benny Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 (edited) I spent nearly all of yellow and brown brciks at home to make this post office and service station! The post office include the post counter and mail vehicle car park, the servic station is the centre for repairing the vehicle! It is the first time, i tried to make the MOC in western building style! I like Post series so much but only 7731 and 7732 were released in the past year!! I want a new post office so much, so i make a post office!!! In order to let the mail vehicle to enter and repair, i made a service station !!! Edited November 13, 2009 by benny Quote
Ras 74 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 This is a really lovely Postoffice So many nice details. I didn´t looed through it all yet, I was just amazed and wanted to post of giving you some nice comments I also always liked to build postoffices in the past, but this is just a brilliant one. Wish TLC could do something simular. Reminds a bit like a old office we used to have in Gothenburg. Quote

Actually, the idea of this post office is from a Germany Train Station. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Superb/gundam/train.jpg Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Interesting post office - quite like the outside of it. The service station or garage/workshop - also impressive. Both seem to have a lot going on inside them. Although I would have the post/parcel loading dock on the outside of the post office. Very well done. Quote
Milan Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Design of the building is very appealing! I like the front section of the post office! Garage is very nice, too.! I would suggest to move the parked vehicles out of the post office, or just build a wall or something to block that nasty exhaust gases away from waiting minifigs! Quote

So many lego fans also suggest to remove the car park or block it! We also consider the air pollution within the post office!!! Quote
Milan Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 It would be funny if you put "no smoking sign" in the post office, while letting the cars from the parking lot to pollute the inside of the post with exhaust You can move the parked cars on a new parking lot at the side of the building, or even behind it, that way you can use the newly acquired space inside for a new shelter, or for a storage of the packages. Rick Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I really like the exteriors of the two buildings. The interior, especially the post office could do with some more detailing (upstairs) and I agree with Milan that it's a bit weird to have the cars parked there, especially considering that it doesn't have a back. Aren't you considering adding a fourth wall? In that way you could have the cars parked outside and perhaps have a sorting area in the back. Quote
BlueBard Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Really great designs, just as I love them: not gargantuan but still nicely detailed! My favourite is the Post Office with that pretty facade and of course the interiors are great too. Great job! Quote
Zorro Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Really good MOC, I love how you did the insides of the buildings ! Quote
prateek Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Wow! Those two buildings are really impressive. You can see the hustle and bustle going on Quote
Ezechielle Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Both are awsome! (but my preference goes to the Service Station, I really like the use of brown parts to simulate true bricks) Quote
Legostein Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Hello! A great combination of buildings! And also very carefully designed with lovely details in mind. I loved to see the old post van from set 6362 in the garage. Made me dream of former days! Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Zorbas Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Great design and excellent result! Both buildings look great and they really match together. What I really appreciate is the size of them. Not too big and not small, both are suitable for any city layout. Well done! P.S 3-wheeled forklift eh? I really like it! Any more pictures on that? Quote

Thanks a lot!!!Actually, i have the idea to make one more yellow building to replace the brown one!!!! The car park and repairing centre will be added inside!!! Then the brown building will be changed as a outlet or factory!!!! The forklift, it is my old MOC in 2008! Quote
Zorbas Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Thanks for posting the extra photos benny! The forklift looks great indeed! (..and environmental friendly. ) You've used all the necessary elements in order to look realistic. My suggestion is to raise the back wheel 1-2 plates more so that the rear part doesn't touch the ground. Thanks again! Quote

When the heavy stock was picked by the focklift, it will be up side down!!! So i used this method to make it now! Thanks for posting the extra photos benny! The forklift looks great indeed! WhiteFang Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Another great piece of work. Both the post office and service station looks real nice by placing it side by side. Even the interiors of both buildings are done nicely. Well done. Thanks for sharing it with us. This MOC has been featured in Classic-Town.net. Quote

benny Posted November 16, 2009 Author Posted November 16, 2009 I Love those buildings. They are amazing, Nice size, great details and great colors. That is perfect Thanks for your comment!! I am glad that you enjoyed in my MOC!!! Actually, i spent nearly two months to complete it!!! In the beginning, the post office is smaller, the effect is not so good!!! Finally, spent more bricks to make it bigger and higher!!! The effect is much improved!!!! Quote
Dennimator Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Wow. I especially love that post office. I did build one recently (yes, I will post it here on EB ), but this looks alot better. Really nice. Also, I think the forklift, while already awesome, would look better with some of these on the back instead of the 'regular slopes. And, just a suggestion, take it easy with the '!'s, it can be a bit annoying to read all of them, as they mean you´re screaming the words. Quote

If Lego Co. can produce more post, train or warehouse sets, we should be very happy. Sorry! I typed so many "!". I try to improve it. Quote
