lightningtiger Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 (edited) My town requires roads repaired, civic gardens maintained and public toilets unblocked. This is the local shire maintance team. A front end loader. (Yes I know it's 7634 tractor in yellow, so I guess this part is more MOD than MOC) A ute towing a cement mixer. Let me know what you all think ? Note - A ute is a sedan pick up truck. By the way the cement mixer does turn when push the ute along. Edited November 26, 2009 by lightningtiger Quote
marvinblue Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I reckon they look pretty cool. I like the adaptation of the little cement mixer to allow it to be towed. Nice work! Quote

Thank you for your kind comments, Marvinblue. Very soon I start work on a small shire depot for these vehicles. Quote
Big Cam Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 It looks like you modeled these off of real sets! They look great, the cement mixer is really good. I've never seen a cement mixer trailer made from LEGO and you did a really good job! Quote
Milan Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 They are good. I like the truck with the trailer. Even the tractor looks very good in yellow. Nice work! Quote
Rick Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I like the little pickup truck most. I need to mod my cement mixer as well some day... Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 11, 2009 Author Posted November 11, 2009 Thanks everyone as far for your positive comments. The ute was actually built more than 6 months ago when I started planning my country town and has a plate to attach either a tool box or a piece of machinery on the back of it. Oh yeah, the cement mixer is from the builder impulse pack thats still available, I just changed the colours slightly, added brake lights and a towing hitch/bar to it's front. Quote
JayDuck Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 That tractor looks great in yellow, and that's a clever mod to put the little cement mixer behind the truck. Quote
peterab Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Nice Mocs/Mods. I hope nobody was expecting hobbit carts when they read shire vehicles I'd guess only the UK has shires, and maybe Canada, apart from Oz. I like how you have adapted official sets, since I think the official sets are well designed, but rebuilding them in other colours allows you to model your own local area better. The wheel arches and wide wheels don't make the car look much like an Aussie ute though, more like a Ford F100. I've also built a couple of cement mixers that are mounted on trailers, mine are blue and white to match the large cement truck though, I'd thought of perhaps building a cement yard at some stage, or a building site. Yakop Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 I like the cement mixer that's pretty cool Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 I deceided that the digger from 7633 could join my shire fleet of vehicles, but there was a problem. All diggers like this have a dozer blade on their front, so I put one on. So the MOD is not much but it makes in my opinion the digger look alot better. See it at -Visit My Website at MOC pages. Oh yeah there is also a street sweeper there too, that just had some trim MOD's done to it (in the fleet shot only). Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 25, 2009 Author Posted November 25, 2009 I know, I know it's not a MOC this machine, it's a MOD one. It's the digger from 7633, but with something that they all have in real life - a dozer blade on the front. The Lego one doesn't, so I added one and now I will start work soon on a trailer for it to be transported on. The shire maintance fleet keeps getting bigger. Within a month I should be starting work on a depot for these vehicles, including a workshop, site office and maybe a lunch room or even a toilet/shower block. Comments anyone ? Quote
Rick Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Although I don't own it, I like the little digger from the construction scene set. The blade makes it complete, looks good. Quote
