I love the Clown..Lego should really make a Circus line.. and the cheer leader is great if you have a few.. Crash test dummy is amusing..

Really some great ideas in there.

Okay, 4 dollars each, box holds 3 by 9, so 27 packs, times the price of 4 equals 108 NZD!

Usually, if you buy them by the case, you get a discount . I'm going to be contacting my local trading card store to see about availability.

Wow, these look amazing! I can't believe how many unique parts these have! It would be cool if Lego did a themed minifig collection, too, so that you could just buy a whole bunch and not worry about getting figs you didn't want (granted you liked the theme). I'm sure that won't be happening, though.

I think they'll come as full figures, else they are setting themselves up for all sorts of "false advertising" problems with adults and children who thinks it's sucky that they don't get the right parts and move on to the latest series of Go-Gos and Ben 10 rubbish. To compete in the rather fickle field of tradeables for the under thirteens they need to be one full figure in each bag with all the correct parts, not mixed.

Now I need to figure out how many to buy at a time...

Indeed, because there is no indication of them consisting of random pieces per bag, it is likely that they will contain complete figs. It would cause quite some frustration with kids (and AFOLs!) if this wouldn't be the case. You would need to buy lots. Also, some figs have accessories, while others don't. Some don't even have hairpieces or headwear.

Woo! Do you know where they'll be? Toyworld, most likely... but if they were at Whitcoulls I'd be able to get a staff discount...

Regarding the full figure/mixed parts debate my source tells me that it is full figures and not mixed parts. And I think that would make more sense than mixed parts.

And as has been stated that advertimesnt doesn't contain any mentions or even hints of it containing mixed parts rather than full figures. Intresting though that it looks kind of like it's boxes rater than bags.

You know, LEGO putting out so many new minifigures and accessories seems great, but somehow I fear that it might be another Chinese crappy-parts ruse like the magnet packs. I know I am being pessimistic, but just like getting real Yoda, Mace, and Dooku minifigs in a single pack seemed too good to be true, I feel like getting a large number of normal-quality new special parts figures is too good to be true. Only time will tell of course, but I'm worried that this will turn out to be another case of indent-arm, different plastic color minifigs.

I am beginning to suspect the same thing. The way these parts are spreading throughout normal themes like Toy Story torsos etc doesn't engender much faith. It used to be these items were confined to large specialty pieces like the Castle Dragons and Trolls, or the Farm Cow. But obviously that was just a 'warming up' process and in more and more sets we're seeing these pieces. Even some of the Ben10 specialty parts like pink fins etc come in the tell-tale separate bag.

What makes it most likely in my mind is the amount of all-new moulds and complex paint jobs on specialty pieces like the pom-pom. We've also seen from things like keychains and Vintage Fig collections that they are geared up to do prints not from regular themes.

I will remain hopeful until we see them up-close. They are such amazing looking figs! They'll be hard to resist even if they are dodgy.

I do agree! I'd read about the bad quality in Magnet packs, but how could I resist minifigs that resemble the minifigs of Mace, Dooku, and Yoda for just $15? I think I might also have to get some of these, even if they're not perfect.

My sources have told me that LEGO has rectified the 'dodgy Chinese-made Minifig' issue. Apparently the issue was brought to the attention of the head of Quality at TLG and that person was EXTREMELY unhappy that the Minifigs were sub-par and was not aware of the issue. Swift action was being taken to fix this, so I imagine we should not see the same issue with the new custom figs. Just my $0.02.

Looks like this could be an expensive endeavor for me. I'll just HAVE to order 2-3 cases.

I really hope that the figures aren't randomized. Honestly, not all parts are created equal. This is evidenced by the fact that many figs don't have printing on their legs. I don't mind getting one of the blander figs (the Ninja for example), but bland parts and no complete fig is even worse.

Some of the figs with leg printing don't even NEED leg printing. Example, the zombie's torn trousers and the clown's patterns. The caveman and Indian's were needed though...

Unbelievable good idea from TLG.

In the recent past years they casued me several surprises and helped to keep at low level my account :-)

Surely I have to by all of them. Personal best is ninja and nurse.

Thans Oky for the pictures.

Very much appreciated!

Thanks! :sweet:

From what you say about 8683 coming out in June, then 8684 coming out in september, maybe every month they release one or two figs or something like that.

Someones done there maths. :laugh::thumbup:

This is probably a dumb question, but why aren't any of the minifigs from any of the short-term themes like Atlantis and World Racers and Power Miners and Agents? It just occured to me when I was looking at the new World Racer sets. They could have used the figs to promote things like Atlantis, so if you get a unique Atlantis diver, you'll be tempted to get more from that range.

Is it because they want these figs to be from 'timeless' themes? And not something that's going to be replaced in two years time?

Or is it because the department that makes these figs isn't related to the other departments? Like, even the spaceman doesn't look like he belongs in the current space range, the Space Police.

I think it might be the latter... the board game depatment also seems to be completely separate, in that the Pirate Plank game features some made-up pirates in the cover. And the farm game features some made-up farmers.

I think this has good and bad implications... good, in that it's sometimes going to throw up something completely random and awesome, like the Robin Hood for the castle theme... but bad, in that something like the Caveman might be the only one in his theme... I love the caveman, and I like to think that some day they'll give him a cavewoman or even a rival caveman, but if these figs are made by an independent department, they might not consider 'prehistoric' to be an actual theme, so they'll never revisit it or consider how to supplement that theme to make it more playable.

None of the figs are from any currently running theme, it's part of the 'uniqueness', I guess.

Many fans just buy sets for the minifigs. If you can get the minifig for 2 buvks... why will you buy a 10 bucks set for it? To me, it's just a simple way of making you buy more LEGO... which is always nice!!!! :)
