Wow, So many new parts, DROOL.

However, I did see that comment about how the LEGS look like the cheap Chinese Plastic. You can see the example in the Robot pic. With all of the neat new accessories, I hope TLC doesn't whore out theses new molds to cover expenses. Anyone else worried that these might be made cheaply?

Mexicans, Forestmen and Explorer/Cowboy guy are my favs...so I'll have Greeks, and everything else to trade.

OMG!! An authentic MEXICAN minifigure!!!

And it doesn't look racist, but really involves a global idea of the traditional clothes without being disrespectful, it's not a stupid-Speedy-Gonzalez-like one, it really is gorgeous...it's cultural and not denigrant, woow, i'm really impressed!! :cry_happy:

p.d. the greek one is also phenomenal, could it mark at least a 2011 wave??

I think many people are worried about plastic quality, there have been a few disappointments in the recent past. I for one won't bother collecting the new minifigures if the plastic feels like 6-digit set number stuff. I certainly won't buy a whole box before sampling one or two individual minifigs, or reading early reviews from people here on Eurobricks!

I love how most AFoLs detest Bionicle because of all its specialized pieces that could only be used for figures, yet here you guys are obsessing over having more specialized pieces for minifigures. The only differences is Bionicle figures are larger, have more parts, and are technique themed, we also have a story. The stretch between system fans and Bionicle fans is very little.

People hate Bionicle because they don't look like anything LEGO has produced in 50 years. People hate Bionicle because the pieces rarely connect to the other LEGO lines like EVERY true LEGO line does, Dublos and System sets connect to Technic. People hate Bionicle because it looks liek it's made by some cheap megablocks company from China.

But the one main reason why people hate Bionicle is because the line is the same crap every damn year over and over and over and over and over and over again! It never changes! All LEGO does is make a new "mask" piece for a new year and makes it in 10 different colors so they can make 10 "different" sets that are always the same.

In the first series of these collectible minifigures there are 16 different minifigures, none of them look alike, that more in one month that are different than Bionicle had in 10 years.

The new minifigs still look good. However, I'm a bit disappointed with what we've seen of the second wave. I really hope these things don't have cheap Chinese plastic, that would ruin the whole idea. And also, I believe it has been officially said that these minifigs would never become part of an official line.

Do I see a Circus Ringmaster and a Mime curving around the corner?

Dam it I'm really going to be broke, my son will want all of them - series one and now series two ! :sweet:

They look fantastic - the mexican who loves peppers, de count (loves going to the blood bank) and Causeus-Painus Maximus !

Can't wait until later in the year !

I'm a conformist! !

That statement is false. Most bionicle parts are at least compatible with Technic. Plenty of the articulations are compatible with system. And all the technic base pieces which are used in abundance on bionicle can somehow be used with System. You should see my brother's half bionicle half system mech.

People hate Bionicle because it looks liek it's made by some cheap megablocks company from China.

Subjective.

But the one main reason why people hate Bionicle is because the line is the same crap every damn year over and over and over and over and over and over again! It never changes! Not really, well, as for the first years there were plenty of changes. And as for the last years they did change as well. IE: There's plenty of differences between 2009 and 2008 sets both in style and parts...

In the first series of these collectible minifigures there are 16 different minifigures, none of them look alike, that more in one month that are different than Bionicle had in 10 years.

Subjective again. When you compare every pair of 2009 canisters, they are just as different or more different from each other as these figs. Same with 2008 sets and half of the 2007 ones. When I see these minifigs' differences, they are barely different in printing and molds used for accessories. Something which even the worst Bionicle lines that suffered from clone syndrome can beat.

So, this is about new minifigures, nothing to do with buildable action figures. Keep on topic yeah?

Point the second: First hand evidence is all one can use to make a judgement on the quality of figures, save it for the summer or until a fellow LEGO nerd like ourselves gets to review one at a toy fair or own one.

These figures all look fantastic and I certainly am becoming impatient for a release date!

From what I've heard these will only be about 2 bucks a piece, so if that's true we'll all be getting a much needed break! :classic:

These figs look good, but I just hope they aren't made in China.

Also crossing my fingers.

Well, wouldn't mind if they are made in China BUT with good plastic.

Let's stop the off-topic Bionicle discussion! The next one to mentioning Bionicle in this thread will get <insert something bad>

A Greek fig, a Mexican with sombrero, ...

Those two figs are a must have for me.

I think that That 70's Fig has a black clown hair as his afro, it's nice to see recolors of such specialized parts.

Also, I want that vampire/Mexican. Now.

Don't worry, as I already said in the main Mfs topic they're going to be available in Spain so that means "everywhere":sadnew:

If they are in Spain, they'll probably be available in Mozambique too  (meaning everywhere)

In addition to some of the other suggestions, I'd love to see...

1. Mexican bandito (Complete with sombrero and poncho, this would be perfect ) (Check!)

...

5. Hippy (The clown hairpiece would work well on this guy.) (Close enough.)

...

7. Mime (Check!)

Great stuff!

That hoplite is fantastic, it looks like he even has some sandals! :sweet: I'm not in love with that spear though, it looks a little too clunky for my taste. All in all though he looks great, they've nailed him pretty well.

The second wave looks to be just as great as the first, I can't wait for these to come out.

These are great, like everyone else my wallet is going to be hurting buying these little beauties! What we have seen so far is fantastic and offers so many possibilities for the future. Only one thing, LEGO, start producing these in the thousands as these minifigs are going to sell like hot cakes.

You know you're from canada when you get excited for a skier mini-fig! lol

But in all seriousness, both series 1 and 2 will bring us some astounding new figures and rest assured like the rest of you, I will be spending quite a few dollars on picking up these packs.

Can anyone else spot the new themes developing?

Mexico: luchador, guy with maraccas.

Circus: ringleader, clown, strongman, mime

Horror: zombie, vampire, cheerleader

It's like, themes they can't do anywhere else.

Horror: zombie, vampire, cheerleader

that cracks me up. I think clown belongs in horror though. definitely if I get more than 1 clown in my fig-hunt, I will deem it a pestilence (and I will be tempted to recolor those 'fros more naturally. hey, I was gonna do it before I knew about the disco dancer anyway). magician is another one i think is pretty lackluster...

But I really do think they all rock. I like the cute nurse hairdo even better seeing the angle here, skater needs to comb the back of his hair a bit. I can't tell what the cheerleader-haired wave 2 girl is holding unless it's a scale version of the lego rubber raft. I thought disco was female for a second because of how I was seeing the mouth but that seems like a male, unbuttoned collar torso, so I guess it's a dude. I loooooooove the new Mex fig. the only one whose pieces I probably won't extensively experiment with with is the spartan. great complete fig, but too specialized for too many other uses.

does anybody else do the neckwear bracket, put one round 1x1 plate on it, and a hat on that? it's a great "hat with a string, resting on your back" look. cowboy, outback, sombrero probably, work great like that. I'm sure that's common knowledge but the sombrero reminded me, and when I'm discussing LEGO I might as well throw in the relevant know-hows

Where is the surfer? :oh:

On the right side, you can't see it in this picture :classic:

Too bad I didn't take a picture, but you should see the Pharao and the judo fighter with a tiny golden mini-fig trophy.

Cheers

Frank
