Wow these figs are looking better and better! It looks as if every fig other than the robot has 1 or 2 items! :sweet: But why does the zombie has I chicken leg and a shovel?

To bury himself....

Did anyone notice the Spaceman has a trans-clear visor?

Just saw the pics on Huw's Flickr stream, and now I can't wait to get multiple packs!

I'll definitely have to try to get the zombie, crash test dummy, and cheerleader, though I doubt I'll be able to resist buying lots of these packs.

I also like how the zombie and crash test dummy come with two accessories when none were pictures in those LEGOLAND badges!

And those 3 x 4 black tiles with studs in the middle row are awesome!

Hi guyz!

I just want to share with you a new(?) photo of the upcoming Lego Set #8683-1: LEGO Minifigure Series 1. I remember seeing this rumored set a few months back and I don't know if this was posted already, if it was, then I apologize if this isn't new news.

Anyway, I must say that the minifig selections are great, with new torsos, faces, hair pieces and elements never before seen in any Lego set. This is really a must-have for all minifig collectors and Lego fans in general too.

Ouch I can already picture buying far too many of these for my own good.

Getting 3 robots sure will take buying tons of these...

Unless the figs are using China-made low plastic quality parts :( Then I would probably stop buying Lego altogether after such disappointment...

The cheerleader's shirt has a "M" instead of a "L". I wonder if "M" stands for anything.

I was wondering about that too. It might be based on some real-world team. (there are a couple of college sports teams with that exact same style of M, such as those of Maryland or Michigan, but the colors are different)

Actually, I would expect exactly this given the non-standard nature of these sets, combined with the big variety in printed parts. :sceptic:

They look high quality to me. If you zoom in to the highest resolution you can't see any odd rectangles on the insides of their arms. Also, none of the pieces use the complicated printing methods that need to be done in China.

A lot of moulds are new, but this might just be a feature of the range. To have new moulds used in this range before they appear anywhere else definitely increases the excitement.

Also it helps to pay for these new moulds if they're sold in this high-profit manner. Look at how many light sabre handles and robot arms appear in regular sets because Star Wars was so profitable.

I really hope there's a way to get all these figs in a complete collection. That's what I thought it was when I saw this new picture.

What about the magician's wand, cheerleader's pom poms, and clown's horn? The printing on them isn't that elaborate, but they seem complicated enough for TLG to decide to print them in China. :sceptic:

But it does look like the actual minifigs will be of the normal quality! :sweet:

Just check the polybag. It should say where the contents is from. As far as I know, TLC decided not to have standard minifig parts (such as the soldier's torso - see the banner below this post) made in China anymore due to inferior quality issues. However, I think they do still make certain special newly designed parts in China. To mention are the Toy Story figs from the Woody's Round-Up set, the green Alien heads (Toy Story), some of the SW headgear (the grey pointed mowhawk one from Thi-Sen in the Freeco Spider set for instance - box reveals that certain parts were made in China) and perhaps also the Mola Ram (Indiana Jones) headgear. The China made parts seem to be packed in separate small see-through sealbags.

Since this special minifigure collection contains some special never seen before new parts as well (cheerleader pom pom's, clown's hairpiece and horn, pre-historic savage's hair and his club, etc.) I would not be surprised if those were made in China after all.

The hi-def picture looks great! I hope I have enough money to buy all of them without too many double ups but im fine with double up because they are so awesome!

The new base they are standing on is pretty neat.

Finally a one-piece lid for 3 x 4 crates

There have been some reassuring words from TLG voiced through the ambassadors, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Hate to burst your bubble, but I think the picture is computer-rendered.

You're right. If you overlay the two sets of bows, they're being held at exactly the same angle by Robin Hood and the 'Native American'.

I was fooled by the skateboard - if you go to the highest resolution, you can see where the magic wand tool in PhotoShop didn't correctly select the ground when they cut it away. But I guess they could have rendered it and then cut the ground away in Photoshop... for whatever reason.

Edit: Oh, and they all have their arms at exactly the same angle too... duh. (Except for the skateboarder who's obviously some kind of rebel)

I just have a fear of ending up with a dozen or so crash test dummies :( Here's hoping the distribution is pretty random and even if some are rarer, there isn't a single "super common" minifig.

But if you have two crash test dummies, you'll have enough license plates to make a car...

Three, and the car could have a trailer.
