Data reveals that the LCROSS mission was a success! The 9th October this year, Nasa sent two massive projectiles to "land" on the moon with a big explosion. Now data reveals that there IS water on the moon! According to Nasa's website there is no doubt that the moon holds water! :alien:

Of course there is water on the Moon!

Although, it's not exactly water, it's just plain teardrops.

Didn't you ever had a bug getting in your eye?

Seriously now, the most exciting and most interesting thing about this project's discovery is that NASA officials said that not only they've found water but they've found lots of water, assuming maybe that there is much more now to explore.

This is exciting and thrilling! :sweet:

Just wait and hear about the discovery of the cheese-bearing veins...

Wonderful Moc from the silent Jules Version film, first men in the moon.

Seriously I'm waiting for the Selenites to counterattack. Edgar Rice Burroughs actually did a novel of this scenario, entitled "The Moon Men". Read it if you can track it down. It was originally a political satire about bolshevism (written in the 20's) and he translated it into an interplanetary romance nove.

Does this mean we can all start wearing the jumpsuit/tunic combos and moon boots that the 70s envisoned us in (Really, I wish we were living in the proper future they wanted us to have) I would love to live on the moon...

That was the picture I was looking for in the beginning and the Google Evil Machine predicted that I wanted to post something in a LEGO related forum.

That is 24 actually. Someone didn't do his homework.

Its great that there is water on the moon but I dont think anyone will create a moon base. I think its a great idea to create one so we can get an idea of how different it is to live on another body other than earth

Why would you want to live on the moon? They don't have Shop@home there. :cry_sad::tongue::grin::wink:

Although a short vacation in a bungalowparc with a nice tropical swimmingpool on the moon would be nice. If you don't like the big sandy plains anymore you can always relax in a bubblebad.

Your third poll is superfluous - the Phoenix lander found solid proof of water ice an inch below the surface of Mars. Unfortunately, it sublimated before we could get a much better look to see if there were polutants, but we know there's water there anyway.

The recently found evidence that there's indeed water on the Moon - at least in its frozen condition - is very exciting, but I highly doubt there'll be a manned mission to the moon in the next decades. I also doubt there'll be a moon space station due to the cost factor. But since there's water on the moon, I believe there will almost certainly also be water on Mars.

Wow! They've found water on Mars too! :oh3::oh:

Sorry, just HAD to do that!

Anyways I voted "don't know", "don't know" and "yes". I think there is water on Mars, I don't really know, but is likely as it's a cold planet, think about frozen water like on the moon... so it is highly possible. As for the first poll questions, I don't know at all, the space exploration goes very slow so it's unlikely. But maybe...?
