Dennimator Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Excellent work, as always. I really love that flipper/roof tile technique. Do you mind if I use it when building a replica of my IRL house? Quote
SlyOwl Posted November 15, 2009 Author Posted November 15, 2009 Thankyou all I'm worried you may have to retake the pictures though, as I don't believe you're allowed to use non-LEGO parts in the CCC. I suggest asking one of the judges before taking this apart. Already taken it apart... Maybe it'll be okay in the Eastern Life category, but if not... I have a question though, does it have an interior. Awesome I wanted to do one, but no, I ran out of time. I really love that flipper/roof tile technique. Do you mind if I use it when building a replica of my IRL house? Sure, go for it! You must have a really weird house though! Quote
Milan Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 I do not from where to start! Ok, the building itself! One of the best I have ever seen, techniques are fantastic, angled room, awesome roof...! The snow is fantastic, too, so is the path, which look like frozen earthly real path, also the trees are phenomenal! It gives the feeling that it is really severe cold temperature around it! Quote
kris kelvin Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 For me it`s the best entry from all entries in this years CCC so far Between Russia and Bavaria? In Poland ? Quote
Big Cam Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Incredible work, I can't believe how fast you can create new MOC's. I love the detail involved. THe shingles look great, and I have never seen trees like wither of yours. The random snow tiles on the roof are a nice touch. The corners are clever with the cylinder pieces, and I laughed at the two brown tiles that look like they are holding up the side Great work like usual! Quote
collegotor Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 This is really nice - I appreciate it very much. My favourites are the trees - excellent idea, to put some tropic palm leaves on them ! I'm still wondering how you did the crossover from the tree trunk (brown barrels/round bricks) to the leaves - are you using hinges and/or bricks with studs on all sides ? Quote
Perterz Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Ow this is cool! The snowy landscaoe is just fantastic, great work on that! Lol at the white clippers but the effect is there ;) The whole creation brings up a a cold and dark atmosphere which seems to be perfect! Like always the details are top stuff Quote
fenris Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 what a great moc! love the castle! very nice details, very well built, great atmosphere! awesome! Quote
gladiator Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I really love it. Very good looking. Quote
MadAboutLego Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I like it like the castle thing and the snow Quote
CommanderFox Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 (edited) Another fantastic MOC SlyOwl I love the snow around the tower. The tower is very nicely built! I like the little black (room?) area Overall Fantastic job! Looking forward to seeing more MOCs! CommanderFox Edited November 18, 2009 by CommanderFox Quote
SlyOwl Posted November 18, 2009 Author Posted November 18, 2009 Thanks again everyone For me it`s the best entry from all entries in this years CCC so far Between Russia and Bavaria? In Poland ? As I said on Flickr, yup; seems like it! I'm still wondering how you did the crossover from the tree trunk (brown barrels/round bricks) to the leaves - are you using hinges and/or bricks with studs on all sides ? Hinge plates. I tried with SNOT bricks, but the palm leaf pieces don't hold on well because they have to be tilted to achieve the desired effect. I like the little black (room?) area Room... something like that! Commodore Hornbricker Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Typical SlyOwl Awesomeness! The overall scale and design a perfect. The snow is just a great touch to the setting. The tree is awesome to bad you couldn't do that design in white! The fence is also very cool. I've always liked those flipper shingles. How do you do them? Are there upside down plates underneath? I also really like how you used those video tape tiles at the top of the tower for ornimentation. That is just brilliant! Quote
Commander Laquiet Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Fantastic MOC! Full of wonderful details, as usual. The use of tape plates is genius. Quote
JimBee Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I really like this. No snow over here yet, but I like how gloomy or lonely the MOC is. Nice effects with the snow, especially with the use of a white flipper here and there on the black flipper roof. I also like the pine trees. What really amazes me about your work is that you don't actually have that many pieces compared to other MOCers- you make the best of what you have. For example, what you said about running out of bricks, so you had to stack plates... yet you still manage it to look good, no, great. I wish I could do that. Quote
