14, 2009 Author Posted November 14, 2009 Thanks a lot for all these feedbacks As suggested by Pedro, I had a look to the inventor V-Wing. So, following is the V2 of Rex V-Wing I change the wings but I didn't use the same technic as the Inventor. Hope you'll enjoy this new one. Quote
JimBee Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Nice MOC. I liked the first version better, though I like how on both versions, the back part of the wings spike out. Great color scheme, I think dark blue works much better than regular blue in this instance. I have to ask, though, what was your inspiration to make this (besides the V-Wing)? It doesn't make much sense for Rex to have one of these, since they're primarily used to escort and guard the Chancellor's shuttle, and used by the Homeland Security legion. Cool idea, anyway. Quote
pedro Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Sylann, those variable configuration wings are much better! I'm sure your happier with them too. I think maybe the front wedge shape was better first time around - or maybe it just needs a bit of weaking to close those gaps - it's still great looking fighter Quote
the Inventor Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Well, I really like your V-Wing, and its nice to see the V2 of your Moc, inspired by my Mod. I think your original front design was better then your second, because of the gaps. I also think that dark blue is better then blue. the Inventor Quote
KimT Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Looks good. Your modifications are nicely done. Agreed. Nice job on those MODs Quote
